Hotmail on blackberry bold

well since ive had my phone its never let me sign into msn or hotmail it says "invaild email address or password" for both of them but I know its correct as i use the passwords everyday for my laptop? so I dont know why my blackberry wont let me do it? any help?

Whoever you spoke to at O2 didn't understand how it works...refer:http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Social-Lounge/How-This-Site-and-Formal-Support-Work/td-p/2540549What you need to do is activate BIS level services onto your data plan. All services are delivered to end users by the carrier...BB delivers no services directly in this regard. Further, if the folks at O2 can't figure out how to deliver your services to you, then they can escalate internally and formally up to BB for enhanced support...but there is no (free) model to just tell an end user to "call BB for help", for there is no (free) entry point for end users into BB, and in your situation it would just go back around to the carrier anyway since it is they who deliver the services to their end users, not BB. I suggest you try O2 again, but this time find someone who actually understands how BB-specific data plans actually work. If you went into one of their shops, you may well have been there at a time when no one in that particular shop at that particular time actually knows what they are talking about for this. You might be better of ringing them up and asking to be routed to their dedicated BB support folks, who hopefully will actually understand how this works. Basically, O2 needs to activate BIS on your account. Without that, you cannot access the services you desire.
Cheers, and Good Luck!

  • Blackberry Bold 9650 GMAIL EMAIL SETUP HELP

So, I had to pull out my old Blackberry Bold 9650 for the time being and am trying to add my additional email accounts. I had no trouble adding my hotmail and yahoo ones but it keeps giving me an error when trying to add my gmail accounts. The error says "Invalid email address or password. Verify your email address and password. If the error persists, contact gmail.com" I have tried this, no exaggeration, around 50 times. I have even triple checked that I have put in the correct email and password by using my laptop and it is absolutely not working on my phone. PLEASE HELP!

  • Problems with Media and my Blackberry Bold, is it time for me to give up on RIM this is really annoying

    Hello RIM,
Over the past year since owning a Blackberry, I have had on-going issues with syncing my music between my (2) bolds, so I know this is not specific to the hardware, I have also managed 400 BB's on a BES before so I have a fair idea of how to do things and troubleshoot issues.
    1. My music many times has sounded severely distorted through my car speakers, with lots of bad crackle that hurts my ears
    2. Transferring media between my device and my computer is actually really annoying and now I can't even find my playlists on Windows 7
    3. This should be seemless, it should not be buggy and I can't believe, having done so much support with your hardware and software that this continues to be a real problem for me
I have a playbook, 2 blackberry bolds (I had to buy another 1 because Mobilicity does AWS only and Bell was just plain mean to me so I gave up on them).
I am ready to go on ebay and get rid of this stuff because whilst I mostly use it as a phone (the reason I went with BB), it is important that I am able to do other things with it, without having to go through a dozen articles and issues just to get things to work, these should have been ironed out in the bug reporting process.
So I have reinstalled both Itunes and BB Desktop Manager, both manually and via repair and tried even recopying over my playlists, this doesn't work.
I can't believe the lousy support and buggy software, come on RIM, there is no excuses in this market, PICK UP YOUR GAME and update the BDS or I am done and so will the many other people who won't even take their time to write anything about it on here but vote with their wallet.

