Hotkeys not working
I see many posts about losing the function of hotkeys in XP, Vista and 7 BUT no answers. I specifically mean Fn-F2, Fn-F3, Fn-F5, Fn-F7, Fn-F8, Fn-F9.
Has anyone fixed this problem?
You still haven't mentioned which OS you are running, but, did you read the notes on the site you linked to?
(For Windows XP only) If this software is updated to version 3.02.0000 or higher, it is also required to update the following software.
Access Connections to version 5.50 or higher (for the Fn+F5 key function)
Power Manager to version 1.70 or higher (for the Fn+F3 key function)
(For Windows Vista/XP only) It is required to install Presentation Director version 4.04 or higher.
ThinkPad L410, L510, R400, R500, SL410, SL510, T400, T400s, T500, W500, W700, W700ds.
All other notebooks not listed above.
(For Windows Vista only) The package just support Vista SP1 (service pack 1) or later if the Intel Video driver had been installed.
Hope this helps

Z61e Hotkeys not working in Windows 7
Upgrading all our laptops to Windows 7 this summer. R61, R61i, SL500, and SL510 hotkeys all work fine. R61 works out of the box, SL50x needs drivers. The Z61e hotkeys do the following:
Out of the box they do nothing.
After installing the Z61e hotkey utility, they still do nothing, but the on-screen display shows up when using the windows volume control in the system tray.
I tried installing the SL500 driver (because it has both a hotkey driver and the hotkey utility program) and it does the following:
The volume keys modify the volume in the on-screen display, but they do not modify the actual windows volume.
Any help?Bobo, welcome to the forum,
it's certainly odd that only the volume function is affected, could you take a look at this driver to see if it's the same as that which you installed? It probably is, but it's nice to know. If it's not please give it a try.
Have you tried running system update? It will usually get all the drivers you need to get a system running.

When comes N200 power manager driver for 7? Hotkeys not working without it.
Hello,
Will be there release for power manager driver for Windows 7?
I did install all drivers, could find under download for 7 and infact, without power manager driver hotkeys (sleep, hibernate) on N200 do not work.
Solved it with installing Vista power manager driver with compatibility mode and bingo, all keys started work and I'm able to sleep/hibernate my laptop.
Why isn't there driver for 7 if without it things do not fully function?try these : 32 bit - 64 bit or try smart downloading

T440p backlight and hotkeys not working.
I have a brand new T440p 20AN0069US and was under the impression that it had a backlight for the keyboard.
I am also having issues with hotkeys F8-F12. I have installed hotkey integration but have had no change to those keys.
I did have a previous issue of hotkeysF5-F7 not working but installing the Intel Display Driver solved those issues.Hi Sipesj1,
Welcome to Lenovo Community!
As per the query we understood that you are facing multiple issues on your ThinkPad T440p.
Is the keyboard is having Backlit indication on the space bar, if it is there then the backlit is available and you have to use Fn+Space bar to enable or to disable it.
And regarding the function keys please check if the Lenovo power manager is installed in your system. You can install it through ThinkVantage system update utility.
Hope this helps.
Best regards,
Hemanth Kumar

Some of the hotkeys on my Helix are not working: microphone mute (F4 key), settings (F9), search (F10) and whatever the F11 and F12 keys are supposed to be. I did install the Hotkey Features Integration for Windows 8. So I have the On Screen Display version 7.12.20, and Lenovo Patch Utility version 1.3.1.1 installed. I reconfirmed these version numbers by following the steps on "Determining which Version is Installed". When I check the Services on my Helix, I noticed that both the Lenovo Hotkey Client Loader Service and the Lenovo Microphone Mute Service are not running, even though they are set to start automatically. If I try to start either one, I get "Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion". What service could be missing?
The error message appears when I attempt to start the services manually. The services are not disabled, as they are set to run automatically. However, I suspect they silently fail to start when I am booting up.
Link to picture
When I check the dependencies for both services, below is what I see. The missing service does not appear since I don't have it installed. I would like to find out what the missing service is.

SL510: Fn Hotkeys not working in Windows 8.1
I upgraded my SL510 with a new SSD and installed Windows 8.1 x64. Now some of my fn keys are not working anymore.
For example: fn + Insert (=print) is still working, fn + F5 (=Wifi) is not working anymore.
The only possible fix for this I found in my research might be this link:
http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds029026
But the SL510 is not listed in the Supported ThinkPad Systems.
Please advise.Try this one?

BIWidgets SHIFT+F12 hotkey not working
Hi,
I'm facing a problem with BIWidgets. I created some widgets on my desktop. Then I opened another window (say firefox) to hide them. I used the SHIFTF12 hotkey to show the widgets but it didn't. I tried many times but it didn't work. I added another widget on the desktop and then surprisingly, when I presse the SHIFTF12 hotkey it worked and the widgets appeared. I tried to make sense to this observed behavior butI couldn't. Why this hotkey doesn't work every time?
Did someone face such a problem? Is there a way to make sure that the hotkey will work all the time?
Thanks in advance
Mohamed Ali ChrikiHi,
You might have seen there are very less people working on BI widgets. So less questions and answers.
Can we have a popup or alerter in widgets for specific condition.
Thanks

tryed everything - any other hotkeys are working, dictionary is working properly, changing that hotkey had no results.
need your assistanceThe solution was published by Apple Support for another problem with the International System Preference pane, that also fix your Dict. problem.
Just follow the instructions on:

However, now none of these keys are working. It is somewhat annoying, as I only just got them working!

