How about to buy a week27-28 macbook?

Will those macbooks suffer from the random shuting down problem? I don't want to try a crashbook. So, is there anyone has a week27-28 macbook that random shut down?
PowerBookG4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

the problem is that apple refuses to acknowledge it...
that's really really sh*tty.
It does take a little time to establish that there is indeed a widespread problem. Why would they "acknowledge" a widespread problem if they don't know it to be widespread. It takes time. Look how long it took for them to acknowledge the discolored plastic issue that people were having.
I understand that you are having the random shutdown problem. I'm sure that Apple understands that you are having said problem. But, again, you aren't indicative of a widespread problem. Before you get bent out of shape, yes, I realize also that there are many others having the same issue. But you need to realize that this whole thing takes time. Have some patience. They WILL deal with it.
now they' replacing the logic board which many
people have said doesn't solve the problem.
You posted (again) a thread asking people if they've had their problems remedied by a logic board replacement. Neither had any responses except for mine, suggesting you try searching because there were already a number of threads in existence about the very same topic. The thing is that you posted this before you posted the question thread (for the second time). What this suggests is that unless you had already read the other threads about the efficacy of the logic board replacements, you are speculating here about the "many people" who have reported that it isn't working - OR - it suggests that, having read those other threads, you're flooding the discussions with duplicate threads intentionally, which is something that the gods look down upon and delete.
am I going to have to deal with "going through the
proper channels" for 6 months until they finally fix it
properly.
Yes, like everybody else, which I know may be a bit of a blow. You'll have to deal with it and wait like everybody else.
Having to deal with this issue for that long is just
not worth buying an apple.
So return it or sell it. I'm sure that Dell, Toshiba or Sony may have a fitting machine you can purchase and use.
If apple acknowledged the problem and fixed my
computer that would be one thing. But refusing to
acknowledge the problem and giving me a fix that
is going to break again is a horibble way to treat a
customer
There you go again, thinking you're special. "If Apple...fixed MY computer... giving ME a fix..."
Again, chill out. They will "acknowledge" as soon as they establish that it is a widespread issue AND know what to do about it.

You can use XP but it has to be in a Virtual Machine and OS X as the host instead of as a dual boot system with XP in its own partition. That is how I run Windows on my Mac, in a Virtual Machine.
Take a look at VritualBox from Oracle. It's free and works very well.

  • Can someone please help me... i'm about to buy a new macbook pro and i need some pros and cons of SSD

hi.. i'm about to buy a new macbook pro and i need some pros and cons of SSD.... i'm not sure which is really better, the regular hard drive or the SSD... because if i buy the mac with SSD it would be the 128GB, so i want to know how would that affect the overall performance of the computer...
    Thanks!

I would suggest that you purchase the SSD through a third party source.  You will save money that way.
Regarding the performance, go to the OWC web site.  They have bench tested their SSD vs conventional HDD and have published the results for anyone to see,
The difference between the 128GB and the 256GB drives is capacity, no practical change to performance.
    Ciao.

You can connect the iPad to your Mac's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, that should copy it over to the Movies part of your library.
Depending upon what country that you are in, and whether the film studio allows it, you might also be able to re-download it on your Mac via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page.

To transfer your current hard drive I like the free application SuperDuper. It makes a bootable copy of everything on your hard drive http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/SuperDuperDescription.html  You'll need a cheap SATA external hard drive case. Put the new drive in the case then format and partition the new drive and clone your old drive to the new one. Check that it's set up right by booting up from the external drive. Then replace your old hard drive with the new one and put your old one in the external case.

  • How to I buy an ISO file of Windows 8.1 to install on my new MacBook bootcamp?

How to I buy an ISO file of Windows 8.1 to install on my new MacBook bootcamp?
I can only find DVDs of Win 8.1; the online download is for upgrades from Win 7 only.  I need a clean install version.

Yes, you can use a Parallels VM and run the Download Manager to download the Installation Media in a format of your choice. If your Mac has a built-in Optical drive, you can burn it. Please ensure you burn the DVD at the rate supported by the media. You should also verify the MD5sum/SHA1 for the downloaded file(s) using the Microsoft FCIV tool.

  • I'm about to buy my first MacBook Pro and I need a little help

    Hi everybody!
I'm about to buy my first MacBook pro and I have no experience on mac so I would be really thankfull if someone guides me to get an appropriate Notebook
Here are some imformations about what I want from a MacBook Pro:
    1) I have a limited budget so the price can not go anywhere upper than 2,000 dollars
    2) I'm a graphic designer working with photoshop, 3ds max and maya so I need strong CPU and VGA card
    3) 15 inches and high resolution
    4) Absolutly Lion OS
    5) weight doesn't matter!
    6) Ram doesn't matter cause I can upgrade it myself later when I got enogh money
    7) Hard capacity doesn't matter (I can upgrade it later too)
    8) It would be much better if it got HDMI port
    That's all
    Thanks for reading and answering

Except for #8, you're talking about the new entry-level MacBook Pro for $1,799.00 (see at http://store.apple.com/us/configure/MD103LL/A). It's a little less expensive at Amazon and you won't have to pay tax on it until you file next year instead of up-front.
It will do everything you need and, yes, you can upgrade it yourself when you get more cash. In fact, if you're willing to spend another $160 (still under your $2K limit) you can go ahead and upgrade the RAM to 16 GB. Later, spend $400 and put in a 512GB SSD.
Now to item #8. From monoprice, you can get a Thunderbolt-to-HDMI adapter for under $7 - click here.
You'll have exactly what you need for under $2K. Go for it...

I'm about to buy the MacBook Pro Retina 15 inch in USA. I will be using predominantly in Europe. What accessories should I be buying?

We can't discuss what Apple is going to do or new products, but it does make a lot of sense if your gut feelings tell you to buy now.
I got a really bad feeling and ran out and got the last of the 17" MBP's with anti-glare and Snow Leopard.
Turned out I was right in listening to my gut, the abortion of OS X Lion came out killed my 15", Cupertino HQ was pwned by Flashback and Apple pulled the 17" MBP completely off the market.
Apple has purposely put the Retinas front and center in their stores, so the majority of the know-nothings buy those. If they thought a bit about buying a machine with future options in upgrade options they would, like you, choose the non-Retina.
Really if you want choice in hardware, your going to have to switch to a PC. As you can pretty much get anything you need on that platform. Apple's hardware choices have been sealing up and their OS X is turning into iOS, soon it's going to be nothing more than a dumbed down iPad.
Windows 8 Pro can be downgraded to Window 7 even, and since Win 7 is supported until 2020, you should be set for quite a few more years. The choice of software is vast on Windows and it's sort of the next eveolutionary step up actually.

  • I am about to buy my first Macbook Pro, should I wait for the possibility for a 2015 macbook, or just get the most recent model currently? (9-22-14)

I am about to buy my first Macbook Pro, should I wait for the possibility for a 2015 macbook, or just get the most recent model currently? (9-22-14)

No one knows if there will be a new model and if so, when that would be. However, there always will be something bigger, better, and newer around the corner, so you'd be waiting forever.
Buy it when you want or need it.
FWIW, here are the specs of the latest models (which happen to be mid 2014):
