How are Aperture and Yosemite getting along so far?

How are Aperture and Yosemite getting along so far?
Hi guys,
Is it OK for Aperture users to take the plunge and update to Yosemite, or is it wiser to wait for kinks to be worked out first? I didn't find any reference to this matter so far on this forum or on the web. I may have mort worded it correctly.
Thanks for responding,
Raphael
Also,
Why do I constantly run into the statement: "You are not allowed to create or update this content" when I click on "Post"? So annoying ....

Aperture 3.6 and Yosemite have been a nightmare for me unfortunately.  Every time I try to open it since updating to Yosemite it quits unexpectedly within 5 seconds or less.  I've tried repairing and rebuilding the library but that did not help.  Just get the below message.

  • How are attribute and text master data tables linked in SAP R/3?

    Hello,
    how are attribute and text master data tables linked in SAP R/3?
    Most tables with attribute master data like T001 for company codes,
    have a text master data table T001T (add "T" to table name).
    When looking at the content of table T001 via transaction se11,
    the text are automatically joined.
    But for some tables there is no "T"-table (e.g. table TVBUR for sales offices
    has no text table TVBURT), but in se11 you get texts. There is an address
    link in TVBUR, but the Name1, etc. are empty.
    a) Where are the text stored?
    b) How does the system know of the link?
    Hope someone can help!
    Best regards
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas
    The master and text table are not linked by name, of course, if you see the text table, it has the same key fields of master table, only it has the field key spras and the field for description.
    The link beetween the tables is done by foreign key: if you check the text table TVKBT u need to see how the foreign key for field VKBUR is done:
    -> Foreing key with table TVBUR
    -> Foreing key field type -> KEY FIELD FOR A TEXT TABLE
    ->Cardinality-> 1-:CN
    It's very important the attribute sets for Foreing key field type, if it's KEY FIELD FOR A TEXT TABLE, it'll mean the table is a text table: i.e. that mean the master table is a check table for the text table, where the foreign key type is for text table.
    U can find out the text table of master table by SE11: GoTo->Text Table
    U can fined some information in table DD08L.

    I have just bought a Panasonic Lumix compact camera. Aperture and Preview can't open the RAW files from this camera. Panasonic recommend downloading 'SYLKPIX Developer Studio SE' to save RAW file formats.How can Aperture and Preview read the files?

    Either use 'SYLKPIX Developer Studio SE' to develope the RAW files and to save them in another lossless format like TIFF, or try if Adobe's free DNG Coverter can convert your Lumix RAW files to dng. Then import the dngs. This way, your files will still be RAW files.  This works (most times) for my Lumix FZ28.

  • "How are local and state taxes setup/updated when employee's address change

    Hi All
    I wanted to know "How are local and state taxes setup/updated when employee's address changes . - How is it done in SAP? -
    Thanks in Advance

    This defeats the purpose of trying to centralize SAP-related web resources on the SAP server. Typically IIS/Apache or other non-SAP servers are under the control of IT and not the SAP BASIS group.
    We simply would like to have a centralized location to store static web files so that they are not overwritten during Portal support pack applications.

  • How are objects and values passed in rmi?

    how are objects and values passed in rmi?

    In java there are two mwthods of passing aruguments and returning results.
    1) by value
    2) by reference.
    While invoking local methods, java passes primitive types by value and objects by reference.
    However while invoking remote methods both these data types are passed by value. Except for the objects being exported. Reason being two different JVM's are involved and thus memory addresses references of one are meaningles for the other. However "pass by value" for values of type object are implemented as deep copy.

  • How do aperture and iphoto interact

    I am purchasing a new imac this week and am trying to get an idea on what software I want.  I've been using adobe photoshop elements for the past few years when I needed to fix any photos and iphoto to sort and 'hold' my collection.  I've been reading about aperture 3 and cannot find clear information on how it does or doesn't interact with iphoto.
    From what I've been able to discern, aperture is more of a photo management system and PSE is more of a photo adjustment program.. correct?
    So if I buy aperture3, when I download photos, does Aperture receive them or do they still come in through iphoto?  And if it is the latter, do iphoto and aperture work together?
    I've looked at some earlier posts but I have not found a clear answer.  I do not want to duplicate software but I also was not that clear before on how iphoto and PSE might work together.  It seemed like I had iphoto import the pictures and when I needed to, I opened pse and used it to fix or play with a photo.
    I also have my camera software, but the sort of adds to my confusion.  But maybe computers that don't have a program like iphoto need the camera software.
    I'd appreciate hearing what works and what experienced aperture and/or PSE might tell me.

