Hotmail syncing with K800i

Hi
I recently bought the sony ericsson k800i.
Can I sync my hotmail account info, including phone nmubers, contacts and calendar with my k800i using isync on my macbook pro?
Thanks
Mike

Probably not... unless you can find a way of syncing your Hotmail account info with iCal and Address Book, as these are the two applications that iSync syncs data from by default.
I don't know what syncing options Hotmail offers, but being Microsoft I can imagine there's few, if any, solutions for Mac users.
Is there any reason why all your contact and calendar data is with Hotmail?
You may be better off switching to Google Mail and Calendar as these are much more Mac-friendly and syncing options do exist for them.

  • Will Hotmail work with Mail on 3GS?

    Hi,
I've had the 1st Gen iPhone from launch and have been signed up for IzyMail for the last 2 years to make Hotmail sync with the Mail App. I read a while back that Hotmail now works with the Mail App without the need for any subscriptions but I carried on using IzyMail since i'd already paid for it.
I've just cancelled my IzyMail subscription and would like to know if Hotmail will indeed work with the Mail App or will I need to look for yet another host? The Izymail subscription will not end until mid June and I am planning on upgrading to the new iPhone 3GS.
Will I be faced with any problems when initially setting up my new iPhone?

Got it all sorted. Deleted my IzyMail settings and set up Hotmail using some in & out server addresses that I found via Google.

  • How do I get my hotmail calendar to sync with the calendar on my MacBook?  Email account is connected

    Just bought an MacBook Air.
My hotmail account is set up on the email on my Mac.
However it won't sync with the calendar.
I have an ipad where the calendar entries on my hotmail do show weirdly.
    Help!

    Hello Ollie UK Mac,
You can add your account via Calendar's Preferences, in the Accounts pane.

  • How extensive is Address Book syncing with the SE K800i?

I've got this K800i from Sony Ericsson after I had checked in the Discussion Area and found that I could tweak the
    /Applications/iSync.app/Contents/PlugIns/ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice/Contents/P lugIns/PhoneModelsSync.phoneplugin/Contents/Resources/MetaClasses.plist
file to include the K800i (inserted as K800 - no i), but I've found that iSync does not transfer some of the fields (i.e. Company, or a second Mobile Number). Any way to improve on this?
    Many thanks, people.

I'm a bit confused now.... In your first post you said "iSync does not transfer some of the fields (i.e. Company, or a second Mobile Number). "
These fields are amongst the ones I listed above that do sync correctly with the Phone Plugin. Are you now saying that Company and second Mobile Number fields do sync with your modifications? In which case, what did you want to improve?
Over-reacting? I just advised against (potentially dangerous) editing of files within the iSync app. It's not the correct way to do it.
Speaking from experience, I've had dozens of people come to me for help after trying to modify the MetaClasses.plist within iSync and making mistakes, completely crippling their iSync application.
Then they have to go through the trouble of re-installing iSync from the 10.4 disks and re-applying the latest Combo updater to get it back working again. (No matter how often its said, many people don't make backups before making modifications).
Also, everytime there is an OS update to iSync, you have re-do all your modifications. And, as mentioned above, proper Phone Plugins can be prevented from working after MetaClasses.plist changes - causing users to complain to developers that they don't work!!
Surely, when there is a proper, official way of adding support for phones, that cannot harm your installed software in any way, it's best to use it?
The P800 and K800 are totally different iSync-wise. The P800 is a Symbian OS based phone, and uses a completely different syncing method to the Kxxx, Txxx, Zxxx and Wxxx series phones.

  • 2 way sync with my Blackberry Curve and Hotmail

Is it the case that with a free hotmail account I can not have 2 way sync with my Blackberry Curve. What if I upgrade to a subscription Hotmail account? Or is it just not possible?

  • My e71 stopped sync. with hotmail server

    Im using nokia messaging so..
Hotmail hasnt work for me for about 2 days ago I guess
I received an email from nokia today that says:
    "Dear nokia messaging customer,
Recently, our email service has been unable to connect your email service provider, preventing email delivery to your phone. this may occur due to one of the following reasons:
    1. through your service provider, you have changed the email password of your email address. if so, you must update your nokia messaging service account with your new password email messages will then be delivered to your phone
    2. the server for your email adress is down. For more information, contact your service
    3. You might have inadvertently changed a setting in your nokia messaging account. Login to your NMA on the website "xxxxx" to determine wheter your information needs to update
So whats up with this? options 1 and 3 are not an option since I havent changed anything. so Im guessing once again nokia messaging is having problems with hotmail.
Now I want to ask to the public if your sync. with hotmail works? or has any other experience this kind of trouble?
    Any feedback will be appreciated

I had exactly the same problem.
Hotmail mail client, E71 phone, same message from nokia messaging
I fixed it by going to http://email.nokia.com and login in
Under the "My email address" section go to edit setting for you hotmail account.
Re enter you hotmail account password and exit the website.
    Done
I too had no been altering any passwords, its almost as if nokia messaging had lost or deleted it.
    Hope it works

  • How do I get my deleted Hotmail e-mails on my iPhone to sync with my desktop?

