Hotsync Produces 3 Calendars

While trying to iSync my datebook with iCal, I think I did something wrong because I now have three different calendars.  My desktop datebook is the one I work with.  The conduit setting only has Backup, Install, iSync, Media, Memo, Memo Pad, Note Pad & Voice Memo.  I no longer have the Datebook or Address/Contact or whatever I had before so I cannot change any settings.  I cannot get my desktop datebook to hotsync my handheld & my iCal has most of what is on the handheld.  How can I correct this?  Is there any way I can add Datebook or Address/Contact to my Conduit Settings?

It makes the same number of calenders in Outlook as exist on the iCloud website, so, how many calenders in Outlook (and their names) same for iCloud.

  • Can't hotsync my calendar and contacts now

    I got my Centro (Verizon) two days ago and it worked great.  I received both my comcast email and my EAS email from work.  I did one hotsync at home two days ago without any errors, but once I went into work and the centro started a wireless sync to our email network everything changed. My personal contacts and calendar are now on my Microsoft Outlook 2003 at work and the centro won't hotsync them to my outlook 2002 on my personal computer.  I have done just about eveything I could think of.  I did a hard reset, set up both my email accounts again and got a few things to hotsync to Outlook 2002 at home, but the contacts and calendars just won't.  There is no error.  They just aren't listed in the hotsync log on the device.  I checked the conduits in the hotsync manager.  Every thing is checked. I have changed settings, such as set as default, but it just wont sync them. I am at a loss, hoping that my company's IT people can help. Any suggestions? Thanks, Linda
      PS. My IT person is telling me that my Centro won't hot sync via the cable now that I have used my company's EAS. So, how do I undo this?

    Zane(Thu Aug 14 14:30:57 PDT 2008)>Setting up an Exchange Active Sync (EAS) account on your Smartphone lets you sync your Calendar, Contacts, and Email over the air.
    Because this type of account in VersaMail performs all of its synchronization over the air, HotSync conduits for Calendar and Contacts are disabled, to avoid duplicates when you sync through your USB cable.
    After you set up the EAS account, and HotSync your device twice, the calendar and Contacts conduits will be disabled; they will only update on your Smartphone through an over-the-air sync.
    Zane(Thu Aug 14 14:31:35 PDT 2008)>If you’d like to switch back to synchronizing your Calendar and Contacts through the USB HotSync cable, you will not be able to use over-the-air Exchange ActiveSync. You'll need to delete the Exchange ActiveSync account from your Smartphone; since this will also disable email synchronization for the Exchange ActiveSync account, you may not want to do this.
    Steve_Lloyd(Thu Aug 14 14:33:54 PDT 2008)>actually,that is what i want, because the over the air mail sync is my old work e-mail
    Steve_Lloyd(Thu Aug 14 14:34:47 PDT 2008)>so, if I just delete my activesync account from versa mail, the ability for the contacts and calendar to come back will happen automatically?
    Zane(Thu Aug 14 14:36:00 PDT 2008)>Yes, once you delete the Exchange Active Sync account, you can successfully HotSync Contacts and Calender.
    Steve_Lloyd(Thu Aug 14 14:36:09 PDT 2008)>Thank you.
     Steve_Lloyd(Thu Aug 14 14:47:09 PDT 2008)>  Now they are in there, but say "do nothing"

  • Calendar hotsync issue

    Have two email accounts in Outlook that also send messages onto my phone. When I hotsync the calendar to my phone it's fine (going from personal folder onto phone) but when I make an appointment on my phone, at the top of the screen it gives me either email address but not the default option that links to the Calendar in Outlook so any appointments I put onto my phone don't hotsync. I can see a default option on the phone when i go into the Options screen but when making the appointment, the option is not available. Any suggestions?