I can't get mine working in Arch XFCE either. In Fedora 15 Gnome, I get the same acpi events as in Arch, but I can actually use them.
In Arch If I call an action file in XFCE from: Applications Menu > Settings > Keyboard > Application Shortcuts, and use Fn + F3 (for instance) as the shortcut, XF86Battery is what is displayed as the shortcut. Pressing Fn + F3 doesn't call the action file though. If I do not assign Fn + F3 to this action file, pressing Fn + F3 does nothing except generate an acpi event. BTW, I tried running the action file [root@myhost actions]# ./blank.sh and the file works (also works by running as a regular user), so the problem is not the action file.
Here is my action file: /etc/acpi/actions/blank.sh
#! /bin/sh
/usr/bin/xset dpms force off
In Fedora 15 Gnome, if I call the same action file in a similar way with the keyboard shortcut Fn + F3, Battery is what is displayed as the shortcut. Pressing Fn + F3 runs the action file in Fedora. If I do not assign Fn + F3 to this action file, Fn + F3 brings up a battery info dialog box (not unexpected).
Something is broken. I don't think anyone has thinkpad_acpi working in an up-to-date Arch install. Someone should file a bug report, but it won't be me.
EDIT: I am using a Lenovo ThinkPad X220.

Step backward hotkey not working while using brush tool? - Photoshop CC 2014
Hi,
I'm using Photoshop CC 2014 in Mavericks. I've tried using the step backward hotkey (command+option+z) and it seems to work fine. Then I use the brush tool and it stops working until I switch to another tool. I'm a digital artist, so I move very quickly while painting, and switching out of the brush tool to step backward on something slows me down terribly. I'll switch and the hotkey works as intended. I've tried changing it to a different set of keys (for example command+z) with the same results. Is this a bug or a feature?Usually it turns out for tablets that aren't mainstream that they just haven't updated their drivers to work with photoshop cc.
For example, most people don't have problems with wacom tablets in photoshop cc.
One other thing that could possibly be the cause besides the tablet driver is your graphics card driver.
If in photoshop cc you go to Edit>Preferences>Performance and turn off Use Graphics Processor and then restart photoshop cc, does that make a difference?
If it does then perhaps your graphics card driver needs to be updated from the maker of the card.

Sound Hotkey Not Working?!?!
Just bought a Satellite C655-S5132 and everything works great except the hotkey (Fn) + volume adjust (#3 , #4 up and down respectively)
I have gone and tested every other hotkey and have not had any problems. I checked to make sure the audio drivers are correct and updated....?
I thought maybe it would only adjust the volume when there is a audio or video file playing but it doesn't work at all...?
Is there a way to configure or troubleshoot the hotkeys?
Any thoughts?I would try reinstalling TVAP

IBM External Keyboard Hotkeys not working with T60.
Hi,
I have connected an IBM External keyboard to my T60.
Everything is working fine except the hotkeys on top of the keboard and Access IBM button.

Does anyone know how to fix it?
Thanks,

Solved!
Go to Solution.Hi sim_tcr!
If you search Lenovo Suppport & downloads for "USB Enhanced Performance Keyboard" you should come up with Vista and XP/2000 drivers.
Not having one of those keyboards myself, I can't say for sure that the drivers include the hotkey functionality, but I'm guessing from the size of the download that it is not just simple keyboard driver software.
Tell us if that works!

Fn Keys or Hotkeys not working on T61 with Windows XP since last update
System: T61 7662 CTO, Windows XP
It's been a few months now and there's no new update to solve my problem. I have looked around the forum. I have found similar problems but not exactly the same problem.
Ever since the last patch of update, the "ThinkVantage" key and most of the Fn Keys don't work. The non-functional Fn-keys include "Fn+F2, F3, F5, F7, F8, F9." The funny thing about Fn+F7 is that the screen flashes, but the normal display choices are not shown, and it goes back to normal display.
On the contrary, the volume and brightness keys are functional and are properly displayed. Also, Fn+F4 (sleep) and wake-up by Fn+Enter works. Fn+Space (magnification) works too.
I've also tried other successful solutions from other cases in this forum, but they all failed in my case. These includes:
updating to the newest drivers
Installing Lenovo System Interface Driver
uninstalling and reinstalling in some kind of sequence
Reverting the Hotkey back to the previous driver
Thanks.I've too this problem, but more, my sound mute wasn't worked (for deblock, but it can block it few second before...) 5 days in 5-6 instalation of three version of winxp: winxp ru x64 sp2, winxp es/ru sp3 x32.
eventually I've found and ran "TPOSDSVC.exe" in instalation directory and it give an opportunity deblocking the sound volume!!!!!!!!!!!! and I don't need more functions
volume levels and brightness adjustment worked well without OSD (before I ran TPOSDSVC.exe) and with OSD.
and now I don't know worked this bustered sound driver in winxp x64.

General hotkeys not working correctly
I have created hotkeys using automator (services) so that I could quickly launch things like Safari, terminal, etc., but only one of them is working. At first I believe that they all worked, but then stopped.
I am able to launch safari at any time, the hotkey being: cmd-alt-Z
however, I cannot launch the terminal or textmate: cmd-alt-(T or Y)
I am only able to launch textmate or terminal when I am in the automator window or system preferences - at least these are the only places i've noticed it working so far..
When I am on the desktop it just makes a noise. I have tried other keys, but they don't work either (such as with A)..
Does anyone know why this might be?Hello
I dont know how it works exactly by US notebooks but please be sure that you have installed Common modules at first. It is the basic tool and must be installed before you start to install other Toshiba stuff.
I also hope that you download all you need from right download page
