Hour Glass

I love my Torch phone, but there is one thing that I could throw my phone away for, is the Hour Glass!! why does it do this, and how can I stop it from doing it. Yes I know it's old but I love it and I am trying to hold off from buying a new phone. As I am not sure which one to get yet. But my battery goes dead very easily, allready replaced it three times. And the hour glass keeps coming up.

How much free application memory on the device? Look in Options and type memory in the search bar.

Problem with freezing and hour glass comes on as if updating every 10 minutes or so and lasts for 52 seconds or more.

When I am on a site, any site, or writing an email every ten minutes or so, the hour glass comes on and I cannot do anything but wait. I think it is updating something. How can I stop this?

Updating to Firefox 8.0 might do it, unless there is damage to the places.sqlite indexes, anyway this is the fix, and I actually option (same as all options).

Thought I was having that problem right now, but it's my anti-virus scan, usually ties things up pretty much.

I've tried to troubleshoot downloading Firefox but it won't open on Windows XP. The Firefox Update box with the hour glass symbol runs for hours. Then I have trouble even shutting down. When I click on Firefox, no window, program won't quit, etc....

Windows XP. I used to use Firefox and it worked okay. I'm not sure why I downloaded a new version but it won't open. The window that says "Firefox Update" continues to try to load. I've removed Firefox completely and tried downloading again with the same results. Even with the latest version. Shit. Whassup?

Hour glass showing instead of thumbnails when importing new photos

I just started using Photoshop 10. When I import photographs from my camera or from any other source, the thumbnails do not show in the catalog, I can only see an hourglass.
If I click on the hourglass, the picture opens and the picture shows perfectly, so the file is there. However when I close the picture an d go back to the "show all" the thumbnails still does not work, it only shows an hour glass.
This was not happening when I was using Adobe Photoshop 9 and I am still using the same Windows Vista computer.

Try selecting the thumbnails (Shift+Click) or (Ctrl+A) to select all, then click on the top menu
Edit à Update Thumbnail For Selected Items
If that doesn’t work close Elements and delete the thumbnail cache by navigating to:
C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\MyCatalog
In side the MyCatalog folder (or whatever name you gave your catalog) you should find a CACHE file:
thumb.5.cache
After deleting that file restart the elements Organizer and wait whilst it regenerates thumbnails.
N.B. The ProgramData folder is sometimes a system hidden file, in which case please follow these instructions before starting.

I tried all of the following with no success:
- uninstalling and reinstalling mozilla with no success.
- End all firefox.exe from the task manager and then open again the firefox from quick launch or desktop or program files folder.
- Change the firefox.exe name to firefox2.exe
- Start in safe mode and choose several alternatives after choice box, but nothing happen.
Please help.

How to get the hour glass in the GUI status bar.

how can I get the hour glass and a corresponding text in the GUI status bar? Like during the compilation I would like to show a message 'Processing data ...'.

Explorer hang & right click hour glass

Windows SErver 2012 R2 terminal server. All clients having the same issue. When right clicking an icon on the desktop to bring up menu (cut, copy, paste, etc.) or right clicking from Explorer the system goes to an hour glass. I have downloaded and ran
the Microsoft scanning tool and nothing was found on the server.

Start Windows in Safe Mode and see if the problem persists.
Problems when right-clicking an element in Windows Explorer are often caused by faulty context menu handlers.
You can get ShellExView to see which shell extensions are installed and disable them one by one to find the culrpit:

Also try running a Anti-Virus scan on the system and see if you can find something.

PSE 5.02: Catalog cannot be opened (hour glass)

Please help me:
I have a big problem: A rather new Vista PC, PSE 5.02, rather big catalog (18MB). PSE has frozen (no reaction, only hour glass). After I killed PSE I restarted it. The PSE Windows shows up (without any pictures) and again immediatly PSE is frozen (no reaction, only hour glass).
If I open another catalog, there is no problem. So I think, the original catalog has some problem. So I started PSE with CTRL pressed, and the catalog was repaired. But even after this repair, PSE freezes immediately after opening the catalog. Has anybody an idea?
Any hints are appreciated!

