Hot Syncing my Palm 755p

Why when I hot sync my Palm 755p my events, memos and address on my contacts don't come over?
Post relates to: Treo 755p (Verizon)

All I need to know is what is under contacts and calendar. To view the hotsync log right click the hotsync manager icon next to your clock in the bottom left. Then to go settings. Once there you should have a link that says view hotsync log. Click on that and look under contacts and calendar.
Also did you install wireless sync on the device?

  • Problem Hot Syncing my Palm 105 under OS X 10.4.4

I get the message on the M105: "Your handheld computer & the desktop could not be established ..."
I am connecting the M105 via a USB/Serial cable, which works when I connect it to the USB port on my PC laptop. I have had it connected to the IMAC at start up.
I have installed Palm OS 4.2.1. I decided to try iSync and enabled Isync for the palm. ISync recognized the palm and told me to press the hot sync button on the M105. Before Isync completed, the M105 gave the "non-connection" message above. Isync help info. suggests syncing with Palm Hot Sync manager before using Isync. However, I was unable to do that -- I kept getting the same message on the M105. The Isync log indicates that it connected, but the M105 sure didn't think so, and my address/date info is not in the Palm desktop.
The Missing Sync tool does not list the M105 as being supported.
    What to do?

Your assumption is correct -- that's what I'm trying
to do. The Radio Shack cable goes from serial to USB
and I hook the M105 to that cable and then into the
USB port on the Mac. It does work on the USB port on
the Dell machine. On the Dell, I do the same thing
I'm trying to do on the MAC. I connect the M105 to
the Radio Shack serial to USB cable and hook it into
the USB port. On the Dell laptop, I can also connect
the M105 without the Serial/USB cable to the serial
port on the Dell. Either way it works.
So, if I understand correctly, you're saying I need
to buy the kit from Palm, or if I buy the Keyspan
cable, does it also come with a matching OS X
    driver?
    Doesn't the Palm 4.2.1 Version A Desktop that I
download for OS X come with the matching OS X
driver? When I do the download, it asks me for the
device and for the MAC OS.
    Thanks again
I had presumed that you were indicating that you
intended to synchronize an m105, using its serial
interface, to a Macintosh. A serial to USB
    converter
is required in that case, similar to those
    suggested
above, because your m105 is a serial device and
    your
    Macintosh has no serial port.
The serial to USB converter is a kit, containing
    both
a hardware adapter and a matching OS X driver.
Without both, your m105 cannot communicate with a
    Macintosh through its USB port.
I have now successfully hot synced the Palm 105 under OS X 10.4.4. I purchased a Keyspan 19HS USB Serial Adapter. I tried the installation over the weekend, and it didn't work. I entered E-Mail on their web site to give details but didn't hear back from them. Today (Thurs. 2/9/06), I called their support telephone no. I nice tech support person guided me through downloading a beta version of their software, necessary for OS X10.4.4, and lo and behold, it all worked.
I'm giving these details in case someone else has this problem -- may save you some time.
Thank you to Michael Lafferty for his good advice.

  • Vista 64-bit Hot Sync and Palm Desktop

Does anyone know when Hot Sync and Desktop will be available for 64-bit Vista?
    Thanks, Bob.
    Post relates to: Zire 21

At this time there is no ETA on any, if any, cabled solution for syncing palm os devices to Vista/XP 64 bit machines. There is a bluetooth solution that has been stickied to the top of the hotsync board, that is the best solution available at this time.

  • Hot sync says Palm Zire has successfully synced but no data (using Windows 7 32 bit)

We have a Win XP desktop on which an older version of Palm Desktop has been working for years and been able to sync with my Palm Zire and my husband's Palm Z22.  Now that we have to decomission Win XP desktop have installed Palm Desktop by Access v6.2.2 and Hotsync v7.0.2 on Win 7 32bit laptop.
My husband has a Palm Z22 and has had no problems setting up user and syncing using Palm Desktop by Access when using Windows 7.  However, although the Palm Desktop has correctly indentified by device as a Zire and hotsync via cable says it completes successfully no data appears on the Desktop.  In reverse, when I add a new contact on Palm Desktop and sync it does not appear on the handheld.
Have tried downloading and installing driver from:
    http://aceeca.com/support/sales-support/downloads/product/drivers-32-bit-usb-windows-driver-for-palm...
However, when I followed the instructions provided with teh 64 bit download my laptop said I already had most up to date driver!
Please help as I rely on my Zire and need it to back up successfully.

Hello, and Welcome to the HP Support Community!
The Aceeca drivers are ONLY for 64-bit Operating Systems.  Since yours is 32-bit, it's not needed.
Try right-clicking on the shortcut for Palm Desktop, then choose "Run as Administrator".  See if the data appears.
Another suggestion would be to turn off "UAC" or User Access Control.   Control Panel/Users/Turn off UAC.

