Hotmail folders not showing up in Mail

Hello.
I am new to Apple Mail.  I have a Hotmail/Windows Live account that has folders I created (eg. Personal, Business, Follow up, etc.) for organizing messages.  When I was using Outlook for Windows, I had no problem syncing these folders.  But, I switched to Apple Mail, and the only folders that sync are Inbox, Trash, and Junk.  I switched to Outlook for Mac, and I still have the same problem.
I would appreciate it if any of you guys help me solve my problem.
Thanks,
George

There is no solution, as Barney pointed out Microsoft choose to support POP only on a Mac.

  • Hotmail folders not showing on new macbook pro

    Hi there
I jsut purchased the new macbook pro retina display but whilst configuring my email i noticed that it did not copy my folders that i use in hotmail to seperate work and private mails. Anybody got an idea to solve this?
It also did not sync my sent items that are in hotmail

Install logs were fine.  Application installed but wouldn't run properly.  Finally got Adobe support and it turns out to be a file permissions error.  Had to add both applications and myself as accessors of Lightroom folder under path ~/Library/Adobe/  and set permissions to read & write (was read only for everything but system) and apply to all enclosed folders.   Runs fine now.  Including this here in case anyone else runs across this issue.

  • Why are all of my hotmail folders not showing up? They previously were and now the only thing that shows up his inbox and trash. I have tried deleting and reinstalling hotmail under settings and add mail account but it is still only giving me the inbox.

I can access all my folders in hotmail when I log on from google but they don't show up and just the general mailbox. I don't want to have to logon to Google every time I want to check my Hotmail but I also need to be able to see all my subfolders that I created under the inbox. There are many time to do not wish to delete the message but at the same time I don't want to leave them in the inbox forever.  I tried restarting my iPhone 4s which has the update seven-point whatever it is now and also went and try to create an exchange account where it did not let me do it. Any help or suggestions as welcome. If you could please send answer to my email at [email protected] I would really appreciate it and I probably will forget my password here to get back on again

Try deleting your hotmail account and then adding it back as an Outlook account instead of "other". It worked for me.

  • MobileMe folders not showing up in Mail

I have created two folders in MobileMe to save email in. They are showing up on my iPhone and my iPad, but not in Mail. My me.com email address is set up as an IMAP account but isn't showing up like my Gmail IMAP account does in Mail with its own set of folders, etc. Any idea what I need to do to make this work in Mail? My me.com email comes into Mail in the Inbox so at least I can read it from Mail, but I have to leave it in the Inbox if I want to see it online or on my iPhone or iPad.

I figured out what was wrong. The change I made in System Preferences/Mobile Me wasn't saved. You'd think I would remember that step.

  • Hotmail folders not showing in the Hub

After the Hotmail/Outlook outage, the drop down menu no longer exists. It used to be that I can click on the drop down menu, and I can see the different folders I have. Now everything is just jumbled together and I cannot view by folder.
I have a Gmail account, and everything with Gmail is working fine. I can see all the folders that I want. I can turn on or off folders and the Hub will show exactly what I specified. So I'm guess this is an Outlook/Hotmail problem?
Please let me know if you have encountered this, and how you were able to fix it.

    Hey newz10,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
I suggest going into Settings>Accounts and remove the Hotmail account and then re-add it.
Let me know if the folders do not appear.
    Cheers.

  • Messages located in sub folders do not show in iPad Mail

Using iPad mail with Microsoft Exchange sync works great at the inbox level but any messages that are in sub folders do not show up in Mail on the iPad. All of the sub folders show up but do not show messages. In addition, I am not able to collapse the parent folders, the result is a very long list of empty folders. The exception is emails that I move to the folders on the iPad do show up if the folder is selected on the iPad. Looking for solution.

Has anyone else noticed the following?
I've synchronized with Exchange and am noticing some odd mail behaviour:
    - I have folders in my PC Outlook inbox
    - when I have mail open on my ipad, and a new message comes in, if I happen to be an a subfolder (example a special folder for messages from my boss or whatever) all the new mail goes to that folder instead of the inbox.
    - even weirder, it stays there when I go back to my PC and Outlook.
Not very useful long term since I end up with seriously misfiled mail...