How do I get my deleted Hotmail e-mails on my iPhone to sync with my desktop?
When I delete my hotmail e-mails on my iPhone, it doesn't sync with my desktop.
    Please help me!

You can sync your iPhone's address book with the address book used by Outlook Express, which I believe is called Windows Contacts.
This is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.

  • Apple mail not syncing with hotmail e-mail on iPhone

I just bought a MacBook Pro a couple days ago and before when I was using my PC my hotmail account on my PC would sync with my hotmail e-mail on my iPhone 4.  Since I setup my hotmail account in Apple Mail it is not syncing with my iPhone.  When I delete it on my Mac or show it as read, it still shows as unread on my iPhone.  This did not use to happen.  Can someone help me, so I can get my Mac and iPhone to sync my e-mails?
And I cannot see all my Hotmail folders in Apple Mail.
    Thanks!

    Thanks for your reply.
The problem is that I've got many years of emails saved on my hotmail account and I've got other different email addresses set up to forward their emails to this account. Due to the nature of my work, I also regularly have to search back through my emails.
It looks like my only option currently is to use an icloud account and have all of my other email accounts all forwarding emails to that instead. Unfortunately, this doesn't solve the problem of being able to search back through my emails, though.
Does anyone know how the iphone manages to successfully connect with hotmail accounts (as though using IMAP). As I said, my iphone works absolutely perfectly and is fully synced with the hotmail server. I know it's something to do with 'microsoft exchange' but I really don't understand what this is and how it works.
    Thanks, Matt

  • IPhone won't sync with my hotmail account

When I check my emails on my computer and delete or save the emails... they still show up on my iphone, as well as when i check email on my iphone if i delete them on there, they will still be in my inbox when i check my email elsewhere. Is there anyways to sync this so that they will update each other when i use the other?

Is there anyways to sync this so that they will update each other when i use the other?
Not with a POP account, which is what Microsoft supports for accessing a Hotmail account with an email client.
This is supported with an IMAP account, which Microsoft doesn't support with a Hotmail account.
You can access a Gmail account as a POP or IMAP account, and now as an Exchange account.

  • E75 / Ovi and contact sync with Hotmail / other ac...

    Please please help!
I'm needing to get the contacts from my E75 / Ovi back up to sync with a non-Outlook, Windows-based email account.....
    Can ANYONE please help..?!?!?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I'm looking to back the contacts up into something like Hotmail.  That is the account I currently use, but can register a new email account with a different host, if there is no possibility to back-up the E75 with Hotmail.  I can't use Outlook though (don't have it).
I've tried using vCards, as the Ovi suite suggests, by starting a new email in Hotmail then copying details from Ovi into the email:
If I try this by drag and drop, it is entered as a .vcf as a link to a file on my C drive.  When I open this, however, I can't do anything with the link.
If I choose the 'Windows Contacts' option on the Device Sync menu, and attach a contact as a separate file from my C drive,I have two problems....  While all the names appear, only 5% of the details associated show (even though they are stored in the same way on the phones memory).  Even then, when I open the file on the email, I can't find a way to import it into Hotmail....

  • Syncing with Hotmail?

I am using my BB to sync with my company e-mail as well as my persional hotmail account.  How do I get it so that when I delete an e-mail on my hotmail account with the BB that it also deletes it from the hotmail server and vice-versa?
    Dave

Not with Hotmail, of which I am aware.
With Gmail and yahoo, and other IMAP servers, yes. from BB to Server and server to BB.
It is not possible from Outlook to the BB, UNLESS your Outlook is set to delete the message from the server, and ther server will then reconcile the delete on the BB.

  • How can I set up iCloud sync with Outlook 2007 using Hotmail account?

    Hi,
I installed iCloud PC control panel. I tried to sync my contacts and calendars from Outlook (2007) to the cloud but I gets this message: "Add an e-mail account to Outlook Before setting up iCloud". I have an Hotmail account synced up into my Outlook via Outlook Connector. Can iCloud sync with Hotmail accounts?
What should I do to get my calendars and contacts synchronize to the cloud. Does Outlook 2007 can be synced by the cloud too?
How can I set up iCloud sync with Outlook 2007 using Hotmail account?

I found a way to fix this, it did the trick for me:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3109623
All you have to do is include a new e-mail account [email protected] (set it as a default) on Outlook with the options that are showed in the thread I linked and you should have the calendars and tasks syncronised. It works perfectly with ipod touch, ipad and Outlook 2010 on windows 7.

  • Reminder does not sync with shared calendar on hotmail account

Hi, I think there is a bug in the reminder app.
Since iOS5 we can now sync reminder and calendar with hotmail, but I found that reminders (tasks) of shared calenders does not sync. The calendar doesn't even appear in the list in the reminder app, although it is in the calendar app!!
See that the calendar "ÉLÉ-volution" is not synced with the reminder app?
    Please help me!!

    Are you syncing over USB?
If so, and you are running Mavericks on this computer, syncing over USB is not currently supported. You will have to switch to a cloud-based solution, like iCloud or Google.
