Hotspot missing from iphone 4S

Has the personal hotspot network been removed from the iPhone 4S model? Cant find it.

I hope you got this resolved by now, but here's how I fixed mine:
Go into Settings, General, Network, Personal Hotspot. Turn it on (or if it is on, turn it off, then back on). Your personal hotspot should now appear in your Settings menu as it did before.
Not sure why this turns itself off sometimes, but at least it is simple to fix.
Cheers!

  • ITunes Radio Purchase Missing from iPhone w/Match Enabled

I recently purchased Usher's 'Scream' while listening to iTunes Radio on my iPhone 5. Purchase went through successfully, but when I try to download it locally from the iTunes store app on my iPhone the download appears to complete but it never appears in my Music app.
I have iTunes Match enabled and the cloud version of the song also is missing from my music list (I have the display all songs setting enabled). I checked my iMac in iTunes and the song appears (cloud version) and a local copy downloaded just fine.
Seem to be out of luck on my phone - any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Andrew

Are you able to find the song when you open the Music app, select Songs and search for it?

  • Is your home missing from iPhone maps? Add it!

maps.google.com and the iPhone maps use completely different backend databases. Hence what is in one is not always in the other. If your location is suddenly missing from the iPhone map app (like my home was), then Google says to report it to the map data vendor so they can map it out. maps.google.com is NavTek and mobile google is TeleAtlas. Google swapped out the backend DB about a month back, so a lot of previously-there areas disappeared when this happened.
    http://mapfeedback.teleatlas.com
As an aside, the developer for the maps app that I spoke with thought that adding a map feedback form within the iPhone was a good idea, so maybe some future update will streamline this update-requesting interface.

I have a gmail account where all my work emails are forwarded when I'm out of the office, so I associated my @work email to @gmail on the Gmail website. Then I setup the @gmail account as IMAP on the iPhone, using the following:
    +Name: Name+
    +Address: @work address+
    +_Incoming Mail Server_+
    +Host Name: imap.gmail.com+
    +UserName: @gmail address+
    +Password: Password+
    +_Outgoing Mail Server:_+
    +Host Name: smtp.gmail.com+
    +UserName: @gmail address+
    +Password: Password+
When you send an e-mail it will appear as @work for recipients using web-based servers. The only problem is that if your recipient uses Outlook 2003 or 2007, they will see the from e-mail as "@gmail on behalf of @work".

  • Birthdays missing from iPhone 4s calendar

All my birthdays are missing from my default iPhone 4s calendar, just disappeared? I had put them all into the HOTMAIL Birthday Calendar (read only)......I also don't know what 'read only' means?
I didn't put any of the birthdays into the 'other birthdays' calendars (the one with the blue gift box icon). All the calendars have been 'ticked' as 'showing' and not hidden.
I am a mega organised person and I completely love my iPhone but not if it is going to hide details from me!
    Any ideas anyone.....many thanks

I have the same problem - all of my birthdays have disappeared from my iphone 4s for no apparent reason. I have been going around in circles trying to find a solution on the Apple website, but it's cr*p!
I googled the problem and several people have had the same issue so clearly this is something Apple need to resolve.

  • Please help, my calendar events are missing from iphone, ipad, and icloud that were there last week

I use the calendar on my iphone and I pad for my entire life, including work, everything for my boys and all of my hubbys appointments.
Last Friday was the last time that I inputed appointments into my calendar and everything previous was in there and on my ipad and icloud.
I went in this morning to check an appointment time for something next week and found that 99% of the events that I had scheduled since the beginning of the year are missing. And they are missing from my iphone, my ipad, my icloud, and no longer in my Yahoo calendar.
I am drfinately in a panic, i need these ....
    Has anyone had this problem?
Can anyone tell me how to get them back please

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Check you aren't hiding them.
i.e. on the phone settings > mail, contacts, calendars > calendars > sync.

  • App store icon missing from iPhone display

App store icon is missing from my iPhone display. I don't know how to reintall it. I can't install any apps. I check setting/general/restriction is already off. Please help.

It cannot be deleted. If it's not restricted, it's on another screen or in a folder. If not found, try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout

  • Apps missing from iPhone 5s

There was discussion today regarding a blank screen when accessing the App Store. The App Store seems to be working fine now, but there are some apps missing from my iPhone (ie. Passbook, Netflix, Hangouts, etc.). I have tried powering off and rebooting my phone, but to no avail, the apps are still missing. I have also looked into downloading the apps again from the App Store. The App Store box shows that I can "open" the app from there, but when I tap on that icon, it does nothing. Is this a case where I have to re-sync my phone to iTunes, and hopefully the apps will show up again?

    ok do this next
    reset all settings
    settings-general-reset-reset all settings
    now reconnect to wifi
settings- wifi- click network name- enter password - join
    Peace, Clyde

  • Personal Hotspot missing on iPhone 5 after iOS 6.01

After updating my iPhone 5 to iOS 6.01 (had to apply a smaller update before this), I have now lost my Personal Hotspot setting.
Have restored twice from iCloud and from iTunes to factory defaults, but no luck.
I am on Vodafone UK contractions Vodafone swear that I still have tethering active on my account.
    Anyone else experienced this?

I found that the network information was erased. I simply typed in the missing APN in cellular data and got the personal hotspot link back. The link used was  Settings --> General -->Cellular--> Cellular Data Network
This way all the old passwords for wi-fi connections remain intact.
The alternate way is to Reset cellular settings but this way all store wi-fi passwords will be erased.

  • Why personal hotspot missing from Symbian!

I don't understand why in this day and age Nokia Belle is missing a personal hotspot? Why should I buy a 3rd party app and use it if it can be tweaked into the existing software?
    Hello Nokia? Are you listening/reading?

what type of phone are you using?
In most cases things can bluetooth to the phone and then request net access from there. Even my gps does this through my E7.

