How and Where to change ESS payslip property as READ only Mode

Hi,
We are SAP ECC5.0 and using EP6 for ESS payslip. We have a problem
launching ESS payslip for those employees who have Acrobat Editor and
Reader installed. One can actually change the payslip information via
Acrobat Editor when click onto PRINT button.
However, for those without Acrobat Editor installed in the PC, we do
not have such problem. Please advise how to resolve this.
Was told to change ESS payslip property as READ only Mode. Unable to find this in the configuration setting.

Note that this code specifically disables only application arrays. Disabled items are not available after submission (and hence are different from readonly) . But any page javascript can modify disabled or readonly items(client side), so you must check at the server side to validate the data.
You can disable items using
disableItems('MY_REGION_ID' ,true);and enable them by passing false
disableItems('MY_REGION_ID' ,false);

Hello Gurus;
We need to display a given portfolio item to the user in display (read only) mode.
We have managed to open a view to the portfolio item using function INM_UI_NAV_GET_OIF_URL to obtain its URL and FM CALL_BROWSER to open it. The problem is that the item is opened in edit mode.
Is there any way to open this item in read only mode (and disable the 'Edit' button as well)?

Are you just asking because you want to know, or do you have a problem you need to solve? I don't know how to write a program, but I think what your are describing is not an unusual thing for a program to do. The * tells you that changes have been made since the last save, and the program reserves a portion of memory for undo functions. I suppose a coder could tell you how it works, but I don't think it would help an average user to know, but that's just my opinion.

All you can do is restore from backup. To do that see the restore topic of:

Also, turn off autosyncing so that when you reconnect the iPod to yuor computer the old backup does not get overwritten . To turn off go iTunes>Preferences>Devices and check the box that says "Prevent iPods...".
iTunes only retains the most recent backup and updates it with the changes.

Hi Chandra,
The Deletion flag for the BP is stored in tabl BUT000. The field is XDELE. In the table, this field has description 'Central Archiving Flag'. You cannot maintain deletion flag from the UI. THe UI only allows you to maintan the Archiving Flag. To maintain the deletion flag,you need to use transaction BUPA_PRE_DA. The selction screen in BUPA_PRE_DA is self explanatory,mark the appropriate flags and execute.
Archiving flag and deletion flag have the same field on th e UI, but the flags have different INTERNAL STATUS.
To Check for DUPLICATE records -
Implement the BADI ADDRESS_SEARCH. You can refer to the SAP provided implementation SIC_ADDRESS_SEARCH also. This does the duplicate check while creating and changing BP's .

How and where can these diverse pdf files be combined?

First, make sure you open Acrobat, and not Adobe Reader. It's a common mistake.
From Acrobat, use File | Create | Combine Files into a Single PDF:
On the next panel you can select the files you want to combine, rearrange them, etc., and finally click Combine.
P.S. your menu may look slightly different, as we may not be using the same Acrobat version.

the first time we installed a new SAP-System with sapinst on DB2/LUW V9.
SAP works. (As yet we "drove" DB2 only on z/os)
SAP Created four db2 User : DB2<SID>, <SID>ADM, SAP<SID> and SAP<SID>DB!
They all have no "Grant" privilege?
How and where can i do a User grant to SYSADM,SYSCTRL,.. ,
there's no admin?

Hi Markus,
in addition to explicit GRANTs DB2 LUW has the concept of privileges.
db2<dbsid> is instance owner and part of the SYSADM group db<dbsid>adm.
<sapsid>adm is part of the SYSCTRL group db<dbsid>ctl.
sap<sapsid> is part of the SYSMAINT group db<dbsid>mnt.
In addtion to that <sapsid>adm is DBADM. This right is explicitly granted during the installation with SAPInst.
The relationship between OS group and privilege is controlled by the database manager configuration parameters SYSADM, SYSCTRL and SYSMAINT.
The rights of these privileges are described in the DB2 documentation.

Settings>Cellular>Personal Hotspot. The carrier has to support this for you. This is where you should find the setting to turn it on or off.