    Hello Calxoddity, Roger and Kirby,
    All three of your answers were very helpful and I appreciate your time.  I tried to send this reply message a few minutes ago and when I went to hit send, it said I was not logged in... I HAD been logged in so maybe it timed out.  Anyway, this post comes through twice I am sorry.
    I was feeling pretty befuddled with what to do, adding this topic to the decision on which computer to buy, etc.  So your time and wisdom helped me to get my needs into perspective.  I think I will start with the newer iphoto that comes on my imac and get PSE9 since my version of PSE is very old.. LOL  and then, spend some time learning about aperture 3, since as Roger mentioned, I can import/move the files over to aperture at a future time.  Since aperture 3 is the most expensive, it seems a wise move.
    Oh, did read Kirby's article/post, thank you, very well written to help a newbie get a handle, and will watch the online tutorial for aperture 3 as well.  And maybe it will tell me there, but right now, with iphoto I can easily email a photo and I think it will easily be shared with an ipad2.  If I get aperture 3 and use it instead of iphoto, does it have an easy interface for sharing via email and/or the ipad?
    Thanks again, you are great!

  • How are attributes and texts for a master data linked and targeted to ...?

    Our previous consultants used to load data to master data 0MATL_GROUP.
    1. RSA1 -> InfoProvider -> Select 0MATL_GROUP or 0MATL_GROUP___T
    Check these above two and find the records loaded are both 1,216 for Language EN.
    We check the data flow of this master data (0MATL_GROUP or 0MATL_GROUP___T) and find there are four branches which target 0MATL_GROUP:
    branch 1: 0MATL_GROUP is itself an InfoSource and the datasource is 0PROD_CATEG_R3_MAP_ATTR.  However under this datasource, there is no any InfoPackage, i.e., the system doesn't load data to 0MATL_GROUP through this branch.
    branch 2: Through InfoSource 0MATERIAL_ATTR.  However the InfoPackage under this InfoSource target data load to 0MATERIAL but not 0MATL_GROUP, i.e., the system doesn't load data to 0MATL_GROUP through this branch.
    branch 3: Through InfoSource ZMATL_GROUP_ATTR and it's corresponding datasource Z_MAT_GROUP_ATTR.  InfoPackage monitor shows the data load record for this datasource is 490 (Run RSA3 on R3 for this datasource also gives the same record count).
    branch 4: Through InfoSource 0MATL_GROUP_TEXT and it's corresponding datasource has the same name. InfoPackage monitor shows the data load record for this datasource is 1190 for Language EN (RSA3 on R3 for this datasource gives the same count for language EN).
    2. InfoObj. 0MATL_GROUP
    1). Master data tab (/BI0/PMATL_GROUP): 526
    2). Text table (/BI0/TMATL_GROUP):
    1657 (includes both EN and other lan-guages), for EN: 1190.
    3. Check R3 Table T023T (Material Group Descrip-tions) for EN: 1190.
    Our questions are:
    1. The InfoProvider 0MATL_GROUP and 0MATL_GROUP___T
    both have counts of 1,216 for Language EN.  And for the four branches in the data flow, only 3rd and 4th branches feed data to it.  3rd branch (datasource Z_MAT_GROUP_ATTR) feed count is 490 and 4th branch (datasource 0MATL_GROUP_TEXT) feed count is 1190 for Language EN. We wonder how attribute and text data are corelated to each other and with it's master data.  Obviously 1,216 is not equal to the sum of 1190 and 490, the how 1190 (text) and 490 (attribute) constitute the master data count 1,216?
    2. Do we have to use 1st and 2nd branches to feed data to 0MATL_GROUP?
    3. How InfoObj. 0MATL_GROUP Master data tab (/BI0/PMATL_GROUP) shows the count is 526?  it should be 490 from the custom datasource Z_MAT_GROUP_ATTR, right? But why the count is different?
    We would be appreciated any expert input!

    Kevin,
    can you check the data in Material Group charecterstic againest R/3. One moe thing check how these 4 branches Mapped to material Group?
    Take the for Attributes it should be 490. it is 525. try to analyse what are the extra records comparing with Source. take the you found so and so meterial group extra then analyze from where is it getting extracted to BW i mean which DS.. (either branch 1 or brach 2 or branch 3 or 4). then check in R/3 side DS for the 4 branches. then you will know what exactly happening.
    Analyze the data from step by step from r/3 to BW for each level. You will get clue.

  • How are stacks and version sets handled in Mobile Albums

    I am thinking of purchasing PSE 12.  However, I have a question about the way stacks and version sets are handled in Mobile Albums within Revel.
    When photos are in stacks or version sets in PSE 12 and I sync those photos to Mobile Albums in Revel, do the photos also appear as stacks and version sets in Revel?  Or, do the photos which were in stacks and version sets in PSE 12 appear individually (i.e. un-stacked and not in version sets) in Revel?

    I had the same issue. It took me a lot of time playing with the interface before I finally figured out the problem. Even though, when you double click a photo (single view) from within the default grid view, you "do" get the option to expand a stack or version set (not greyed out). However, it does not work. My frustration with that is that since it was not greyed out you would naturally expect it to be functional and it is not. In grid view the option is greyed out however that caused confusion as well since this option works in Elements 12 default view. So, one assumes it is a defect. Right? So the solution is to switch the grid view to detail view (view -> detail). Once you do that then the expand function works as expected. This should have been explained as I believe it is a change in functionality (user work flow) from earlier versions. I did try to find wording about this in the help file but no luck.

