Hours in weekly view

I know theres an easy answr to this but i cant find it. I read the help topic on this but didnt help..
In my wekly view each day starts at 12am and ends at the time when i put depending on my preferences for total hours showed...i want to view each day starting at 6am but when i change to that in preferences nothing happens, still shows from 12 am till whenever..

In iCal's general preferences you can set "day starts at" and "day ends at" but setting eg starts at 9am doesn't stop the hours before that being displayed, it sets the shading on the hours before 9am slightly darker. On my screen you can barely see the difference. In week view it is only the currently seleceted day that has the shading.

  • I cal day and end hours in week view

I just installed Tiger and am having trouble getting the hours that I want (7 a.m. to 8 p.m.) to only show in my week view. I followed the iCal help and set it up under preferences, yet is shows the day starting and ending at midnight. Help?

Mark, welcome to the discussions. This feature of iCal is misleading - and not particularly useful. No matter what you set in the preferences there will still be 24 hours in the day, and all will be visible (though you can control how many are simultaneously displayed. Your 7am to 8pm setting controls which part of the display iCal lightly shade, and which part it leaves unshaded.

  • Prevent calendar from showing early morning hours on week view?

I really don't need to see 1AM - 8AM on the week view of my calendar.  I went in the settings and tried to say that my day starts at 8AM, but it still shows me the early morning hours.  How can I change this?
    Thanks!

    polishedstaple,
As depicted in this example, that choice only changes the shading of the calendar background for the specified timeframe.
It will not hide the excluded times from being displayed.

  • Too many hours in week view

Before updating to OSx 10.4.4, you could choose the "Day starts at:" and "Day ends at:" preference to limit the amount of hours in the main iCal window in week view. Now changing that preference only grays out the unwanted hours. They are still there and I have to scroll though them. I only want to 8 hours in the day and the rest to disappear. That is the way iCal used to work.
Has anybody come up with a patch to solve this problem? I guess the new version of iCal (I now have v2.0.3) got installed with OSx 10.4.4. Is there any way to run the previous version of iCal with .4?

comment out the lines in /etc/fstab, since you use udev, dbus, hal and pmount i'm guessing you dont need those static entries in fstab.

  • [CATS] Add 'from' and 'to' hour in Week view

    Hi,
I would like to add the 2 columns with begin hour and end hour (as in the Day view) in the Week view.
Is this possible to do it with customizing only?
If not, where should I modify the WD Java to do so?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Best regards,
    Guillaume

    Hi,
A closely related alternative would be for the employee to input his/her times in hours/minutes instead of floats.
That is to say, he/she would enter '03:55' instead of '3,9176'.
Where should I act on the Web Dynpro side to switch the numeric field to some 'time' field (even if I use char and make necessary convertions by myself) ?
    Update 10-Oct-2009
I changed the CL_XSS_CAT_1_APPLICATION_CORE~GET_QUAN_OR_AMOUNT_ROLLNAME so as to return a custom ZCATSCELL with my own conversion routine instead of the standard CATSCELL but it seems to cause conversion errors whenever the input is wrong (not numeric for instance)
    Update 10-Oct-2009 (bis)
Actually, just found out that the standard conversion routine CATSC is not used. Its name is simply checked (hard-coded) in the CL_XSS_CAT_INPUT_CONVERTER~CONVERT_CHAR method so as to perform specific checks (not the one in the CONVERSION_EXIT_CATSC_INPUT, don't fall into that one !)...
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Best regards,
    Guillaume

  • Print ical weekly view with fewer hours

When I print iCal in a weekly view, It prints 24 hours.  Obviously that isn't necessary.  How can I get it to print only 12 hours or the hours I have on my schedule?

I was able to figure it out.  Apparently I had the times in wrong for an event and it went from pm one day to am the next day, hence prining 24hr.  When I corrected this is solved my problem.  Thanks for your patience.

  • Does anyone know if it is possible to change the display in week view to show 24 hours per day for those of us that work irregular hours

Does anyone know if it is possible to change the display in week view to show all 24 hours per day for those of us that work irregular hours.
Also is it possible to have all of the 'all day' entries showing, not just 3.5 of them.
The app Week Cal HD was the perfect calendar until Apple removed it so could they please offer the same facilities that it offered.

  • Determining Hours Displayed in Day and Week View

    Hi there,
Even though I have determined the Day hours to be, for example, 7am to 6pm in iCal Preferences, and I have determined the number of hours to be shown on the screen to be, for example, 11 hours, I still have to scroll down to fit my Day's hours in the view. In addition, the non-day hours (i.e. midnight to 7am, 6pm to midnight) are still being shown.
Is there any way of removing the non-day hours, and in effect the scrollbar so that on opening iCal, the correct hours as I have determined them are displayed?
Why would I want to open my Day or Week view and have at the top (what I would expect to be the first thing of my "Day") to in fact be Midnight (and go back to sleep)?
Am I missing something or does this not work the way I think it should, or thought it did?

