Hotspots on screen of iPhone - normal?

Howdy all,
I am the happy new owner of an iPhone 16GB and so far I am in love. Well, except for one thing. When I am looking at something with a white background, say an email or blank page, there are visible spots on the screen that are brighter than the others. They are easily visible when viewing straight on.
My question is... is this normal? Does your phone exhibit the same thing? Its nothing that prevents operation of the phone, and indeed when looking at an image that isnt solid white they arent even visible, but after paying $600+ (tax and applecare) I am being picky about this phone.

I'm not in the US, so obviously can't answer your question regarding AT&T's willingness to exchange iPhones bought in an Apple store. However, I had a similar situation in the UK; the nearest Apple store was over 60 miles away. When I explained to Apple, over the phone, that I couldn't afford the time it would take to travel there, because of my job, they offered to send me a replacement by courier, and provided all the details to send back my iPhone to them. Might be worth considering if you get no help from AT&T.
Also, I'd ring the AT&T store that you'd intend to use, as I've found that it often depends on the store reps you get, as to how sympathetic they're willing to be to your cause and willingness to go beyond any exchange policies they may have by default.

have you tried resetting the phone by holding the sleep/wake button and the home button until the phone restarts?

HT1212 the problem is not because i have forgot the passcode but the screen of iphone 4S is suddenly enlarging and I difficult to make it normal.

I am using ihone 4 and so far is runnng well, however last night when i went down using stair the screen of iphone was suddenly enlarging, and i cant slide to input passcode (which I do remember). After several attempts to slide the screen in order to enter the passcode ( which was not working), my iphone is now disable, so how can i fix this problem?, really appreciate for the advice. think your zoom is enabled
double tap three fingers on the screen
then go to settings>general>accessibility >zoom
and disable it

Yellow screen on iPhone 4S?

I have had my iPhone 4S for about 3 weeks now and I have noticed a yellow tint on the upper right corner of the screen. Is anyone else having this issue and if so has apple replaced the unit for you?

I have to tell you what happened to me. I got my 4s the day it came out, 3 of us did, all black models. Screen was vibrant normal and no yellow at all. My phone was dropping calls like crazy and AT&T had me replace the sim, that didn't help, so I went to apple and they gave me a new one. It was so yellow, and the battery drained from 100% to 30% in hours, my first one the battery was great. Went back and they changed it again, and this screen was even worse. I called Apple and I stated this is my 3rd phone and my dis pleasure. My screen looks bad. Also with the yellow screen, the glass is not as smooth, so I do think its a different manufacturer. Had I known this I would have dealt with the dropped calls. They are sending me a new one, and I made it clear the screen better not be yellow. So we shall see. The stickiness to the glass bothers me even more then the screen does, and all the ones with the yellow tint, do not have a smooth feel to the screen as compared to my original one and the other 2 iphone 4's in the house. It is unacceptable to have a yellow screen and thats what you need to tell them. You don't pay all this money and have to waste time and effort returning phones, they should all be within the same guidelines. I could see slightly off but the difference between my last 2 was drastic. I mean very drastic. That is not acceptable to me. I didn't pay for that and thats not what I am going to settle for. I don't know who to write to in order to complain but I m going to let it be known. Not to mention my phone was a month old and the new ones they gave me both had issues. They replaced a brand new phone with 2 phones that had issues. Sorry to say, dont settle for the yellow screen, I dont buy the glue thing they are saying because as I said the touch also feels different and the touch is more sensitive on the vibrant screen and much smoother. The reason I notice things like that is because my hands hurt to text on the 2 new ones but didn't hurt on the original one because that was smoother and more sensitive. I went from a 3gs and my 3gs has a way better screen as far as no yellowish. How can they even be able to do that? The yellow screen even hurts my eyes. Totally un acceptable. I was told from an apple representative if the yellow does not clear up, people should call and let them know, because it is not supposed to be yellow. The representative said if the new one is yellow, to let her know.

How do you lock the screen on iphone 4 while on a call? I mute calls, activate face time and I have even called someone by accident during a call. I know there has to be a way to fix this. Please HELP!

