Hotmail no longer opens on my iPad 1
Since HOtmail witched to Outlook Hotmail won't open on my iPad, 1st version. I tried deleting Hotmail & re-opening it but that hasn't worked. I get the message that it can't contact server. The Outlook change may be coincidental, I don't know. Anyone know the fix? Thanks.
Did I do something wrong.

My attachments in my hotmail will not open on my ipad but will on myPc
my emails in my hotmail on my iPad Air show there is an attachment. But there seems to be no way to open them. They will open on myPC but not ipad. Do I have to set something or what?
What are the attachments? If they're a file type the ipad can't natively open then you could have issues and may need an app to handle them.

ITunes No Longer Opening Automatically When iPad is Connected to PC
The option appears greyed out and unchecked when first looking at my iPad setttings in iTunes.
If I uncheck the item in the following pic in Preferences that option changes to checked.
Stilll iTunes refuses to open automatically since iOS 5 update.Good luck getting an answer...I posted the same question a day ago. I can only assume it's a glitch in iTunes 10.5.

i Have had .docx file types sent to me as recent as September 2014, which I could open simply by tapping on the attachment. Now October 2014, they will not open? Why? can this by changed back to all me to open the .docx which I have attached to mail in my emails, pls?
It should still be working for you. Try some basic troubleshooting. Close all apps and reset your iPad.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
You can also try resetting all settings. You will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings. -
I can open some websites on my ipad but not all. The websites that are no longer opening were all working up till 3 days ago when I did the update on the ipad. The websites that I can't open on the ipad i can switch to my macbook pro and open no problem. I have tried to check all settings and just can't figure out what is going on. One of the websites I can no longer open is ikea and also a work related website. I can load the opening page but when I try to sign in it won't do anything including not even an error message. Please help..
I have this identical problem. For a while my group texts didnt show up on my ipad. Then one day they did, maybe everyone in the group started using the same os version or something. Ever since my first reply to the group there have been complaints of multiple threads. I can not find a pattern for when my group text's decide they want to create a new thread. (it doesnt happen every time) Everyone in the group has deleted the thread, we've all toggled imessage on/off etc. There still hasn't been a solution.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have several very important school related documents on my iPad in the Pages app. Ever since i updated to iOS5, i can no longer open any documents in Pages that I made before I updated. Please help
Without the iPad connected, open up iTunes on your computer. Go to iTunes/Preferences/Devices and delete the backups that you're absolutely certain do not have the documents. Refer to figure below.
iTunes, select the iPad and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "NO" to creating a backup. (You don't want to create a new backup that does not have the docs.) You will then be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad. This time, say "yes."
Repeat all of the above as required until you get the docs. -
I have the original ipad (OS 5.1.1) using pages 1.7.2 and backing up to icloud. If I open up one of the docs from icloud, I can no longer open it on my ipad. Looks like the pages version gets updated to a version that is incompatible with my ipad. Is there anyway stopping icloud from changing the version and is there a way to recover the old version of the document on my ipad?

Snow Leopard is required if you wanted to upgrade to Lion, anyway, which you may want to in the future if the latest version of iTunes no longer supports Snow Leopard. -
Hotmail won't open attachments when using Firefox. I'm not sure if this relates to cookies, add ons (I recently addded Ad-blocker and Do not track), or some other type of security setting. I have tried some proposed solutions on the we to no avail. Using Windows 7

Thanks for your suggestion. My problem occurs when trying to open any type of file (at least .doc and .pdf, as far as I know). As I mentioned, when I log into hotmail from another browser, I am then able to open my attachments. I am hoping to figure out how to tinker with firefox so I no longer have this issue. I am not sure what is causing this block, but I know it has to do with Firefox (or settings relating to) or related add ons. -
How do I undo an update to pages 2.1 on an iPad 2? I can no longer open a document previously saved, even when I try to open it in the iCloud and on my Mac.
With IOS Pages v2.0 and v2.1, Apple introduced a new document format that is incompatible with prior Pages versions on IOS or OS X Pages ’09. Opening older documents with these recent versions of Pages will permanently prevent the document from opening in earlier versions of Pages on IOS or OS X.

There is no undo of an iTunes application update, short of forcing iTunes to restore IOS v6 back on that iPad 2. Even if you did that, you won't find the IOS Pages v1.7.2 in the iTunes store now.
IOS Pages v2+ will allow you to export content in Word .docx format. You do this by first tapping the box with an up-arrow in it (next to the left-most +). A menu will slide up — choose Send a Copy. Select a document icon. Pick Mail, and then Word. Your Pages v2.1 document will now be converted to Word .docx, and attached to an email body. Fill in the to address and send. -

Before the reset quit Pages like this:
Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. -
Since updating my iPad several weeks ago I can no longer open iTunes or view or read books on my bookshelf. I took my iPad to Apple at The Trafford Centre where I was advised to restore my pad. This I did using our imac and hopefully saved my software.. The restore did not work and now my pad will still not open iTunes and I no longer have my apps. What can I do to get my purchased books etc. back and open iTunes again?
Most of your purchases content can be downloaded again via the Purchased tabs in each of the store. I realize that this will be a problem for the iTunes Store on the iPad, but that has nothing to do with apps, since apps are in the App Store.
If you backed up synced with iTunes before you restored the iPad, your content should be in iTunes on your Mac and you should be able to sync it back again. -
Numbers on iPad no longer opens files from iCloud
My wife uses her computer to update client files for work (running Mavericks), and her iPhone (iOS7). The problem now is that she uses the iPad during work hours while she is working with clients. We have the original iPad, which cannot update to iOS7, and so it cannot update to the newest version of Numbers. The iPad no longer opens any files that she edits on her computer or phone because they are both updated to the newer version of numbers.
The iPad is her primary need though for the files to work on, so how do we get files to open on the iPad and stay compatible even if edited on her phone or computer. This was never a problem before, but now that iOS7 has automatic updates, her numbers updated to the newest version and she can't go back. Even if we got the older version installed...I assume that the automatic updates would just update it again.
Is there anyway to get this sorted out so that the files just stay in the old format? Or so that the original iPad can open them?It seems this is a known issue with Dreamweaver. I was able to access the files just fine by deselecting "display external links" in the view menu. Strange that I did not have to do this before.

I have the same problem, but when I tried to sync the iPad (iOS5.1.1) with my purchased Pages app to re-install it, what I saw was the original app icon; what I got was the new Pages 2 icon, which only works with iOS7 and above. So is there no support from Apple for legacy versions of apps?

when I open fire fox,click on Hotmail, the page opens with the inbox folder open.cannot click anything? cannot open mail,or any related folders, the cursor changes to a finger, but nothing opens or closes at all? reinstalled evrything, did a restore point. it works on all the browsers, but firefox? been using fire fox for years?
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