  • How do I Hot Sync my palm Address Book to original Mac Address Book?

MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.7)
MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

I am a little unclear about what you mean, but if you are referring to Apple's Address Book and iCal, the best way to sync a Palm Pilot with it is to download and pay for a wonderful shareware program called Missing Sync and use it. Missing Sync is available at http://www.markspace.com
You can also do this by using Apple's iSync, but Missing Sync is much better. For details on how to use iSync, just look on Apple's iSync web site.

  • Hot sync from Palm TX to desktop

I have a new Palm TX and it keeps changing the time of my appointments on the desktop to an hour later than I enter.  My handheld is correct, but the desktop shows the appointments an hour later.  What can I do?
    Post relates to: Palm Vx

Check to make sure the time on your computer is correct - now that we are in daylight savings time, it could very well be that your computer time is wrong.
You should see the current time displayed on the bottom right of your computer screen. If the time there is wrong, you can change it by double-clicking on it. A box will come up with a calendar and clock which you can update.

  • Hot sync Palm m500

I have a couple of old, but ever so useful, Palm m500/m505  PDAs,  which I could hot-sync with my old PC running on Windows XP.  Now I have up-graded to PC with Windows 7 Home Version - 32 bit and am at my wit's end trying to hot sync my PDA data on to my PC Palm Desktop.
As I am of the older generation, (a senior citizen), could an expert give me step-by-step instructions on how to resolve my problem.  My Palm m500 PDA has too many contacts to manually transfer.
Also can I convert PDA contacts to Outlook Address Book and then hot-sync with Palm m500 series PDA ?
Waiting anxiously for help and guidance ..........

    Hello myrarego,

  • Palm 755p not supported in Leopard?

I have been syncing my Palm 755p in Tiger using Missing Sync for some time. Then I upgraded to Leopard... Missing Sync didn't hold a connection, and the 6.0 version seems to have it's own problems, so I decided to try iSync.
The problem is that iSync won't even recognize the phone! When I try to add the device it says, "This device is not supported by iSync". But I see that others are using it with iSync in this forum. Any idea what's happening here?
    I'm on a MacBook, with a 10.5.1
    Brad

i had the same issue. I just did not use isync. Only certain devices are supported by isync. i have a 755p Palm. The Palm Treo 755p is not supported on the palm Tungsten and Zire families. The Pocket PC is also not supported see http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/isync/.
You must purchase third party software from http://www.markspace.com/missingsync_palmos.php from mark sync for $39.95. Then your palm Treo 755p can sync with ical and mac address book. Then you can publish your ical and address book to .mac (dotmac).
First, I installed the version of Palm that came on the CD with my phone. Then, I installed the latest version of the Palm v 4.2.1 Rev D from the website at http://www.palm.com/us/support/macintosh/macdesk421revd.html#sysreq. Then I did a hot sync to secure my information. Then I purchased and installed the missing palm sync from mark space. Then I hot synced again. I followed the instructions of letting the mac overwrite the handheld for the first sync. So after the sync i had to export my calendar and contacts from palm then import into ical and address book. Then I synced again.
Afterwards, I published to my .mac and selected update automatically. No problems ever since.
PS. I am running Leopard 10.5.1 on the new 24" imac.

  • Error: "Conduit Manager quit unexpectedly" during Mac Hot Sync

Hello!  After many years of successfully hot-syncing my Palm m500 to my various Macs, i'm suddenly getting an error message every single time my Hot Sync tries to sync the Datebook data:
The application Conduit Manager quit unexpectedly.
Mac OS X and other applications are not affected.
Click Relaunch to launch the application again.
i've already tried reattaching the USB cables and the Palm m500 into the cradle, and rebooting my Mac several times, and removing the "com.palm.xxxx.plist" files and the "Palm Desktop Info" file from my users/library/preferences folder.   and i've spent several hours cruising these forums but nothing has worked.  I've tried hot synching about 10 times in the last 12 hours but i keep getting this same error.
i also tried slowing down my hot sync by pressing the Shift key on my Mac during the entire hot sync, but i still get this error:
    Conduit Manager:  Unexpected error #-111
i tried to paste my full log report below but i ran into the 20k character limit for this form.  since it looks like it's "Thread 4" that is causing the crash, i've deleted other parts of the log report but can send those to you in another posting if that would help.
thanks in advance for any help you can offer!  i love my Palm m500 as I much prefer it to Apple's iCal system and would like to fix this problem so I don't need to abandon my Palm!