It locks automatically when you hold it to your head.
If it fails to do this, then remove the case and see if it solves it.
If it does not, then do the basics - restart, reset, restore.
If that does not solve it, then make an appointment at the genius bar.

My Macbook Pro (15" early 2011, Mountain Lion, but after reinstall i change it to snow leo) got blue screen every i normally booted it. It enter the OS only when it's in safe boot.
I've tried any solution that i got from the internet, such as:
-Reinstalling the OS X (normal install & clean install)
-Reset PRAM and SMC
-Repair Disk Permissions and Repair Disk from Disk Utility (the result is OK. There's no problem)
-Repair Disk Permissions manually (with Command + S at the beginning of booting)
-Checking Hardware from Application Installer DVD (result is OK)
-Checking from Mac Resource Inspector/MRI (result OK)
-Booting from Recovery Disk is same problem, blue screen
All of that solution is not working. My Macbook still got light blue screen and sometimes blue screen with lines after apple logo and spinning wheel is shown.
HDD is in good condition because when it's checked on the other macbook it can be booted. But if you must know, other HDD can't be booted when its plugged to my macbook (blue screen again). If i do safe booting, it works but can't play video and music also photobooth. I got confused with this case.

Hi. I'm not trying to rush things, you may have a different problem, but your issue looks quite familiar to me. I recently had a problem with the discrete graphics card (the Radeon GPU) due to overheating, all because a faulty application of the thermal compound in the factory.
In my case, the problem started slowly and intermittently, a few days after a gaming session (Quake 3) of about three hours (at the moment, I didn't realized that could be linked to the problem).
This issue is being actively discussed in another threads in this forum, but so far there's enough evidence that it's been causing similar problems for 2011 MBPs owners: screen corruption, black/blue screens, and in some cases, a total inability to boot. Some of the threads I'm talking about:

So far, and since the problem seems to affect only the discrete GPU (that's why you can boot in safe mode) a possible solution is to disable it by removing some extensions which prevent OS X from loading the Radeon drivers. Yes, the two libraries should merge. However, you need to turn on match on one computer and let it finish before adding the second library.
Once you turn march on n your phone then you don't sync it with iTunes, but the merged library will show up on the phone. If you don't turn on match on your phone and continue to sync then all of the music from both libraries should be available to sync to it.
The only bit I can't confirm is what happens if you try to sync music to the phone which isnt actually downloaded into iTunes. Im not in a position to test that, but maybe someone else can help.

Settings/Control Center. There are two options which are pretty self-explanitory...one enables/disables access on the Lock Screen and one enables/disables access within apps/games.

There's no <--> key on ANYones keyboard. (Great answer Shootist )
The other part of his answer is only applicable to certain windows (browsers specifically) as there is NO system wide maximize command in the manner you are asking.
Apple's "maximize" function (green +) simply maximizes the window to the content, not the screen.

Your only option at this point is to connect the device to a computer running iTunes so you can restore it.

Can't start camera from unlock screen in iphone 5c since ios8

Hi!
Some I can't start the camera from the unlock screen in iphone 5c since ios8 update.
It works a couple of hours after reboot, but the problem keeps turning back randomly.
After iOS8 update I also installed facebook, facebook messenger, linkedin and sync.me and configured skype.
The actions are:
Enabling the unlock screen and then sliding up the camera icon, it seems to appear a camera captured image but then the screen turns black or greyish (randomly) like the unlock screen background.
The problem doesn't happen from the control center panel locked or unlocked.
It isn't a big problem because there are simple workarounds, but it's annoying when it happens.

This is my first Mac so it's pretty much foreign to me. I was holding down control and accidently used two fingers to zoom on my track pad, and it zoomed in on my entire screen. How do I zoom out and get my screen back to normal?

On the track pad control while moving two fingers down to zoom out to the original size and control plus two fingers moved up to zoom on.
Alternatively if you have a magic mouse use control and drag one finger up and down on the mouse to control zooming. If mouse wheel use control and move the wheel.