  • Photos missing from iPhone 5

    Hi Guys,
I had around 300+ photos on my iPhone 5. Went to back them up and transfer them all today but they all seem to be missing. When I opened iTunes it showed there is 915MB of photo data but says just 12 files! When I go back into Camera roll on the iPhone it shows 1 photo (test photo taken tonight) and 11 unreadable .mov files. When I try to view them I get a message - "The requested URL was not found on this server."
Have the photos been corrupted and dumped into the 11 files? If so how can I recover them? My last backup does not include the 300+ photos that should be on the iPhone.
I have tried a few file recovery programs but none seem to be able to fix this.
Tried Dr Fone, iMobie phone clean i-Funbox and a few others.
    Can anyone please help?

Try the following. It will create a library with all original files that are in your Originals folder. You can then see if there are photos in the Originals folder that your current library is unable to detect and dispay.
Starting over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
    1. Open the library package like this.
    2. Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
    3. Drag the subfolders of the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the open iPhoto Library package into the open iPhoto window a few at a time.
This will create a new library with the same Events (but not necessarily the same Event names) as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects.
Note:  your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.
Also you can use Image Capture to manually upload all photos from your iPhone to a folder on the Desktop.
You should be able to import the folder into the library while excluding duplicates and get any photos that are currently missing.

  • Contacts missing from iphone and outlook 2010

I have an IPhone 5c running 7.1.2 version and I sync it between my outlook 2010 contacts.  I use Windows 8.1 and both my iPhone and laptop use my home wifi.  I can add in new contacts to my iPhone and or laptop and they sync fine.  Then a few days later the contact is gone.  I can tell because when I start to email someone from my iPhone and type in their name the missing contact will come up with the circled I (more info) and ask me if I want to add it as a new contact.  This is very frustrating, I have over 800 contacts all related to business and random contacts just go away.   I have turned off icloud sync, turned it back on, refreshed it and nothing works.  when it disappears it takes it off of my laptop too...

I did set all my email contacts to be on the phone, and checked the iCloud. Re-synced the phone with itunes on my macbook. I have turned the phone off and left it turned off for 10 minutes and then turned it back on.
The contacts I am seeking are still missing.
One in particular I know had no email address associated with it.
I'm about ready to quit my iphone.

  • Calendar subscription events missing from iPhone

I have several macs' calendars being updated to/from icloud and they are all receiving the calendar updates from a subscription link, but the phone is missing some.  I saw someone from a year-old post say go to icloud prefs on phone, turn off calendar keeping data on phone, turn it back on merging data.  I did that, and it took fifteen minutes for the item in question to appear.  It was an event that had been on that subscribed calendar for several weeks, at least.
I'm wondering what the real solution to the issue is ...for people that actually have to rely on their calendar.  Is there a more reliable way to push updates?
(iphone 5; a few macs running mavericks)

I have no reason as to why they leave this out, but I totally want the feature too. It's annoying when you forget to make the change and have to re-enter all the info via iphone to correct it. APPLE, PLEASE FIX THIS!!!

  • Album Artwork missing from Iphone 3GS after upgrading to IOS 5

I just updated my phone, and the majority of my album covers have gone missing.
Is this because I do not keep any of the albums on my Itunes (lack of storage space)
    Can anyone help with this?

when i first upgradexd to 5.1 (last friday) my personal hotspot was also gone - i tried all the suggestions i could find on these forums but nothing worked - mysteriosly it just cam back today - and i havent done anything like a sync or reset - im wondering if it was something the phone company did (in my case ATT)

  • Why is ringtone in limbo in iTunes and missing from iPhone after last iOS 6 update?

I have a ringtone that I purchased that has now disappeared from my iPhone 5 after the last iOS 6 update. If I look in iTunes (which is an abomination in itself and not intuitive in any way), in the On This iPhone tab of the iPhone page, with Tones selected on the left hand side menu,
I see the ringtone "Stewie Mom Mom Mom" grayed out with a weird circle to the left of it . I have a second ringtone that is also visible there, with no weird circle.
If I go to the Tones tab of the iPhone page, I see that Sync Tones is checked and it shows 1 tone synched...the one without the weird circle shown in Tones.jpg is actually on my iPhone, so that is the 1 tone. No matter what I do to try to manually sync the tones to my iPhone, Stewie Mom Mom Mom is never copied to the iPhone.
Can somebody please tell me how to get this orphan ringtone back on my iPhone? What does the weird circle mean? I've gone to the iTunes store on my phone and also in the iTunes app on my computer and in both places when I view the ringtone in the store, it's acting like I never purchased it. It's not like $1.29 is so much that I wouldn't pay for the ringtone again, but honestly I don't trust that the ringtone won't be orphaned again and again, and I'm not just going to keep buying it over and over. HELP!

    This happened to me to.
It took me a while to figure out a solution, but this may or may not work for you.
Long story short, previous versions of iTunes used the Ringtones folder to store all tones, but now iTunes uses the Tones folder.
(I had copied my library of music from one computer to another, where the old computer used an older version of iTunes. I assume most users aren't affected by this, because they normally just upgrade iTunes on their primary computer, and the upgrade process probably takes care of renaming the Ringtones folder to Tones)
For example, my media folder is set to be:
    C:\Users\vincetg2\Music
so all my old tones files were in:
    C:\Users\vincetg2\Music\Ringtones
but iTunes was expecting them to be in:
    C:\Users\vincetg2\Music\Tones
To solve this, I moved all the files in the 'old' Ringtones folder to the 'new' Tones folder (you should create it if it's not already there):
then dragged the files into iTunes' Tones section:
and then synced (erase and sync) the tones over to my iPhone:
    I hope this helps!
