How...  ActiveX in MAS?

Hi, I wanted to know since I can use a control activeX in MAS, the examples with BlueBox of the course 310 or 320 are not at all clear.

why do you need an active/X for this?
Can't you just create 2 default blocks on dept and on emp.
Use the relationship wizard to define the relation. and set the number of records displayed for the emp block to 10?
This will give you all you need with no hussle.

  • ActiveX in MAS

Hello, I have already solved the as to make a control ActiveX and to insert it in a Tile... my problem is now that I am not able to return the content of a property Get from the control to Tile. Does somebody know like he/she could make it?
    Thank you.

Ignore the fact that you are working in JSP, and ask Google how to include ActiveX in a web page. Then do the same thing in the JSP.

  • Error while configuring MAS

    Hi,
Here I'm trying to setup a local environment (just for dev and practice) of MSA with MDW, Comm station,MRS.
I've installed MDW on my local machine here and MAR, Comm station on a remote machines.
There is a successful connection of DSN to the MAR.
Now when trying to open the Mobile application in the Application studio i.e.,
    1. Open MAS.
    2. Open Project
    3. Locate to C:\Program Files\SAP\Mobile\Bin.Net\MASProject\MASProject\MASProject.mtproj
while trying to open this, I'm getting an error saying that <b>"COM Object with CSLID is either not valid or not registered"</b>
After that, I got another error <b>"Object reference not set to an instance of an object."</b>
Please guide me in this issue. I feel that I'm missing something here.
If you have any document as how to configure MAS, please send it to [email protected]
    Regards,
    PG

You need to be administrator (or power user) of the machine running MAS.
I had this problem, and it was solved by getting more windows authorizations. Hope it solved your problem.

  • How can I get rid of a windows update deployment package?

We are using SCCM 2007 with a primary site server and four child sites.
I created a windows update list with a source directory and package.
Distributed the package to my primary site server and then from a child site distributed to a long list of distribution points on the child site and three other child sites below it.
This all worked fine we used the list and package to deploy security updates and added to the list each month, automatically distributing to all sites and distribution points.
One month the distribution failed on one  child site, all the other sites and distribution points got the refreshed package no problem. (Probably caused by the backup running on that site.)
This became a permanent problem which we finally fixed by creating a new list and package.
Now I'm trying to do a cleanup of the old package and partially failed distribution.
I've started by deleting the package from the primary sites distribution point.
Next from the child site where the package status is unlocked, I deleted from all the other distribution points.
The child site shows that the package distribution points have been deleted.
Unfortunately above and below the child site the package distribution points are still listed and locked.
(Looking at one of the listed distrubution points the package is on the server.)
Sorry for the big speech, does anyone know how to remove from the other distribution points and so be able to delete the package?
Any help or redirection would be great.

I don't have an answer, but I sure do have a question!!
I acquired the hacker in January.  In February both of my computers were destroyed.  I removed ALL forms of networking from my house -- TWC, all of my routers and adapters, etc.
I went to Best Buy and bought a new computer, then another, then 2 more -- all getting hit with a prefab image upon getting close to my doorway.
I am losing my home, etc, because I haven't been able to work in months.  This hacker finds me at the library, and wherever else I try to work, and he messes withmy typing, stalls my screen, empties my USBs.
I believe I am the victim of remote deployment, but how do I find where/who it is coming from?
I used my (corrupt) Gateway recovery disks the other day and watched how ActiveX and other rd tools were listed.
PLEASE, this has been going on for too long.  After  i gave up on computers, my house has been entered nearly every day.  The police literally think I am insane.
What can I do to get out of this deployment?
Might there be a network in my  home that I am unaware of??  If so, is it likely in the cable, the tv, the fire alarm, what?
    Warm regards,

  • MAS shortcut missing after installation

    Hi All,
On our Mobile development workbench,  we don't see any shortcut for MAS. However, there are shortcuts to MSA, AMT, and MSY.
    We have following questions:
How can we find out that the MAS is installed properly or not?
If MAS is installed properly, how to start MAS?
    Please advise.
Mobile components installed are of version 5.0 and SP 04.
We also installed the following software as they are prerequisite for MDW.
    OS : Windows XP Professional
    IE 7.0
    Microsoft SQL server 2000
    Microsoft SQL server 2005
    Java SDK 1.4.2_09
    Microsoft Visual studio 2005
    MS office 2007
Please let us know if we missed anything.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
currently I don't have access to a MSA environment but I guess that the .NET studio can be started from start menue -> programs -> ... .
As I might remember you need to select/open a "Mobile Laptop Solution" when starting the studio.
By the way: I remember that studio 2005 is not supported for 5.0 SP4 (only studio 2003), please check the install guide.