I had the same problem syncing my Palm TX with 10.5.8.  After being without my Palm for 3 weeks, I bought Snow leopard, and all was fine again.  I found out at an Apple store that 10.5.8 was full of propblems, and this was one of them.
Fast forward: I've been using 10.6 ever since it was released, happily syncing away with my Palm ... until Friday night (2 days ago), when it stopped working, and then I discovered that Palm does not and will not support Mac OS 10.6.  So I'm urgently trying to migrate everything on Palm to my iPod Touch, exporting to 10.4 on an old iBook, since it will still sync with it, then moving the data to my iMac's 10.6, and then syncing with my iPod Touch.
I'm working on the problem now, and have my Schedule migrated, but now need to get my ToDo, Address Book and Memos done.
The 10.6 Address Book (v5.0.1) doesn't support the Palm's custom fields like Tiger's Address Book (4.0.6).  I can't yet find a way to export the Palm's ToDos in a format that iCal can consume, and Notes on the iPod (for my Memos, possibly) is not supported on 10.6 yet for my iPod Touch.
1 step forward, 3 steps back, so far; but absolutely necessary, now that Palm has withdrawn from the Mac market.
Any ideas on these 3 problem areas, from anyone, would be most welcome.

  • Cannot hot sync with Outlook

    Hello All!
I am trying to hot sync a Palm TX with Outlook.  If I choose Start>Programs>Palm>PIM Conduit Sync> Sync with Outlook, I get "No Palm Desktop to configure or condmgr.dll could not be loaded."  If I try to register condmgr.dl, it will not allow mw to register or unregister it.  If I do a hard reset of the Palm TX, it appears to by synchornizing, but the entries in Outlook and on the Palm do not match.
    The OS is XP Professional.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and thank you for using the Palm Help Forums!
Try uninstalling and reinstalling Palm Desktop and see if that fixes your issue. Just remove Palm Desktop from your Control Panel and go to Add/ Remove Programs. You can download and install the Palm Desktop program on our website at www.palm.com under the support page.
Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

  • Windows Vista 755P hot sync - It works!!

Here is what I did to make it work with a USB Cable:
    1. Remove palm software from computer if you have it installed
    2. Remove outlook 2007 conduit updater
    3. go to registry
    Start>Run>regedit  and do the following:
    4. Current_User
    5. under current user find software and remove the following:
palm should be 2 folders (delete these)
    6. under Current user then go to US Robotics folder and delete it (if you do not have a US robotics modem that is, if you do have a modem open the folder and delete only the Palm entries.)
    7. go to palm website and go to support,
    8. under support go to downloads
    9. at the top of the pager on the right under more downloads download "palm desktop and hot sync manager" MB
    10. get a new copy of outlook conduit updater while your there as well.
    11. Install Palm desktop.
When asked if you want to sync Palm desktop or outlook check the second one. Sync with Desktop and outlook
do all the steps except do not SYNC at this time Make sure you hit Skip
    12. after you complete the desktop manager install install Outlook conduit updater that you downloaded above.
    13. hook up your 755 and hit the button to sync it.....
Please keep in mind that this works for me. Please make sure that you edit your regisrty with caution

I was having trouble trying to sync my 755 to my vista.  I went to the website palm/vista...downloaded the software...tried to install the software on the cd (it should read: DO NOT INSTALL)...and my computer could not hotsync or find drivers... it kept recognizing it as a 680 but warned that it was not installed properly.
That post was the only thing that worked for me.  thank you
Palm's little sticker on the software CD was totally unhelpful
I spent about a week on and off trying to get this thing to work.. Thanks alot for the post. I was able to sync my 755 to my new vista installed laptop flawlessly

  • 755p Hot Sync erased all previously saved pics...Advice Please.

    Hello,
When I Hot Sync from 755p to PC, all pics from device are usually saved to My Documents\Palm OS Desktop\755p\Photos\BackupForInternal\Palm so I typically delete the pics from device because all new pics are added to any that were saved previously to PC and I have all pics I ever took. Unfortunately, I do not have memory card and did not back up the pics from PC to disk.
Today, I Hot Sync and the new pics that were on my device were saved to PC as usual but this time all pics that were saved previously to PC were erased.
How can I get these erased pics back?
Will system restore (Windows XP) to point prior to last hot sync work?
    Thanks!

Unfortunately then the data is lost. I talked to a tech here as well and it might be possible to do the system restore and get the pictures back. But the system restore is meant to recover system data if there was a bad program installed or to recover to an earlier point for better system stability
What are the chances that recovering to an earlier point will recover the images to Palm Desktop?

  • Cant active sync or hot syn my treo 755p

Cant get my treo 755p to sync at all, even when setting up the palm desktop, I have the usb cable connected and then I have to press the sync button on the cable and still it wont sync. The hot sync
screen appears on my treo and it gets to the first little icon and then nothing occurrs.  The power light does go on when I connect it to the usb cable so I am assuming it is working in the very lest, the phone is getting charged by the usb cable.