  • Mail-enabled Public Folders not showing as enabled in PFMC or EMS

    Good morning
I have some PF's that are mail enabled, but running the Get-PublicFolder cmdlet shows "mailenabled" attribute as False. Also, in the PF Management Console, the folder shows as not mail enabled (with an option to enable it).
I found this thread that seems to be related:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/918aad03-c96f-4023-89cc-ec2c66e51b93/mailenabled-public-folders-not-showing-as-mailenabled?forum=exchangesvrgenerallegacy
I'd like to do some testing, but recreating this issue with a test PF is actually really hard.
Does anyone know a way to force that "mailenabled" attribute to False after mail-enabling a PF? I can't find any ADSI attribute that is obvious. I changed MsExchRecipientTypeDetails to <not set> but that didn't do it...
**UPDATE** I just found out that msExchMailboxGuid is missing from that object. Does anyone have any kind of suggestion for how I can find the Guid of the mailbox that is no longer associated with this PF?
**UPDATE 2** I have found other PF's that are missing this attribute, but they are not displaying any symptoms. They are showing as mail enabled in the EMS and PFMC. So I guess this isn't a required attribute.
Could anyone explain the purpose of this attribute for mail-enabled public folders? I just assumed it was required.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Do you migrate these mail-enabled public folders from previous Exchange server to Exchange 2010?
Please check if you can see the SMTP address for mail-enabled public folders via Properties of Public folders.
Please check if they show in the Microsoft Exchange System Objects in ADUC.
Besides, I recommend you mail disable the public folder and then mail enable it again to check the result in the Public Folder Management Console.
For a mail-enabled recipient, a minimum set of attributes is required to make all Exchange components work properly. For example, a mail-enabled entry (a user, contact, group, or public folder) has to have at least these attributes: mailNickname, legacyExchangeDN,
and displayName. Without the mailNickname attribute, an object is not considered mail-enabled.

Does anyone have problems with sent messages not showing in their Mail? I have two sent folders when really I only want one. Any tips?

    Not sure if this is a fix, but I tried sending myself a test email from only  the Bcc field, and lo and behold it now shows the Bcc field in all sent item previews;
...maybe leaving the 'To' field blank on purpose forced Mail to show it.
Rebooted the Mail program, still there - rebooted the machine, still there. Hope this is still relevant and it works for you too - J.

    Dear Si/Madam,
    I am using office 2013 standard sp1,

some of the folders not showing in the folder list. but i can able to view the all the folders in Webmail.
    Please Help on this issue...

A POP3 account can only download from the Inbox folder. If you want to your folders to synchronize with the mail server, you'll need to configure it as an IMAP account.

  • When pasting from Excell the table border is not showing in Yahoo mail

    Dear Sir/Madam
I am mis execitive , preparing the reports in Excell and sending it through email. But when i paste something from Ms excell , the table borders lines is not showing in Yahoo mail.
    Please help

    Dear All ,
Even I got annoyed due to this stupid thing ,
Let me share you how i worked around this ,
(1)Once you copied the table from Excel or Open office Calc, to thunderbird mail , It will appear the table with dotted line.
(2)Now you have to double click in any single cell it will prompt the ‘Table properties’ box .
(3)Now click on ‘Table ’ tab and under ‘Borders and Spacing’ Section set ‘Border’ ‘1’ instead of ‘0 ‘
That’s it ... it will show you the border lines of table copied from source file 

double clicking a new e-mail does NOT show whole e-mail unless I go to forward or reply. In other words, I may see a couple sentences, then it's just blank, no scroll bar either. This gets annoying. Anybody else get this or know how to overcome this?

Well, there is no such thing as an AOL type account in Mail. Such an account must be set up as either POP or IMAP. Nevertheless, knowing that the ISP for one of the accounts is AOL is useful because it seems that other people also have this problem with AOL -- see Chuck Coulson's and smackwell's posts in this thread.
I don't think I'll be able to help you with the AOL account other than telling you to try rebuilding the mailbox -- select the mailbox and choose Rebuild from the Mailbox menu. Have you tried that?
The problem shouldn't happen with the POP account, however. Do you experience the same problem with it as well?

  • Why does Local Folders not show up when I install Thunderbird on certain computers?

I've installed Thunderbird on my computer and it looks normal with "Local Folders" showing up in the left pane. I didn't add an email account, I just installed Thunderbird and an add-on called ImportExport tool and left it with only Local Folders. But when I try to do the same thing and install it on someone else's computer to help them import an .mbox file, when I install Thunderbird on their computer, "Local Folders" is not there. The left pane is just completely blank. And it looks like I can't import an .mbox file without it being there. I tried installing it on another laptop too and the same thing happened with no Local Folders. Why is "Local Folders" not showing up for these other two computers?

I circumvented the problem by copying the c:\users\username\appdata\local\thunderbird folder and the c:\users\username\appdata\roaming\thunderbird folder from my working PC to the nonworking computers, and Local Folders appeared in Thunderbird on those computers. It seems like these files aren't being generated properly on installation.
I tried uninstalling Thunderbird from my working PC and reinstalling it again to see what would happen (after also deleting those two appdata folders so that fresh ones would be created), and this time Local Folders did not appear on my PC as well. I don't think I did anything different during installation either. So I'm not sure why the Local Folders are no longer being generated at installation.