    Hello suematthews and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Sorry to hear you're experiencing synchronization issues with your BlackBerry and Outlook.
    First of all, you can change your Default Calendar that makes the entries by going to Options>Advanced Options>Default Services or Options>Device>Advanced System Settings>Default Services (depending on your software version on your BlackBerry Curve 9300 smartphone). Where you see Calendar [CICAL] you can change this to the desired email account.
    Once you have the desired default Calendar set, backup your data using BlackBerry Desktop Software. Since you have more than one calendar list, you will need to merge them to transfer the appointments made with the wrong email to the one you sync with.
    Follow the steps in KB19240 How to merge multiple calendars into one calendar on the BlackBerry smartphone. Again, it is essential you back up your data as this will change the Calendar on your device.
    Once the Calendars have been merged into the new default that you want to use, retry the sync.
    Let me know how you make out.
    Thanks!

  • Timezone problem with Desktop 6.2 calandar and outlook 2007 after HotSync

    After recently being upgraded to Desktop 6.2 I have a problem with Hotsync Palm-calendar and outlook 2007.
    When I create a new appointment in outlook 2007 and next do a HotSync it is stored in PalmTungsten-E2 calendar with a timezone CEST (=2 hours earlier than it should be).
    At least I won't be late for these appointments, but its a bit annoying.
    I already tapped and untapped the box -New events use time zones- in the Calendar Preferences, but that does not help.

    Thanks Colapop for you suggestion.
    I had already tried that option and it gave no good result.
    Yesterday I bought KeySuite from Chapure and now everything works fine again.
    I do regret a bit I upgraded to PalmDesktop 6.2 because that was the start of my problems. The reason for updating to 6,2 was that I wanted to make use of outlook 2007 instead of palmCalender.
    Cheers

  • Can't Hot Sync Calendar

    For quite some time now I have been unable to sync the calendar info from my handheld to my desktop.  I have removed the softwareand reloaded 4.14 and 6.2 several times but to no avail.  The sync breezes through until it gets to calendar.  I've even let it go for over anhour at a time and it just never finishes.  Can anyone help?  Thank you.

    This should help you
    Ok, first we need to see if you can sync without calendar checked. On your computer right click the hotsync icon and go to custom. Then click on calendar and then change. We are going to set calendar to do nothing and check the box that says set as default. Close up the menus and try to hotsync if it syncs fine good continue on.
    Next we need to install a program on to your device called DBFixit (here's the link http://www.pimlicosoftware.com/dbfixit.htm) Download this file on the right side of the page. Then install the application to the device. Once on the device open it up and tap on the blue bar but in the top left select delete calendar blobs and say OK or yes. Then keep running that till you have 0 listed or no blobs found. Then we are going to hotsync with calendar syncing from the device to the PC. Again right click the hotsync icon and go to custom. Then click on calendar and then change. Then select handheld overwrites desktop. Sync and post back if that fixed the issue.
    If it did then we need to change the sync to sync the files and set that as default. To do that, again right click the hotsync icon and go to custom. Then click on calendar and then change. Then select sync the files and set as default box checked. You should be all set at that point.

  • As of 1/1/10, all data before 12/31/09 disappeared from my Calendar

    Help! Has this happened to anyone else? Untimed events before 12/31/09 are still present in Calendar, but all timed events before 12/31/09 are GONE! All timed and untimed events from 1/1/10 are still present...thank goodness. Any suggestions regarding why this happened and how to get the data back on the TX. The same is true for the MacOSX Palm Desktop data. I did not realize this had happened until I had Hot Synced at least three or four times.

    With any corruption it can be limited to a few events or all or just one sided. You can check and see if you have corruption by downloading an application called dbFixit. http://www.pimlicosoftware.com/dbfixit.htm
    Here is the full instructions on how to use this program.
    Next we need to install a program on to your device called DBFixit (here's the link http://www.pimlicosoftware.com/dbfixit.htm) Download this file on the right side of the page. • Palm Desktop 6.2.2 will not print calendar

    I have been using the Palm Desktop software long after my Palm expired. I have been using 6.2.2 for over a year (currently on a Win 7 machine) with no problems until today. All of the monthly information showed in the first. Is this happening to anyone else, or do I need to reload my software?

