Hotmail accounts not working on iPhone 6 - IOS 8.3?

I've realised over the last few days that I've not been getting emails on my iPhone, they do still come through on my Mac. I read a few threads that seem to put it down to the new IOS upgrade, but I can't remember when I upgraded to IOS 8.3 and when the emails stopped coming, but it does seem quite coincidental.
I thought I delete the accounts on my iphone but it won't let me, it just keeps hanging with the screen showing deleting, but it doesn't delete. I have to force a quit out of settings to get out of the screen.
I also tried sending an email from each account to see if it would work but it also hangs on sending at the bottom of the screen.
My iPhone 6 is only a few weeks old and I'm not sure what I'm meant to do now. Why can I not delete the email accounts? Why has my iPhone stopped sending and receiving them?

At first I thought it was a COS, College of the Sequoias, as in the college I'm going to, Hotmail situation BUT it turns out it's a Hotmail in general situation because my other Hotmail account doesn't show my inbox or sent mail at all. I sent up my Hotmail account properly, go to it on the mail app, click on it and the inbox is empty. So is the sent box. Go to hotmail on the browser..there's all my mail! Just not in my Hotmail account in the mail app! I tried to set my Hotmail account on Jennifer's iPhone 4S.. No luck. Same thing happened when I tried on mum's iPad!
The strange thing is my COS hotmail account WAS set up on their BEFORE then iOS6 update just flawlessly. I get my iPhone 5 and decide to delete my email accounts from the iPad now that I have my phone. When hotmail decided to go all wonky I tried resynchronize my COS hotmail on the iPad again because I know it worked there. But I had updated the software since then. Thus it not working now!
My gmail and yahoo accounts are working flawlessly on my mail app however the Hotmail..not so much! I've been doing some research on the net..could the update be the problem?? If so, I can't wait for the iOS 7 software update!

The main inbox does not sync at all. In addition, the problem seems to be strictly with Apple Mail on my iMac and MacBook Pro. The issue does not occur on my iPhone 6 or iPad Mini. I was very pleased with Apple Mail until now.

I am having real problems with my hotmail account not working on my IMac but works absolutely fine on my Iphone 5. Can anyone help with the setup for iMac. I am with BT for my Broadband. I am cionverned if I route my Hotmail accoutn to GMail will iy stop working on my Ipone.

How are you accessing Hotmail? Via your web browser? Are you using Apple Mail? Outlook?
The answer will be different depending on how you want to access Hotmail.
If you are using an email client (like Apple Mail, Outlook, Entourage, etc.)) then you need to set up a mail account in your email software.
The incoming Hotmail settings are these:
Incoming server: pop3.live.com
User name: Your full Hotmail email address (aka "me @ hotmail.com" or "me @ live.com")
Password: Your Hotmail password
POP port: 995
Use SSL to connect : yes
The outgoing Hotmail settings are:
Outgoing server: smtp.live.com
User name: Your full Hotmail email address
Password: Your Hotmail password
SMTP port: 587 (override the default port if necesssary)
Use SSL to connect : yes

Hotmail account not working on Yosemite's Mail app

I've tried everything I've found on the internet so far trying to get my hotmail account to work the way it was before my update to Yosemite, with no success. A few days ago it stopped syncing messages properly, and now it just shows them as downloading but it never finishes the syncing.
I even left it working overnight with the mail app open, nothing else, prevented from going to sleep mode or shutting down, and it kind of worked, downloading some of the messages that were pending, but others just won't do it no matter what. I've tried Deleting the Account, restarting and Adding it again, also tried changing the imap server information to different options I've found, no difference.
I also tried Outlook for Mac with all my accounts, and the hotmail account seemed to work better which means the problem is between Mac Mail and the Hotmail account itself. The problem is I don't want to use Outlook for Mac because showed other problems with my Gmail accounts, which renders it unsuitable to handle all my mail accounts. Apple Mail was flawless until my update to Yosemite, not cool.
Does anybody have the same issue?

Mbox hotmail account not working

I have just completed the latest software download on my iPhone and now I can't use my mbox hotmail account. Not able to get or send any emails. Can anyone help?

I just checked my two hotmail accounts and they work fine. I actually had not used them in probably a year, so I had to set them up in MAIL. (Hotmail seems to attract a lot of spam) No problems here.
One thing that sometimes helps when there's a corruption of some sort is to delete the account (but back up your e-mail first) and then set it up again from scratch.
I had a big problem with the Keychain about a year ago. It was really corrupted bad. I forget what I finally did to correct the situation, but I believe there is a Tech support article on this very subject on Apple's web site.

I'm trying to use my hotmail address for my mail feature, but I don't know what the incoming/outgoing host names are supposed to be, and I don't know if I'm supposed to use IMAP, POP, or Exchange. Help, please!!

I looked into this some. Turns out that hotmail does not support pop3 and imap email clients. Reason being that the greedy corporate fools want you to access your inbox through a web client in order to spit advertisements at you. Thier is a non-comissoned program called Hotpop that you can run on your PC (must always he on and connected for this to work) but it is too much of a hassel of you ask me. Your best bet is to move over to gmail or yahoo mail that do provide these services (and a lot more storage space)

Currently having an issue with my me email account on my new iPhone 5s. I restored from an iPhone 5 backup a few months ago when setting up my new phone and I can't seem to get my emails or calendar working for my me account. It still works fine on my ipad though so I don't believe it is down to the account itself. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you :)

Try these as needed:
1. Reset phone - press both home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appears.
2. Delete and reinstall the account
3. Restore phone in iTunes using a backup
4. Restore as a new iPhone

ITunes account not working with iPhone

Wasn't even sure what to call the subject on this. When I first got my iPhone, iTunes worked fine, getting apps, and whatever purchases. Then I did a reset, and it stopped working. Also, my computers were stolen, and I had to get a new MBP, and hence reset my iTunes password. So on the iPhone, it lets me sign on, but then says my settings have changed, and I'm directed to another log in window. Then it says there's a problem with my payment settings, (paypal not supported), and to go to my computer to reset this. I'm so confused! I have a CC on file on the computer, not PayPal. How on earth do I get the phone to sync with my computer, and have them working the same?

ITunes Not working in iPhone iOS 7

When trying to access iTunes in iOS 7 I see it try to start and then it quits. I have tried to reload it but that doesn't work, I guess because it appears to the download system that I have a copy, my guess is that it is somehow corrupted in my phone. What to do, who to call.

Found the answer. Restore iOS 7 which turns out to be rather simple and straight forward and not as time consuming as the initial download. Hook the iPhone to your computer and go to iTunes and select the iPhone when it shows up in the sidebar, this will bring up a window that shows a number of options. Backup your iPhone by choosing one of the hree options provided and when done select "Restore" the iPhone. Be sure to select the backup that best suits your needs and desires as any purchased Apps can be lost during this process and they will have to be reloaded or repurchased.

Mail with Hotmail account not working.

I use my Hotmail from the Mail app and days ago it requested me my password again so I typed it CORRECTLY and it doesnt logs in, it keeps saying me "The Hotmail POP server “pop3.live.com” rejected the password for user "[email protected]" "
I already tried logging in from the web page and it works perfectly fine with the same password.
What is the problem? Someone help !

you're password is too long, for some reason mail tends to do weird stuff if your password is too long, i had the same issue and changing the password to something shorter worked (using 10 characters now)

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
