How to add new host to 11g grid control
I have install silently oem agent 11g in a solaris system. The installation was successful and agent is up and running.
But the thing is I can't add this client and its database in my OEM Grid Control interface. When I try to add the target it shows the bellow error
Information
You cannot add a host target from Enterprise Manager Grid Control.
To add a host target, install the Oracle Management Agent on the host computer you want to manage. When the Management Agent begins communicating with the Oracle Management Service, the Management Agent target and the Host target will appear in the list of targets.
My Question is how i can the target's agent can communicate with OMS agent? and How this target can be incorporated?Hi,
the host and agent targets should show up right after installation of the agent, if securing was successful. I assume the error happened somewhere there.
Can you please paste the output of following command:
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/emctl status agent
where ORACLE_HOME is set to your newly installed agent?
Also, please check if you see any errors in $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/log/emagent.log and emagent.trc about communication between the agent and your OMS.
Best regards,

Add WebLogic Domain to OEM Grid Control
On a host, say x, i have installed OEM grid Agent Version: 11.1.0.1.0. The host is listed on OEM grid control. On this host i have a weblogic domain version 10.3.3. Now i am trying to add this weblogic domain to OEM 11g grid control which is on a different host.
It gives the following error
Error: Failed to connect to agent x:3872
Failed to connect to agent x:3872. Reason: java.net.UnknownHostException: x.
Only an agent 11.1 or later can be used for finding targets.
How can i solve this?bummer.. any response? I'm getting the same error now, and the documentation isn't all that clear gasp

DISPLAY not set.
Set DISPLAY environment variable, then re-run.
How to set DISPLAY environment variable.
Thanks,
Rafi.Normally, you set DISPLAY to an IP address with the suffix : and 0.0: the IP address must match a machine able to display X11 windows.
Example with Linux bash shell:
export DISPLAY=192.168.0.1:0.0What is your OS version ? What is your shell (bash, ksh, sh, csh) ? How do you connect to the UNIX host ?

OMS unable to reach host in 10g grid control
Greetings Gurus:
I installed oracle 10g grid control r2 and agent on a windows xp machine. on another windows xp machine i installed the agent. i am able to see the host in grid control on the machine with the grid control installed but cannot see the remote machine with only the agent installed. i have reloaded and uploaded, started and stopped the agent using emctl and opmnctl without any issues(this is on the remote machine) but still cannot see the remote host. when i try to secure the agent on the remote machine i get the following:
Requesting an HTTPS Upload URL from the OMS... Failed.
The OMS is not set up for Enterprise Manager Security.
I am fairly new at using grid control and standby database and have had a torrid time trying to fix this problem. your assistance would be greatly appreciated*1. Stop dbconsole*
emctl stop agent
OR
emctl stop dbconsole
*2. Secure it*
emctl secure dbconsole sysman_pwd agent_reg_pwd
*3. Start dbconsole*
emctl start dbconsole
*4. After some time when the dbconsole starts check the status*
emctl status

How to monitor Oracle Glassfish with Grid Control 11g
Hi,
Could someone tell me how can i monitor Oracle Glassfish with Grid Control 11g ?? i think i need a plug-in but i don't know where could i download it
I guess the information i can monitor depends on the plug-in :)
Regards
CarlosHi Carlos,
We do have partners that routinely write plug-ins to extend OEM. If you take a look at the EM Extensibility Exchange below, you will find various extensions that partners such as Blue Medora have written:
http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=34841:1:26399399216901:::::
Please keep in mind though that between SLM and JVM diagnostics, you would have a significant amount of visibility even without the Glassfish target.

Can we add page numbers to ALV Grid Control.
Hi All,
1.My requirement is to display page numbers when we down load the list in to EXCEL.
Can we do this in ALV Grid Control.
2.Can we display the page numbers in the SAP Query,when we down load the out put list in to the EXCEL.
Thanks & Regards,
Seshadri GHi Seshadri,
No, it is not possible to print the page number when you download the list to EXCEL. Because in ALV grid the report output is display as table contorl and this data can not be divided into page when you download to EXCEL.

HOW TO USE HOST COMPUTER VI TO CONTROL COMPACTRIO DIGITAL OUTPUTS
Hi,
I am designing a closed loop control system using Labview FPGA and CompactRio real time target. I am using FPGA for the control system coding. I want to use the host computer to monitor some signal levels and send out a signal using NI9401 module to control external amplifier. The host computer does not have memory capacity to hold labview software. Can I use executable on this host computer so I can have this front panel to monitor the control system? Could you tell me how to monitor signal levels going in and coming out from FPGA (is there sample vi I can look to get an idea? I am using Ethernet cable to connect compactrio to host computer ) Thanks!Hi suni,
if you work with LabVIEW 8.6, then you can use the scan engine to get the values from your fpga to the real time target. If you do so, then you only need to work with shared variables. To see all your values on your host pc, you can create an executable which can read and write values over tcp/ip. There are a lot of examples about it, use the example finder please. To use the scan engine is only one way, you can write all the communication by yourself. For the communication between real time and host, i would use tcp/ip instead of shared variables.