How do I fix thumbnail problems when there is an hour glass?

I have Premiere Elements 10 and when I edit a new picture, I get an hour glass on the thumbnail of that photo. When I click on the thumbnail I do get the picture, but until I do that all I have is an hour glass on the thumbnai.

What computer operating system are you running Premiere Elements 10 on?
Where are you when you see this hour glass...in Elements Organizer 10? To get the picture, are you right clicking it and selecting Update Thumbnail?
How much RAM do you have installed on your computer and how much is available? How much free hard drive space does your computer have and is it all confined to the Local Disk C, not supplemental drive(s)?
What are the pixel dimensions of the photos involved and how many of them do you have in the Elements Organizer 10 if that is where you are in the program for what you describe. What is the format of these photos, jpg, tif, .psd, other?

While editing photos, our power went out. Now when I edit photos, the photo doesn't appear. Instead there is an hour glass symbol. However, if I click on the symbol, the photo will pop up. Also, when I add new photos, I get the hour glass symbol not the photo. How can I get rid of this symbol? If I re-install the program from a disc, will my albums still be in the new installation?

Thank you so much. I can get to the Catalogue Window, but clicking on "repair" does nothing - it's not highlighted as an option - any suggestions? I also tried "edit" "select all" - update thumbnail - still have the hour glass.

Hour glass instead of photos

down load fuji hs10 but now thumbnails show hour glass and not pic. click on houg glass and it opens. never happened before. using camera for 3yrs and no problems. any ideas

Try selecting the hourglass thumbnails (Shift+Click) or (Ctrl+click) then click on the top menu
Edit >> Update Thumbnail For Selected Items
If that doesn’t work close Elements and delete the thumbnail cache which sometime becomes corrupted.
Go to My Computer and click on local disk C and follow the path to the My Catalog folder.
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Catalog Folders\My Calalog
Inside the My Catalog folder (or whatever name you gave your catalog) you should find a CACHE file:
thumb.5.cache
Highlight that file and delete it.
After deleting that file restart the elements Organizer and wait whilst it regenerates thumbnails.
N.B if you can’t see Application Data when you click on the All users folder, it may be a hidden system file. In that case click on Tools >> Folder Options and then select the View Tab. Click the radio button to show hidden files and folders, then click Apply and then OK.

Making JButton not respond when hour glass cursor

Hi,
I know how to change the cursor to the hour glass one but what I want is that JButtons will not responds to clicks from an hour glass cursor. The JButtons should only respond to clicks from the normal cursor.
Does anyone know how to do this?

Below is a solution for JDK 1.4 without threading.
In the event handler of ActionLock the following happens:
1. disable the button.
2. repaint the button using paintImmediately().
3. perform the search.
4. post an "enable button" event on the event dispatching queue using invokeLater().
5. handle possible clicks during the search. They are ignored since the button is disabled.
6. the "enable button" event is handled on the event dispatching thread.
Three comments:
i) if step 2 is not done the paint event triggered by disabling the button will not be handled until just before step 6. Visually the button will thus not appear disable.
ii) if step 4 is not done through invokeLater step 6 is done before step 5, thus the clicks will start new searches.
iii) focus issues are solved by making the button not focusable.

HELP & THANKS! Why does Hour Glass appear where all Thumb Nail Photos should be in Organizer PSE 9?

All of a sudden all new items imported into Adobe Photoshop elements 9 Organizer have an hour glass that is not moving instead of a thumbnail photograph. Update thumbnail does not seem to work. My operating system is Windows Vista. The photos are Jpeg and are on my hard drive. Some of these photos worked before with a thumb nail photo but do not now. Thanks for any help! Anxiously waiting for an answer.

Non responsive firefox & stops in mid sentance in messanger or e-mail. Hour glass shows!

You can enable your Known & Trustworthy Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working.