  • ActiveMovie Control,Translating ActiveX calls from Visual Basic into Labview

    Hello,
I want to use DirectX to display a movie. In the attached file is a Visual Basic example
which I tried to translate into Labview.
To play the movie IMediaControl from ActiveMovie control type library Version 1.0 C:\WINDOWS\system32\Quartz.dll) is used.
To display the current Position I tried to wire the IMediaPostion. But I have no idea how to implement this in the Block Diagram.
After opening it the following message is shown.

    Hello Joe,
the Windows Media Player has a lot of overhead. I also found it difficult to deal with the different Versions.
I want to display data in a graph and show the connected video frame in a separate window.
I used the QuartzTypeLib because it is on every Windows Computer and is easy to code in VB.
With one call I can start the video in Labview., but I find no way to wire the current position. I do not really understand how ActiveX is implemented in Labview. I attached a LV 7.0 vi. I hope you can open it.

  • ActiveX and the Web: The Inside Story

Am I right in believing thusly:
I am a financial analyst who's looking for the current foreign
exchange rate for various currencies every second moment. For this I
always telephone Phil de Lucre, the brokers and dealers of the forex
markets. They now have a website where I can logon and get the rate
    online. Cool, I think.
I type the URL of their website, which looks like
    http://www.ForexRatesOnYourTips.com/Calculator.asp, and lo! I am
greeted with a page that says, choose the currency for which you wish
to compare the rate against the Indian Rupee (INR). That makes me
happy. Then they have a textbox that says, now enter the amount in
Indian Rupees (INR) whose equivalant you wish to see in the foreign
currency. I enter Rs.100. "Good", I am thinking. Then I hit a button
captioned "Get me the darn rate and make it quick!".
    [BEHIND THE SCENES]
Phil de Lucre created one ActiveX DLL called Foo that knows exactly
how to convert exchnage of one currency into another. Foo proudly
resides on the web server of Phil de Lucre and brothers. Mr.Mone Flee,
the programmer at Phil de Lucre, commands in VBScript,
    Dim ObjFoo
    Set ObjFoo = Server.CreateObject("Lib.Foo")
And magically so, an object of the wonderous Foo is instantiated on
the web server. The web server reads requests made by my browser's
button "Get me the darn rate and make it quick!" and passes it on to
Foo in the Foo language. Foo, like it were a child's play, ardently
returns the rate converted to the web server. The web server whips
HTML out of it and displays on my page, the much coveted rate.
    [/BEHIND THE SCENES]
Makes me happy. Is this all about how ActiveX DLLs work in ASP? If I
am right, let's proceed with a case of an ActiveX control. How do they
    work?
Let's warp the scene a bit. Foo is not a COM DLL, but this time with
version 2, its just got a bit smarter and dainty with a dazzling
interface. It is now reborn as an ActiveX Control, and all the people
at Phil de Lucre make love to celebrate the new avatar.
When I hit the "Get me the darn rate and make it quick!" button this
time, what happens? No no! More importantly, I beleive something
happens even earlier, the moment I type
    http://www.ForexRatesOnYourTips.com/Calculator.asp, right?

Yes, you are right! There are *some* constraints on using an activeX
dll from an ASP script; All variables must be passed ByVal, and you have to
remember that the dll runs with the accessrights of the web-user account.
But apart from that, no great concerns...

    They shouldn't...
An activeX *Control* opens a whole new can of worms.
    >

    > happens even earlier, the moment I type
    > http://www.ForexRatesOnYourTips.com/Calculator.asp, right?
    Right!
Because now, Mr. Mone Flee have replaced the serverside call:
    Dim ObjFoo
    Set ObjFoo = Server.CreateObject("Lib.Foo")
    with the following:
    classid="clsid:28077E35-EE6F-4EFE-B274-7798CDB4CDCD"
    id="theFantasticCurrencyConverter">
Which tells your browser to go into the registry to look up the
component known by the name "28077E35-EE6F-4EFE-B274-7798CDB4CDCD",
and start it. Now, all the work are done locally on your computer.
This component must of course be present on your computer, and if not,
will result in one of two things...:
If Mr. Flee have included in his object tag a hint to where the componenet
can be found, a download and installation will occur...
....if not, the expected glorious interface will be replaced with a tiny
little picture of a red "X".
The "can of worms" part, lies in that if you download this component,
you place the life and sanity of your computer in the hands of Mr. Flee.
Because when his component are installed on your PC to do its job, its
given the full run of whatever code can do on a computer.
    Dag.

  • MapPoint ActiveX Control with Labview 7.1

I am looking for a basic example on how to integrate a MapPoint ActiveX control into a Labview vi so I can pull up maps at a given set of lat-long coordinates with zoom in and out capability.   I'm new to Labview and activex container use and have not previously attempted to program with MapPoint, but that is what I have to work with.  Not finding discussions on MapPoint use with Labview, at either MS site or here, so am looking for assistance to get me started.  Using Labview 7.1, MapPoint 2004 and Windows XP.

