Hotmail in IMAP not working

Hello everyone,
I added a hotmail.com email address in IMAP (formerly configured POP3 and it worked very well).
The automatic assistance has filled Incoming server (IMAP-mail.outlook.com) and outgoing (smtp-mail.outlook.com). I added the password in both cases.
I have the "sent messages" correctly imported,
I can send emails from this address,
but I have no message pushed in my inbox even after synchronizing the account.
In connection doctor, everything is in green and I have no error message ..
The problem seems to be in the incoming server but I can't find what's going wrong...
Someone has already encountered this problem?
I already tried to delete and add the account back but the problem persists.

  • My hotmail account is not working in safari on ipad2

    My Hotmail is not working properly ever since the iOS upgrade.  If I hit reply or delete or forward it does not respond.  I've cleared the cache and then it works for about three emails then stops functions properly again.  I know I can view my email in Mail, but not all of my inbox transferred over since the upgrade.  Is anyone else experiencing this?

  • Hotmail in Safari not working since Yosemite was downloaded

    Good morning.
    I installed Yosemite (version 10.10.2) yesterday on my imac and since then cannot open Hotmail in Safari (everything freezes or once I got the message 'Safari can't find server').
    I was normally login in to hotmail using dub125.mail.live.com
    I have already cleared my search history. And one of the Apple chat help persons told me to do a safe reboot, which did not change anything.
    Any idea what I should do?

    Try a restart.
    Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
    Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

    Is the user using Gmail?
    First, we need to confirm the account status is healthy, let the user logon Webmail to send and receive emails to check if there is any error.
    Then, make sure the IMAP settings are correct as below:
    Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - Requires SSL
    imap.gmail.com
    Port: 993
    Requires SSL:Yes
    Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - Requires TLS
    smtp.gmail.com
    Port: 465 or 587
    Requires SSL: Yes
    Requires authentication: Yes
    Use same settings as incoming mail server
    Full Name or Display Name: [your name]
    Account Name or User Name: your full Gmail address ([email protected]). Google Apps users, please enter username@your_domain.com

    Another possible cause is that the data file of this account has corrupted, I suggest you run Scanpst.exe to repair the data file(.ost) and check the result.
    The default location of Scanpst.exe should be:
    32-bit Windows

    64-bit Windows
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15
    64-bit Outlook
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15

  • Evolution imap not working?

    Hi,
    Archlinux gets updated every two or three days on my laptop. Since 27 april 2011 I didn't use evolution, so I guess I have updated the system a few times. Yesterday I was not able to check my imap-mail from evolution - also sending an email through SMTP did not succeed. Checking it with thunderbird went perfectly, as well as sending that email through SMTP.
    Anyone else having the same problem? In what logfile does evolution/gnome output its errors, so I can submit a bugreport...

    Further to my earlier post today. Deleting my BT a/c in mac mail yesterday and adding back as new A/C did not work and both my A/c and my wife's continued to time out. I finally went into the a/c settings once more, deleted my password and re-entered it and saved the change. Surprise surprise, this re-established imap contact and downloaded all my folder contents once more. Not only that, it restarted my wife's e-mail in her logiin without the need to delete and re-enter her separate E-mail password. My password is the master for using BT Broadband and somewhere this had got lost/ corrupted in requesting imap mail to our iMac. I hope this is a permanent solution and hope this helps others whose imap service fails.

    I am having issues with my mail on my iPhone 4 iOS 4.3.3
    I use IMAP from sky, and I have checked all the settings multiple times with the sky support, however I keep getting the following error
    Cannot Get Mail
    The mail server 'imap.tools.sky.com' is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account info in mail settings.
    These details are correct, as I have not changed them. This just stopped working, I did not do an upgrade.
    I have deleted and readded my account multiple times, and also been working with sky to get this issue sorted, however there is not a problem there end, so I must be doing something wrong, or my phone is not working properly.
    Does anyone have anything additional that I can do?

  • Won't connect to server - hotmail and BBM not working.

    I have two problems which I think may be connected through my phone's inability to connect to the server. 
    - First off, my contacts can't receive my BBM messages. I can write and send them off but they aren't received.
    - Secondly, my email account (hotmail) is not working on my BB. It's supposedly connected and logged in, yet I don't receive any mails on my phone, nor do contacts receive anything I send. When I try to access my email account options, a message pops up stating "Your device had a problem connecting to the server." 
    Everything was working fine before I had to duplicate my SIM card (it was scratched somehow) and battery.
    So my question is, how do I reconnect my BB to the server?

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
    KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
    Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books
    KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
    If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
    KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Reboot
    With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
    See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should again try deleting and re-adding your configurations for the affected email accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.