Well you know the playbook is actually pretty cool but didn't seem to be ready to go out on time and being a late entrant to the market I would have expected them to showcase the playbook better, especially like how Nintendo gets out there and gets everyone playing with it hands on, there are some things about the Playbook that actually make it unique but it has been poorly marketed.
Unfortunately getting BDS and everything to work properly should not be an issue, I have already spent thousands of dollars on hardware and my phone provider, what am I actually paying for here? So I will spell out some things that make the Blackberry Playbook special and what I would have been pushing had I been in charge of marketing. Firstly I would have had a few different campaigns going, one that targeted business corporate customers, regular business customers and the public that use them as their choice of smartphone and open to potentially buying one.
     1. Flash works really great, come on blackberry, why couldn't you team up with Facebook on this one? Facebook looks better on a Playbook than any other tablet I have seen, in fact the web looks better in general.
    2. Stereo speakers(dual), movies sound great, music sounds great and so do games, in this area, Playbook has the upper hand.
    3. USB & HDMI out - Allows much easier portability of presentations and transferring of files and now I believe there is the Wifi Sync as well.
    4. Blackberry Bridge - You know it's like RIM got backed into a corner on this one, but you know, I think this is the most secure way to operate a tablet, I love how when I turn off bluetooth on my bold, my personal and private information is removed and I can pass it to friends and family without my personal communications being looked into, with the other tablets, it's pretty hard to have different people on them, without probably creating different profiles, with the Playbook, you could share it between a team and it would seamlessly operate between them.
     5. True Multitasking - You know, you can play music, whilst playing a game and you can switch between applications, this funtions pretty awesome. I put on some cool music and loaded up a game on the device and someone whom had an Apple device was sincerely impressed he could listen to music whilst reading or playing games etc. This could also enhance Business Presentations that require audio in the background whilst displaying and going through different information / files or charts.
    6. QNX OS - I mean wow Blackberry, this Operating System is fantastic, I love it, this was an EXCELLENT choice and this I will give you 5 stars on, I can't wait to see what QNX can do on the Blackberry and I would not be surprised if the QNX OS became a major OS against the others, it definitely is polished and apps just install and are ready to go in no time.
RIM has been ahead of the game and because of it's great name with-in business circles they have almost sold themselves and whilst it's nice to see that RIM has sold over 250,000 units with-in the first week this could have been drastically improved by realizing when getting into a NEW market, they need to do the proper marketing and get the devices out there with subject matter experts to educate people whom are checking them out so they can share that information with their friends.
Google paid a very large price with their Nexus One because they where over-confident and thought they would sell based on their name alone, this could have been a learning curve RIM did not have to deal with. There are actually other nice things about the Playbook, the apps that are in their app store are pretty cool and when Android apps are available it will be cooler.
I like the size of the tablet I can comfortably reach accross the screen to hit all the keys on the digital keyboard making it any larger and I couldn't hold it in my hands with the same comfort; copping out to apple fan boys thinking they must have a 10.1" tablet is not necessary, this is the perfect size to sit in your hands, some people think they are small but if they actually watch a movie or play a game on it or look at websites by "Playing with it themselves" they will react differently and actually suggest if your going to do a 10.1" tablet, also keep the smaller sized one as well.
    Suggestions :
    - Working on building in more extensions for gaming such as Unity so that games like battlestar galactica online etc could be played online and directions could be replaced by using the gyroscope.
     - Hire more people if you are having problems meeting deadlines, these companies, including Apple are taking risks to win the market, if your going to take a swing at your competitors, please make it a punch and not a jab, the biggest thing you still have on your side is the market you already had and the market share you have been losing and since we all upgrade our devices so often at this time, come out with something special and we will continue to support you. Okay now that I have that off my chest I feel better. DAMMIT !

  • How can i transfer all my data on my iphone 4s to my blackberry bold 9900?

I want to know the quickest and easiest way to transfer all my things from my iphone 4s to my blackberry bold 9900. i understand that most things wont be able to be transffered to the blackberry (apps) as they are not compatible. but things like contacts, photos, voice memos etc..

Sync old iPhone 3G to iTunes on your computer. Then connect new iPhone 4S to computer and Restore from Back-Up of the 3G. This command can be found, on Windows you right mouse click on iPhone name in left column of iTunes, on Mac Option click on iPhone name in left column of iTunes.

  • Why is it so difficult to get an answer on how to connect a Blackberry Bold 9930 to a Windows 7 PC?

I've been jumping through hoops for days trying to get my brand new Blackberry Bold 9930 to connect to either of my two PCs. It will not connect to my new MacBook Pro or a new Windows 7 laptop. I am up to date on all software. This is very frustrating. Can anyone please help? I've read article after article and I cannot believe RIM does not post a fix for this. I've wasted hours trying to get this thing to work. It is no wonder people are moving away from Blackberry.

    Hello,
Well, it works just fine for many people...and there's no way to know, from your post, why it's not working for your specific situation...which quite naturally would preclude posting any sort of fix to your situation. From what you've said, all I can recommend is this:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Desktop-Software-for-PC/Cleanly-quot-Starting-Over-quot-with-...
It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.
Of course, if we could know more about what exactly is going on in your situation, we might be able to provide you with better guidance...but from a report that basically boils down to "it's not working", there's really no direction to go in seeking out help for your specific situation. Details about exactly what you try and exactly what results may be more helpful.
Also, here is the list of other troubleshooting articles...hopefully something will be useful:

Also, check that you are using only root USB ports...no hubs (sometimes the front-side ports are hubs...use a rear USB port). And make sure to try disabling USB power management in your system configuration (Device Manager).
Also check on conflicting software...it has been reported that the software package NTI Shadow&Ninja can cause a conflict; removing them and reinstalling the BB desktop software allows it to install correctly.
Apologies in advance if this is redundant -- there's no way to be sure if you've already seen and tried these. Also apologies if any are not presently available...RIM takes them up and down at will as they revise things.
    Hopefully something there is helpful!