  • To create hardback photo albums ,calendars press "share"  No option other than create a Web page. Running OS X 10.6.8 Do I need to upgrade?

    e-mail received promoting iPhoto's capability to produce calendars, hardback photo albums etc, simply by pressing  "share". Only option I find is to create a Web page. Do I need  to upgrade to Mountain Lion to take advantage of Apple's marketing?

    You will need to update to Mavericks and iPhoto 9.5 to be able to share books and cards from the Share menu. It is a feature of iPhoto 9.5.
    If you want to create a book in an earlier iPhoto version, use the File menu - Filse > New > Book.

  • Sync problem with TREO 680 - calendar sync times out

    Hi all, perhaps someone can help. After updating the battery longer life package - which is working fine the the battery, no sync is possible any more.
    Funny also for an unlocked TREO just Rogers and AT&T package is available for Europe - I selected the Rogers one - perhaps that is the problem.
    By re-installing the whole software from CD and updating the sync SW from the palm sites, the sync process always stops when the calendar is going to be synchronized. Stops means loops, times out, ...
    Any idea?

  • Open Letter to Palm Regarding the Palm Treo 755p

    Dear Palm,
    As a devoted Palm user for the past 15+ years, I have been praising the versatility, convenience and user friendly Palm hardware/software to my colleagues and family for as many years. As a result many have purchased Palm products and have come to rely upon them as much as I do.
    Recently I finally gave in and took the leap to consolidate my multiple media devices (laptop: email, phone: calls, Palm TX:notes,passwords,video,books,spreadsheets,contacts,calendar,etc.) into one unit with the Palm Treo 755p. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO DISAPOINTED IN A PALM PRODUCT! After transferring all of my info from my TX to my 755p, and activating the phone itself, I began the process of setting up my VersaMail account to enable me to sync my work email through the Exchange ActiveSync program. In typical Palm fashion, it was fairly easy to set up once I had obtained the necessary info from my IT department and I was soon getting my email in the Palm of my hand (pun intended). All was well! Or so it seemed...
    Shortly after getting everything set up, I contacted my Dr. to set up an appointment later this month, and, in typical fashion, I opened my Palm Desktop Manager to update my calendar with the appointment so I could sync it up with my Palm during the next HotSync. After performing the HotSync, I realized that not only did the appointment NOT transfer from the Palm Desktop, ALL of my personal contacts and calendar events had been forced into my work email account!! I immediately became alarmed because I do not want my personal life (i.e. Dr. appointments, church activities, etc.) advertised to those whom I have granted rights to work on my work email account when requested to do so. I immediately sought out help from the Palm.com help forums and found that MANY people were experiencing the same problem. I performed all of the tricks that I could find (erasing everything, reloading software, hard resets, etc.) but no luck; I could not keep my personal information (contacts & calendar) in Palm Desktop and use my VersaMail for just that - MAIL. After researching further, I found that when using either the Exchange ActiveSync setup or the GetGood program, that the user is forced to surrender all options related to how the calendar and contacts are handled - DESPITE the options built into the program that indicate otherwise. I have since removed all email synchronization accounts from my 755p and have been attempting to re-establish the ability to successfully HotSync my calendar and contact information with the Palm Desktop Manager. I am also working with my IT department to see about the possibility of establishing a POP3 account for my work email - which in my opinion is a completely inferior option; in addition to being most likely unavailable despite the fact that many in the company of 60,000 employees are now facing the same problem with their own Palm Treo devices
    - I now have a phone/PDA that does not do what it was advertised to do.
    - I have lost my confidence and faith in Palm (this did not come lightly; I have been attempting to work through this issue for the past two weeks in all of my spare time).
    - I am still unable to successfully HotSync my contact/calendar info with the Palm Desktop Manager (despite hard reset on the phone & no associated email accounts on the phone) & it does not indicate why (it does not revert to "do nothing" in the manager as it did previously).
    - I have no way to check my work email account remotely.
    - Unfortunately because of schedule limitations I do not have the time to sit on the phone with Palm Tech Support, I have been completely unsuccessful in launching the technical support chat program, and I have been unable to find any type of email address where I could express my concerns in a more professional manner, rather than airing this over a worldwide forum.
    Does anyone have any advice, knowledge, fixes, hacks, etc. that can help? I really don't want to lose the investment (time and financial) I made in this upgrade, and I REALLY do NOT want to move over to the dark side (Blackberry).
    Most of all, and scoff/call me old fashioned all you want, I do not want to give up on Palm. I still feel that they are a good company that cares about their customers and provides (for the most part) a quality product and I would prefer to give them the brand loyalty I have for the past years, and hopefully many to come.
    This is my first time using this venue to communicate with Palm, I have selected to be notified if there is a reply to this message as I prefer not to leave my personal contact information in this open forum. I am looking forward to hearing from you [Palm] to see what can be done to address my concerns.
    Sincerely,
    Chad B.