    IMAP email retrieval has stopped working with this release of IOS..
    It claims to be connecting, doesn't show an error. but no new email shows up...
    IOS 8.1.1, iPhone 5, no other configuration changes.

    ive just come from a client that seems to have the same issue.
    We tested his ipad, iPhone and my iPhone all on 8.1.1. No new email snice 21/11/2014 via IMAP on ISP based email.  Called ISP they said they have not seen many calls like this.
    No error messagez
    can send emails
    can delete emails, and they move to IMAP trash on all 3 devices.
    His MacMail works, though has been a little erratic sinice Yosimite.

  • IMAP not working after 10.2 OS release

    I have 3 email accounts on my Q10 all with different providers set up using IMAP and SMTP. Everything worked fine through OS 10 and 10.1. It stopped worked yesterday when I installed 10.2 yesterday. I can now no longer receive emails, but I can still send. If I change the settings to SMTP then I can receive but I can't sync with Outlook.
    I have deletid the account and tried to add it, but it will only work with SMTP with SSL turned off.
    Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix this

    After several lengthly conversations with T-Mobile (UK) who couldn't duplicate the problem - I gave them access to a test email address and it worked fine for them - I have managed to get them to send the phone off for repair. They tried to pass the buck to Blackberry, but after pointing out that my contract was with them, the phone was supplied by them and the upgrade was from their servers, they agreed to take responsibilty. I'm not sure if you 'Sales of Goods Act' and 'Fit for Purpose'  law in U.S. but you must have something similar.
    To be fair to T-Mobile, once I got  past their first line of defence and through to their technical department they were extremely helpful.
    Unforunately, If the phone comes back fixed I won't know what the problem was to advise you, and if they can't fix it, I'll be getting a new one.
    If I do find out, I will let you know. 2-4 weeks wait time though!

  • IMAP not working after installing GWAVA

    BM 3.8; NW 6.5; GW 6.5. Just set up a GWAVA 4.5 SMTP scanner inside
    BorderManager and before GWIA (BM now NATs the A record public IP
    address to the internal GWAVA address, rather than to the internal GWIA
    address). I assume as a consequence of the public IP address now
    pointing to the GWAVA box and not directly to GWIA, IMAP now doesn't
    work b/c it cannot connect to the GWIA ("mail.domain.com is not an IMAP
    4 server"), although the IMAP to gmail still works. In another forum it
    was suggested that using BM port forwarding is a possible work around:

    However, this link describes the BM port forwarding workaround where
    there was only one public IP address, whereas i have several, and most
    importantly one dedicated to my mail. I assume that the relevance of
    the TID is to the public IP dedicated to my A record which now points to
    GWAVA, and no longer to GWIA? That is the public IP can again be NATted
    to GWIA so that IMAP works, yet the port 25 inbound mail can at the same
    time be port forwarded to the GWAVA internal address? Finally, how, if
    at all, does this relate to the filter exceptions in place opening port
    25 to inbound mail to GWAVA?

    This has been a common scenario over the years. A mail filtering
    device gets instituted, and non-smtp traffic breaks. In a situation
    where mail was being static NAT'd, you have to find a way to split the
    traffic to two different devices. You have a couple of choices:
    1. Two static NAT's. If you have two public IP addresses you can use,
    one gets static NAT'd to the mail filtering device and the other to the
    mail server. Filter exceptions need to be changed, and public DNS
    records may need to be changed (if using URL's to access non-smtp
    stuff).
    2. Proxy. Convert the static nat to proxy, and redirect the desired
    ports to different internal addresses. DNS doesn't have to be changed,
    but filter exceptions do, and access rules need to be added/changed.
    You also may not be able to use port 110, unless you use mail proxy
    (which has some issues).

  • Gmail - Mail IMAP not working very well

    Hey all, I'm having some trouble with moving from POP to IMAP on my mac. I just set it up and it works fine except for receiving mail and syncing up with gmail online but for some reason I am unable to send emails straight from Mail. It seems that Mail can't connect with the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP). It 's set to send to "smtp.gmail.com" as per the instructions at http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=81379. In the preferences pane that seems to translate to smtp.gmail.com:(my email address).
    Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for reading!

    What are your settings for the Incoming and Outgoing ports; do they match exactly what Gmail advises in their Help page for Mail? If not, it won't work.

  • Hotmail Email account not working on my Phone anymore

    Hi.  I have a Curve 8330 on the Sprint network.  About a day and a half ago I stopped receiving my emails on my phone.  I can't send email either.  SMS, MMS, Blackberry messenger all work fine.  My email account works fine if I log in through the browser.  My wife has the same phone and also has a hotmail email account and hasn't had any problems.
    Any ideas on how to fix this?