    Hi,
I'm afraid I don't have any experience with MapPoint, but some of the other members might. If so, it would be great if they could post any code they may have...
As a general rule, programming ActiveX is a little tricky since properties and methods aren't always documented well. Furthermore, the ActiveX hierarchies for a particular application can change from revision to revision. This is why programs using activeX to interface with Word or Excel have problems with different versions of Office. If you have to use Map Point, you may want to check MSDN for any information they may have. You may also want to check out the ActiveX examples in the Example Finder by searching for ActiveX. They should give a general understanding of how ActiveX programming is done on the LabVIEW side of things.
If you can use a web based application, it might make your life a little easier. You can specify lat long coordinates in Google Maps very easily. Im attaching a simple application that does this for you. Just enter the lat and long in decimal format and hit run. The resulting map will show up in the container on the front panel and you can pan or zoom to your heart's content. I hope this helps. Good luck with your application and happy holidays!

  • ActiveX and TestStand

Well I just finished CVI training and have been working TestStand for about a year.  I guess this query could have been sent in CVI as well as TestStand.  We discussed briefly how ActiveX kind of works.  I have the TestStand and CVI manuals and other literature, but what about ActiveX.  If I'm to do ActiveX work within TestStand or CVI, what text or manual can someone recommend that discusses ActiveX?

    TonyJ,

  • Automation Open and Automation Close (Excel)

    Hi
I am using ActiveX to write and read from Excel.
I am writing a program which a case statement is involved. When the boolean is true, the program in the case statment (View Result.VI) will open Excel and display the last save filename file. I run this program individually and not part of the main.vi program.
It displays the filename but once I close the file, the Excel also closed which I don't want it to do that.
I run my Main.vi (together with the View Saved Result.vi) and when I want to view the result, the program open Excel, but then, the screen hang and does not load the Excel properly. But when I run the View Saved Result.Vi, it does load properly.
I was wondering should I use Automation Close f
or every Excel workbook, worksheet or Invoke nodes which I have used in my program.
Please look at my JPEG file for understanding.
    Thanks,

I would not call Automation Close for each one. Once you call Automation Close, Excel will exit. That's just how ActiveX is built to work. As long as you want to leave the application open, you shouldn't close the ActiveX Automation controller.
I would actually suggest gettings the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolset for Microsoft Office. I have found it to be extremely helpful and it's actually quite easy to do what you're wanting to do with this Toolset.

  • 3d graphs over remote desktop

possibly can't be solved at the labview end of the problem, but worth mentioning anyway.
I'm running labview remotly from my home computer to a network. It all works except it won't display the 3d graphs.
Is this a common problem with activex regions??
Can it be solved somehow? (I'm currnetly getting a 'getimage' from the method nodes and simply grabbing an image of it and saving them to see them.)

  • Problem to plot the graph

Hi, I am a beginner in Labview. In my exercise, I want to display the 1D data I got from excel in the waveform graph in Labview but it does not appear. Here is my what I have done so far. I have data in excel which has 16 rows and 2 column. I have used path function and also read spreadsheet function to display my table in labview and it works. In My labview front panel displaying now, I have 16 rows and 2 column of data. I want to analyse the 2nd column only so I use array subset function to extract the 2nd column. When I run my labview, the size of my array is now 16x1. I want to display this as a waveform graph so I choose 1D waveform graph. When I run it, the graph doesn't show anything. Please give me advice for this.

    Hi,
thank you very much for your reply.
Previously, i change my excel data to CSV file before i applied it to the labview. Now,  I am planning to change my simulation from using 'read from spreadsheet" to use the activex as shown in your VI . Im still in the very basic stage of understanding what is activex, how activex and labview works together, how to display the data in the labview table (previously in the array indicator), and also how to analyse/process the data so i will need more intensive time to learn. However, in your VI, i cannot run it because there is a mismatch particularly in Variant to data Function as shown in pict below
The thing that still make me curious until now is why i cannot plot my array of data in waveform graph. When i plot it in Chart, the plot is appear but in the  graph, there is no plot. . i try to track by mark the point that might be plotted but it shows only in point 0,0. If you dont mind, can you look at my work in my attachment?. I will attach my VI, and also the data in csv format. Thanks before

  • Problem with new install of InfoView

I have recently installed CR2008 Server V1.  I set up a test user and then logged on to InfoView as the test user.  There is an item in the inbox.  When I try to open it, I get this message:
    Status report
message Invalid path /CrystalReports/view was requested
description The request sent by the client was syntactically incorrect (Invalid path /CrystalReports/view was requested).
It appears that not everything has been installed either on the server or on the client. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the reply.  It was indeed the version of IE.  However, even with IE 8, you have to add the application to the Compatability View Settings under Tools.  I also had to go to preferences in InfoView for Crystal Reports and change it to the option for Web (no download required).  That may not be necessary in all cases depending on what is installed on the machine and how ActiveX is set up.