    Ridius,
    Success! Wow, what an endeavor! I had already tried using the HotSync troubleshooting before I turned to the forums so as I expected, I was unable to find a resolution there. Here's what I did next:
    • Before using the Registry Fix utility, I exported all of my "good" files (memos, contacts, calendar, tasks) from my TX. I then wiped everything from the Treo 755p through another hard reset.
    • Downloaded the Registry Fix utility, erased all existing profiles on my computer, re-downloaded the Palm Desktop Manager v6.2.2 and installed it over all existing Palm software on the computer
    • Performed an initial HotSync and then tested each feature (contacts, memos, calendar, tasks) one at a time with a HotSync in between each one. Success!
    • I then went through and instead of loading the profile from my TX, I obtained the most up to date software versions of the most often used additional programs and loaded each one, one by one & performing a successful HotSync each time before moving on to the next.:
    o MegaLauncher v6.44
    o Agendus for Palm OS Standard Edition v12.04
    o Documents To Go v8.002
    o CacheMate v4.1.2
    o A new-to-me program called Passwords Plus v1.006 since my old "Secret" program was obsolete and I could not find an updated version.
    o MiniTones 0.1b (for Palm OS)- just found this a few days ago and it is the greatest for using MP3's on your SD card for ringers, plus its free!
    o I was unable to find an updated version of Big Clock and I refrained from loading the previous versions after reading that it has been known to cause crashes on newer Palm OS. (darn! The price was right; free, and it was an excellent program too!)
    So far I have been able to perform successful HotSync’s every time with only one consistent error each time (even before the additional programs were loaded):
    "Backed up some files successfully to Treo 755p's Backup folder
    •Duration: 7.6 seconds
    •Failed to backup 1 file(s)
    •PmTraceDatabase
    •Protocol Error: Handheld file could not be opened. (4004)
    •SYNCERR_FILE_NOT_OPEN"
    Any ideas here?
    I have not yet attempted to do anything with my work computer yet, it will take a while to get the IT department to update Palm Desktop Manager to v6.2.2 on the company servers and I feel this was one of many critical updates leading to the fix that ultimately resolved my problem.
    All in all, this experience & working with you has renewed much of my faith in Palm – I am only hoping that I can find similar success with the one issue that started all of this (i.e. upgrade to a all-in-one device, time/financial investment, 2+ weeks of troubleshooting & wasted effort, etc.); the need to keep my personal calendar/contact info OUT of my company email/files, while at the same time having the ability to use the Exchange ActiveSync program to view my work email only. Most likely this will require a lot more finger crossing and outcry from the public. For the sake of myself, the many other users of the Palm Treo 755p within my company of 60,000 and those going through the same issue all over the world, I hope that the wait is not too long.
    Most of all, I want to thank you for your assistance, kindness, and dedication to providing exceptional service to me and the thousands of others that you have helped directly & indirectly through this and other threads. Whether or not you are able to help me with resolving the last HotSync issue listed above or not, you have been nothing short of amazing and will have my continued vote of confidence in your abilities. I can only hope that those current leaders within the Palm organization will take the time to review this and so many other threads that you have participated in to see what a quality employee you are, so that your talents can be put to use in leading others to follow in your footsteps.
    Sincerely,
    Chad B.

  • Converting a date to a string in J2ME?