  • How do i convert my data from a blackberry bold to an iphone?

I'm going to be migrating from Blackberry Bold to iPhone 4S and I need to know what will be involved to move all my data (contacts, calendar, etc.) to the iPhone.

You are going to need to be using a supported application to manage your calendar/contacts once you get to the iPhone. It is designed to work with a number of supported applications, and Outlook is one of them. It depends on the OS platform you are using. This allows you to sync the calendar/contacts to the computer and it will then provide a copy of them for you in case you ever have a problem with the iPhone. You can also sync them to iCloud after you get to the iPhone, but initially, you will need to use something to import the calendar/contacts to the computer for that first sync.

    HI John,
So you've tried emptying the Safari cache cleared cookies???
According to that link they are referring to *an older version of Safari (3).*
Go back to that page, scroll down and click No. You can at least provide feedback.
Since you are running Snow Leopard, try opening Safari in 32-bit mode.
Right or control click the Safari icon in the Applications folder, then click: Get Info In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle next to General so it faces down. Select 32 bit mode.
Relaunch Safari. See if that makes a difference.

  • Blackberry Desktop 6.1.0.35 cannot connect to Blackberry Bold

Blackberry Desktop version 6.1.0.35 (6/7/11 bundle 34) cannot connect to my Blackberry Bold 9650 (sw ver. 6.0 bundle 2333).  The previous Blackberry Desktop version (some flavor of 6) was working just fine. When I tried clicking "installed applications", the Blackberry reacted as though it were being accessed by Desktop, but after a little while, the same message about not being able to connect reappeared.  I've been through the checklist of things to check for troubleshooting, and nothing has worked, even after a reboot.  FWIW, I'm running Windows XP.

    Another Updated, I'm getting there,
Moving .rem files to the media folder using the desktop does not unencrypt them.
Mailing an encrypted pic to myself worked fine.
I changed my camera setting to save to the media card and now I can download the ones I just took with the desktop manager so we're now ok for any future pics.
So, is there a way to get the encrypted ones down to my laptop at this point or do I have to mail them all one a time?
    Thanks
    Gary

  • Blackberry Bold 9900 OS software update from version 7.0.0 to version 7.1.0

    Helo Everyone
I tried to upgrade my Blackberry Bold 9900 device software from version 7.0.0 to version 7.1.0 but having difficulties. I tried using the Blackberry Desktop Manager but there was no version 7.1.0 listed among the available updates. Even when I tried to do it directly via the Blackberry official website, Version 7.1.0 was also not listed. Finally I tried to do the update with my phone directly by accessing: Options>Device>Software Updates.
It displayed my Current Version of 7.0.0 Bundle 2406 and an available version 7.1.0 Bundle 1149. But when I Clicked Perform Update to download the new version it showed preparing to download but then displayed an error message such as "The download cannot continue because your device cannot connect to the update server using any of the following methods:Wi-Fi".
Meanwhile, I did not perform the upgrade with Wi-Fi because I have an active blackberry data subscrip of 2GB from my mobile network provider.
Please I need help on how to perform the upgrade from version 7.0.0 to version 7.1.0 with the latest Bundle.
Thank you all as i await your kind solution.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
The simplest way is to, on a PC (you cannot do this on MAC):
    1) Make sure you have a current and complete backup of your BB...you can find complete instructions via the link in my auto-sig below.
    2) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
    3) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed
    http://us.blackberry.com/software/desktop.html
    4) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
It is sorted first by carrier -- so if all you want are the OS levels your carrier supports, your search will be quick. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To truly seek out the most up-to-date OS package for your BB, you must dig through and find all carriers that support your specific model BB, and then compare the OS levels that they support.
    5) Delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
6a) For changing your installed BB OS level (upgrade or downgrade), you can launch the Desktop Software and connect your BB...the software should offer you the OS package you installed to your PC.
6b) Or, for reloading your currently installed BB OS level as well as for changing it, bypass the Desktop Software and use LOADER.EXE directly, by proceeding to step 2 in this process:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC.
If, during the processes of 6a or 6b, your BB presents a "507" error, simply unplug the USB cord from the BB and re-insert it...don't do anything else...this should allow the install to continue.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
KB19915How to perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software

  • I can't print from my blackberry bold to my Photosmart Premium C310a,

I tried to install the eprint app on my blackberry bold 9780 and i am unable to enter the eprint address of my printer, nor could i find my printer that is on the same wifi network. When i search for my printer on the same wireless network, it does not find it.  When i search for printers i get all fed-ex locations, when i enter the address of my printer [email protected], i get an "invalid printer" error.
Did I install the wrong app?  Is there a different free app to install.  Is there a problem with my configuration.   I can print from my apple iPad & iPhone, but i can't get the blackberry to print.
I am sure it's something simple that i am doing wronng..
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I believe the app you installed is for printing to remote printers that are registered shares such as the Fed-ex stores. This feature is for printing on the go.
Not really sure if the Blackberry can print via your wireless network, you may need to use the email feature.Don't have A BB so just a best effort.