  • Viewing extra hours in day/week view

    Hi all,
When I view calendars in day or week view, it shows me the whole day, from midnight to midnight. Which is sort of a pain because I don't generally schedule anything for myself at 1 o'clock in the morning so I have to scroll down to where my day actually begins.
I remember I used to be able to change this in the preferences where you set the "Day Starts At" and "Day Ends At." So I changed that to 8 am and pm respectively. But all iCal did was grey out the time before 8. It didn't make those hours go away.
Is it just me? Is the app buggy or is this the way it's supposed to be? Any thoughts?

    Hi,
I don't have a solution to your exact problem, but one option (if you haven't adjusted this already), would be to go into iCal preferences and choose a different setting under:
Show __ hours at a time.
I have mine set at 8, and although I do see some extra hours in the day, I primarily only see my working day. You can reduce this down as low as 6 hours.

  • Show more hours in calendar week view!?

How do I show more hours in the calendar week view?
In iOS 6 I could see 10 hours, but in iOS 7 I can only see 8 hours. This might nit seem like a big deal, but it's extremely annoying!
And why can I not alter how many hrs I want to see in the preferences...?

You can turn your iPad to portrait mode but that only gets you 4 more hours. Beyond that I don't think there is a way to increase hours shown.

I use Week Cal on the iPod.  I think it was only $1.99.  It is a lot better and does a lot more than the one that came with the Palm Pilot.
As you know, unlike the Palm Pilot, the iPod does not come with a desktop application that you can sync your iPod calendar to.  Since I don't use Outlook, I have to use a Cloud based calendar to sync with my PC.  I use Hotmail's calendar for that.  (If your computer is a MAC, you can use iCal)

  • Hours listed in Weekly View

When I open in Weekly View, it starts at 1:00am. I have already gone into preferences and selected for my day to start at 7:00am but it only shades from 7:00am on. I do not want to see 1:00am to 6:00am as I will never have any appts then. How do I make it start showing the times at 7:00am?

  • Ical events showing in week view as an hour later than the details in event

    Hi all,
I've just been upgrading my ical / mobileme and I can't figure this out. All time zones are set to London-UK. If I look up appointments in week view all my calendars are colour coded. One particular calendar appears 1hr late with appointments. When I go into the details of this even it show correct time. For example. Kids school looks like it's in for 9:50 in week view but when I go into appointment it reads the correct time of 08:50?
    Any ideas. Thanks

    Andrew,
Is there any way of dragging and dropping an iCal event showing in week view across to a date in the left sidebar monthly calendar?
No, but you can use cut/paste. Cut (⌘X) the event, then click on the week where you want to move the event, and Paste (⌘V).
If you have a suggestion for Apple to change that method use: Apple - Mac OS X - Feedback.

  • Can't visualize the time on the weekly view on ical

Can anyone help me out, I can't see the times on the left of the ical panel in the weekly view and I can't seem to change this in preferences. Has anyone had this problem?

I have a similar problem, have endured several calls to apple care, two trips into the genius bar, had 2 computers rebuilt and after all that, the first sync with MobileMe restored the problem. My profile/preferences only recognises the hour 5:00AM and the hour markers on the day view and week view all say Sat AM, Sat PM in every hour. Please help. This is driving me crazy. I'm pretty sure it has to do with Preferences. If I create another account, iCal is fine on that account.

  • Disconnected Slicer in PowerView - Hour | Day | Week | Month | Year | Max

I want to create a Power View chart in Power BI with the Minute/Hour/Day/Week/Month/Year filters:
    Workbook can be downloaded at:https://www.dropbox.com/s/r00btg5zb8snohz/Disconnected%20Slicer%20Demo.xlsx?dl=0
when MINUTE is selected the chart should display:
Total Number of Msgs vs. X-axis showing the last 60 seconds (from current time) with 5 or 10 seconds interval.
when Hour is selected the chart should display:
Total Number of Msgs vs. X-axis showing the last 60 minutes (from current time) with 5 minutes interval.
    ex: 10:00AM 10:05AM 10:10AM ...................................11:00AM
when DAY is selected the chart should display:
Total Number of Msgs vs. X-axis showing last 24 hours (12AM to 11:59PM with 1 hour interval)
when WEEK is selected the chart should display:
Total Number of Msgs vs. X-axis showing the last 7 days from current datetime stamp with 1 day interval.
when MONTH is selected the chart should display:
Total Number of Msgs vs. X-axis showing the 30 days from current datetime stamp with 1 day interval
when YEAR is selected the chart should display:
Total Number of Msgs vs. X-axis showing the last 12 months from current day with 1 month interval
It would be great if the PowerView chart can be made to look something like this:
    shown in the below link:
When '5 Day' is selected the values in the Y axis and X axis change automatically.

    Hi Manjunath,
Currently looking into a possible solution although some of the limitations within Power View restrict how close we can get to the ideal result. Still exploring some approaches :)