    How come this code:
    Calendar cal = Calendar.getInstance();
    cal.setTime(new Date()) ;
    String s = cal.getTime().toString();
    Form f = new Form("Date");
    f.append(new StringItem("Date", s));
    display.setCurrent(f);
    produce something like this: java.util.Date@226de234
    in J2ME (in a mobile phone emulator) when all I want is a string like
    this: Wed Jul 02 19:36:44 GMT+10:00 2003
    which this code in J2SE with ease produces:
    Calendar cal = Calendar.getInstance();
    cal.setTime(new Date()) ;
    String s = cal.getTime().toString();
    System.out.println(s);
    Is there anyone who can tell me how to get the string in J2ME?

    How about just
    "The last stored date is " & date()
    and that way no matter who sees the report, their local settings will determine how the date is displayed.

  • Palm DeskTop 6.2 not working

    opened the software yesterday and got "An invalid argument was encountered." The software datebook was on the screen and it said "months" instead of February 2010. When i tried to import a ".dba" file - I got the same message. Microsoft updated software on Tuesday and I would say that the Vista patches caused the PALM software to fail.
    I am running Windows Vista on an HP laptop and Windows XP on a desktop. The desktop does not appear to have been affected.
    I am using a Palm Treo 755p on the Sprint network.
    I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software. i have used McAfee to clean my registry. I am now out of ideas.

    This should resolve your issue:
    Ok, first we need to see if you can sync without calendar checked. On your computer right click the hotsync icon and select settings. Click on applications. Then uncheck Datebook.
Again right click the hotsync icon and select settings. Click on applications and select Datebook. Click on Configure. Then select handheld overwrites desktop. Click ok or done Sync and post back if that fixed the issue.
    If it did then we need to change the sync to sync the files and set that as default. To do that, again right click the the hotsync icon and select settings. Click on applications. Then recheck Datebook. You should be all set at that point.

  • Alarms causing problems - should I reinstall?

    I have a Z22 and have been running Palm Desktop 4.2 on Windows XP Pro. Recently I was having trouble connecting for HotSync, so, following published  troubleshooting suggestions, I installed Palm 6.2 over 4.2. I was able to get my data back, but Palm Desktop would crash whenever I accessed certain months in Date Book. I was also getting error message that Alarm Manager was crashing when I tried to synch, and I realized that the months that couldn't be accessed have events with an alarms. I tried reinstalling and changing settings, and at some point I was able to synch and could access the problem months. Then it started crashing again. Now I have no data in Palm Desktop, it is on the Z22, but I can't complete a synch because it is hanging when it gets to Date Book (I have to kill it with the Task Manager).
    I wouldn't mind uninstalling 6.2 and going back to the 4.2 installation disk, but I am intimidated by having to edit the registry. What are my alternatives?

  • More flexibility for cakendars

    I have been asked to produce calendars for a number of clients but have found iphoto's calendar feature frustrating as you cannot add artwork or company logo to the lower section of the front cover under the main image. It would be great if Apple could add an image place holder like the ones used on pages templates to add small images where the text is placed to give the look a more personal or corporate feel. - So come on Apple, send us an update!

    If you have a local source to print calendars there's a way you can add your additional graphics to the pages.
    1 - while in the calendar mode start to Print and select PDF->Send PDF to iPhoto. That will create a 2000 x 1600 pixel jpg file for each page of the calendar an import it into iPhoto. (Note: immediately do a batch rename and set the title to Page. This will re-title the files Page -01, -02, etc. so you won't have any problem keeping them in order. You'll know what I mean when you see the naming convention that is used)
    2 - using a 3rd party editor like Photoshop Elements, PS,Acorn or other application that handles layers, add your graphics, flatten the image and save as a jpg. Not familiar with InDesign but it might be able to edit the jpgs also.
    3 - you can recombine the pages into a pdf file by using Combine PDFs. It will take graphic files as well as pdf files and join them into a new pdf file. Add the jpg files in order and save. You can have a local printer like The UPS Store (formally Kinkos). They offer calendars which are wire bound similar to Apples so should be able to print your pdf and bind it.
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
    Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.