When you "clean" uninstalled Palm desktop, did you do the procedure in the following instructions for the "clean" uninstall.
You should first make a copy of your data to have just in case something
happens. You can find your data files by going to C:\Program Files\Palm or
Palm One. Highlight your Palm Desktop username and right click and copy.
Then go to your PC desktop, right click on a blank spot and select paste.
For Palm desktop 6.2, look in the following location for the folders and files, my documents, PalmOS desktop. You will find the username folder in this location.
Now you want to uninstall Palm Desktop and remove everything that has to do
with Palm Desktop from your computer. Like the above folder, delete the Palm folder. Once this is done, you will need to delete some registry keys
from your PC Operating System registry.
Word of warning, going here and deleting the wrong thing can cause your PC
to not start up, crashing and deletion of programs and data. If you feel
you are unsure of yourself, see if you have a friend that can help you or a
PC technician that you can pay to help you. This will show them everything
they need to delete. To retain your current Registry settings, we need to do a backup of the Registry.
On the PC, go to start and run type "regedit" without quotes
Highlight MY COMPUTER, go to File --> export. Should pop up with a Save As
box. Current location is fine should be in My Documents or you can change to a location you will remember. In the file name box, type "Regbackup[todaysdate]" i.e. Regbackup07072008. Next, the hard part.
The easiest way to make sure your working with the correct key, highlight the key i.e. palm quick install, and press delete on your keyboard. It will ask you, are
you sure. Say yes. Do the same thing for all keys below.
If you make a mistake, stop what you are doing. And call a PC technician.
BUT do not turn off your computer.
The reg keys are as follows (Note: some of theses reg keys will not be here
but if they are delete them)
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Palm Quick Install
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\PalmOne File Transfer
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Pilot Desktop
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palm
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palm, Inc.
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PalmDesktopAutorun
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\palmOne
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PalmSource
    * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\PalmSource or anything else that says palm
    Next reboot your computer
Then reinstall your Palm desktop from the CD and do a hotsync. If it asks
you for a username and you synced your device before, put in 'test" if you
did not sync before you create a hotsync name.

  • Palm m125 stylus won't work after hot sync

Yesterday I dropped my m125 and the batteries fell out. I didn't notice right away and the system did a hard reset.
When I put the m125 in the cradle and did a hot sync, it updated everything and then I got a message I needed to reset the palm. When I clicked on the reset button, I went directly to a screen that says Preferences on the LHS and Date and Time on the RHS. My stylus no longer works properly at this point. When I touch the home icon, it does not register. If I try to navigate anywhere using the stylus, it registers that I am touching somewhere else on the screen. There is no way I can get to the home screen so I can go through the welcome and calibrate the stylus.
I uninstalled the palm desktop software, restarted the machine and reinstalled the software. Same exact problem. I installed the DigiFix free software, hot synced to add the program and ... same exact problem.
IF I take the batteries out for a hard reset, then the palm is working exactly correctly.
But I can't get any of my information back unless I hot sync, which renders the palm useless again.
IF I could download the keyboard software, I could hypothetically manually add all the lost info a little bit faster than using the touch screen. But I can't find the software and I will be vulnerable to losing everything again if I can't hot sync the stuff back onto my computer.
One other thing I don't know if it is relevant, even after I uninstalled, restarted and reinstalled the palm desktop software, all of my original data was still available. Shouldn't it be gone if I had removed the entire program? Does it matter?
    Post relates to: Palm m125

After the hard reset; are you able to align your screen? If I am following you correctly you are saying this is the case, and only after the sync the digitizer will no longer align.
If this is the case you may have corrupted data in you Palm Desktop. First I would rename the backup folder under your original user name and sync again to see if this will resolve the issue. If not then you can create a new user name in your Palm DT, then hard reset the device again, then choose to sync to the new user name you created instead of the original user name. Then you could export your original data to a (original user name) file, and then import the data under the new user name to restore your data.
When you delete the Plam DT application it does not remove the data file. When you
re-install the Palm DT software it will re-associate to the original data. This is why the data came back.

  • Palm Centro - Vista - Hot Sync Problem

Hello:  I have a Palm Centro (Verizon) and am having major issues hot synching to my new Windows Vista (32 bit) home PC.  I continually get the following error message:
"Error: SgConflictNotifier.dll failed a confirmation query and cancelled the sync operation."
"HotSync Error: An application canceled synchronization or failed to respond to a HotSync notification.  Please ensure that you are not currently editing data using applications such as Palm OS Desktop or Install Tool (8009)."
I am running Hot Sync Manager 7.0.2 and Palm desktop by ACCESS 6.2.2.
When I tried the Hot Sync operation on my old XP computer, no issues whatsoever.   Can anyone help?
    Thanks