  • Blackberry Bold Media Card Backup

I'm new to the Blackberry (Bold 9650), so I might be missing what I've been looking for.  Most of the time, when I start, and particularly reboot my device, it always comes up with the message saying that the new media card has errors and asks if I want to correct the errors.  Then it asks me if I want to save lost clusters.
A service tech told me to back up my data card to the computer and then reformat my card.
    Questions:
    1.     Is the data card and the media card the same?
    2.     Will all data, including video and pictures be saved?
    3.     How do I save it to the computer?
    4.     This is a brand new phone with card.  Why is it damaged?
Thank you for any advice and help you can give.

    Questions:
    1.     Is the data card and the media card the same? Yes, the two names are referring to the same thing.
    2.     Will all data, including video and pictures be saved? That depends on how much damage there is to the card, if there is any.  Correct errors, save lost clusters....sounds like a bad card.  Data may or may not be recoverable, and all you can do is try.
    3.     How do I save it to the computer? You'll need a slot on your computer or a card reader, and if it is a micro SD, you'll need an adapter to fit it into the computer slot or card reader.  My micro SD came with an adapter - you can find them at places like Office Max, Staples, Best Buy, etc.  Put the card in the slot and read it like any other drive - copy everything on the card to a folder on your computer.  Then you can reformat the card, "fix" any errors, and try to recopy the information back to the card.  Me?  I'd spend another $10 and get a new card.
    4.     This is a brand new phone with card.  Why is it damaged?   It happens. The cards are so tiny, and delicate, they get damaged easily.  If the phopne came with the card already installed, it may be under warranty and you can get it replaced at the store where you got the phone.  Do the backup of all your information on the card, then take it in and see if they will replace the card.
Thank you for any advice and help you can give.

  • Blackberry Bold-9700 Challenging N900 !!

    Hi Guys,
I for one very strongly believe for a Audio-Visual product maybe also like a Cellphone the display has to be really good especially if you are also gonna use it as an entertainment device. So on the same lines I was having this discussion which later on turned out into an argument with one of my friend.
Now he has a Blackberry-Bold 9700 which has a Transmissive TFT LCD, Which comes with a Light sensing screen and Backlighting. He was saying that the display of Blackberry Bold 9700 is better then that of the N900. Though the pixel ratio of the N900(800x480) could be higher than that of the Bold (480x360). He said that please do not boast about the high pixel ratio and the 3.5 inch screen real estate it could be all futile if it is not able to produce that quality pictures, with the Transmissive TFT LCD and the Backlighting the display of the BB Bold look a lot richer and lively then the N900. When I looked at it though I kind of felt no the N900 had a better display. But frankly speaking I couldn’t really decide, what he was saying also did make sense as the picture in the Bold looked very lively?
What do you guys think? Does the Transmissive TFT LCD, Light sensing screen, backlighting makes the Blackberry Bold 9700 have a better display than that of the N900. This despite being a N900 forum I expect unbiased observations from Die-Hard Fans of the N900 who also equally appreciate a quality product from a competitor if it truly deserves some admiration and appreciation

this is laughable...cant believe that anyone who understand the visibliiyt rations woule eveer prefer a device to NOT have 2.5 times the pixels and visiblity!!
the n900 has 2.5 times the visibility of the bold.  the bold has the same resolution the iphoney has had until this year.  it only looks vibrant because of the colors and icon-styling.  the visibliliyt and clarity is no where near the same.

  • Using BlackBerry Bold in Japan

    Hi!
I'm planning a travel in Japan
I've BlackBerry Bold and I'd like to know if my mobile can work in Japan
I read some website and I've understood I'll do not have problems also because my mobile operator has a roaming agreement with NTT DoMoCo
thank in advance for your help!
    Sabrina

    Hi,
    No.
There are no carriers who have signed an agreement to carry a Blackberry Data signal in Japan so whilst you May be able to get a phone signal, but Actual Data is out.
Edit: You might get lucky and get a BB signal, but this is against the nrom. There is no carrier who has signed an RIM agreement so anything is lucky, i.e. not supported.