Cannnot remove host target in Grid Control 10.2
Chaps,
I'm trying to remove a agent discovered in grid. I've done:
1) agent is running
2) removed all database targets, listeners etc discovered in grid
3) shutdown agent
4) tried removing the host from either the hosts or all targets page, but the remove just hangs for ages and then comes up with:
"No Response from Application Web Server"
Grid is running ok as far as I can tell.
Anyone with any advice before I raise yet another SR?
Thanks,
BazzaSorry too lazy to search!! Apologies.
In the end I did (on oracle support advice):
exec mgmt_admin.delete_target ('<name o/t target>','<type o/t target>',0,0,1);
exec mgmt_admin.cleanup_agent('<name o/t agent>');
And that appears to have done the trick. Was that your script?
Neither script took long to run.
Thanks,

How to add check box in SAP B1 grid controls..
hi all,
Anyone know how to add check box in SAP grid control?
It will be great if you could show me some sample code.
thanks.
regards,
sohchHi Sohch,
1. First of all you should define the Column in a matrix as it_CHECK_BOX. Like
oColumns = oMatrix.Columns
oColumn = oColumns.Add("chk_YesNo", SAPbouiCOM.BoFormItemTypes.it_CHECK_BOX)
oColumn.TitleObject.Caption = "YesNo"
oColumn.Width = 60
oColumn.Editable = True
2. Bind it with a DBDataSource as defined
oColumn = oColumns.Item("chk_YesNo")
oColumn.DataBind.Bind("UDTable", "U_YesNo")
3. Make Sure that the value that is being put into the Database is either 'Y' or 'N'.
Hope this Helps

Naming database inside Grid Control
Hi,
I have one question about database names in Database tab of Grid Control.
What is happening:
I have static definition of my services in the listener.ora file, and when I have installed Grid Control Agent on this node
Oracle registers name like this in my databases tab of Grid Control:
DBNAME_HOSTNAME.DBDOMAIN
I want to register my database like dbname.dbdomain. Is it possible? Can I have any control of naming of databases in Grid Control?
When I haven’t static definition of services in my listener.ora file, database is good registrated (*dbname.dbdomain*).
Thanks,
Best regards
DraganYes you have control of naming databases in Grid Control.
When you add a database target to grid control, after chosing the host you'll see the databases on that host. Under the databases there is an option: "Manually add" If you chose this option you can name the database target however you want. so you can delete the database target from grid, and add again with manual option... -
Oracle 10g XE - Want to install OMA for Grid Control
I have a client machine that uses 10g XE as the Oracle database.
How can I add this database to 10g Grid Control (in other words how do I install the agents on this server) ? (windows 2003, not linux or unix)
ThanksI have a client machine that uses 10g XE as the
Oracle database.
How can I add this database to 10g Grid Control (in

You install agents on the server, just like installling agents on any server. Download the Enterprise Managerment Grid Control disks from http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/index.html and select 'Install Additional Agent'.
Grid Control will not provide the same level of administration in Express as it does in the other Editions. -
Data Guard configuration for RAC database disappeared from Grid control
Primary Database Environment - Three node cluster
RAC Database 10.2.0.1.0

After adding a logical standby database through Grid Control for a RAC database, I noticed sometime later the Data Guard configuration disappeared from Grid Control. Not sure why but it is gone. I did notice that something went wrong with the standby creation but i did not get much feedback from Grid Control. The last thing I did was to view the configuration, see output below.

Here are the steps followed to add the standby database in Grid Control
Maintenance tab
Setup and Manage Data Guard
Logged in as sys
Add standby database
Create a new logical standby database
Perform a live backup of the primary database
Specify backup directory for staging area
Specify standby database name and Oracle home location
Specify file location staging area on standby node
At the end am presented with a review of the selected options and then the standby database is created
Has any body come across a similar issue?
Thanks,Any resolution on this?
I just created a Logical Standby database and I'm getting the same warning (WARNING: No credentials available for target ...) when I do a 'Verify Configuration' from the Data Guard page.
Everything else seems to be working fine. Logs are being applied, etc.
I can't figure out what credentials its looking for.