  • How are JNDI and JDBC related or implemented using EJB's

    For instance if I create an Entity bean, how do I get access to the database?
    Do I create some sort of connection method?
    Is JNDI used to lookup the beans and JDBC separate from that only to connect to the database?
    I am a little confused.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    With respect to entity bean you need a Datasource for obtaining a sql connection to database. After obtaining a connection to database you can persist your entity bean's state to database.
    Once you create a datasource, you have to bind it to a JNDI name. This JNDI name can then be used to lookup datasource, just like you use telephone directory to obtain a person's telephone no if you have his address.
    You also bind your enity bean to a unique JNDI name so that clients can lookup the bean and use services offered by it.
    JNDI is used to lookup EJBs, datasources, JMS Connection factories, etc and JDBC is used so that you can persist your enterprise java bean's state to database.

  • How are passwords and certificates encoded in .mobileconfig?

    The Enterprise Configuration Utility generates a human-readable XML file from which the iPhone can read and apply settings. However, the password and certificate portions of the file are encoded in such a way as to obfuscate them.
    Does anyone know the encoding algorithm? I need to know so that I can generate my own XML file with my own custom-built tool. The following statement in the Enterprise Deployment Guide suggests that Apple supports custom tools: “This appendix specifies the format of mobileconfig files for those who want to create their own tools.” But it doesn’t mention the encoding algorithm.

    Hi,
    I'm trying to find out how user passwords are stored in Discovererthey are not. the discoverer do not maintain the users or the password.
    the discoverer has 2 ways of connecting to the DB, none of them are users created by "discoverer" :
    1. using database users, so that the users and passwords are stored in the db (fnd_users)
    2. using apps mode, the discoverer users uses their oracle application connection string (user, responsibility).
    and here the oracle application maintain the users and responsibilities.

  • How are listbox and radiobutton items working in oracle forms?!?

    Hi all.
    I need some help over may be a standard case in every real project.
    Imagine i have a db table PERSONS -> PERSONID, NAME, TOWNID, MATRIALSTATUSID
    and table TOWNS -> TOWNID, TOWNNAME
    and table MATRIALSTATUS -> MATRIALSTATUSID, NAME
    And i have a standard oracle form with text item person name, listbox item with many towns (from TOWNS table) and the town of the concrete person is selected when the form is inited, after that we can change it by selecting other town and saving it to db.
    The same is with matrial status but lets make it as radio group with 3 buttons married, not merried, divorced.
    So my questions is how to populate the listbox(radiogroup) for 1 person by selecting data from other preferenced tables. And most important how this data is populated in the list box for example i.e. every town name is indexed in some way or what. I am a java developer and for example in java the control listbox item has two attributes the name(string) that is displayed in the listbox and a index binded for that name, and i work with indexes and show strings. I read about LOV but couldn't understand how to "index" the populated values. Is it possible.
    And please can you give me some example of how to load (populate + set current town), change and (if it is possible) "index". The same case appears to be valid with radio buttons and check boxes.
    You could give me some tutorials too, i cant find simple and focused on the problem examples.
    Thank you.
    Best Regards.

    Hi,
    well here is what i done for now.
    First I created recordGroup with query SELECT GENDER, GENDERID FROM GENDERS (I want to select all genders and place them in listbox)
    After that i created Listbox and on triger when-new-form i placed this code:
    DECLARE
    it ITEM:=FIND_ITEM('PERSONS_DETAILS.GENDER');
    BEGIN
    CLEAR_LIST(it);
    POPULATE_LIST(it, 'RG_LIST');
    DEFAULT_VALUE(NULL, 'GLOBAL.PERSONID');
    IF :GLOBAL.PERSONID IS NOT NULL THEN
    SET_BLOCK_PROPERTY('PERSONS_DETAILS', ONETIME_WHERE, 'PERSONID=' || :GLOBAL.PERSONID);
    GO_BLOCK('PERSONS_DETAILS');
    EXECUTE_QUERY;
    :GLOBAL.PERSONID:=NULL;
    END IF;
    END;
    Imagine i have a main form PERSONS that displays general information about many persons (the data is retrieved from PERSONS db table). The form PERSONS displays PERSONID, PERSON FIRSTNAME and PERSON LASTNAME. When a user double click on some row from the PERSONS FORM( i have tabular datablock that displays the person data) other form 'PERSONS_DETAILS' must be displayed with detailed information about the selected person. The data about the selected person is loaded well but i want gender to be listbox and the user can change it if he wants. So i have TABLE GENDERS 1:N with PERSONS and the table has GENDERID AND GENDER. When the user double clicks on single person i must populate the list with all possible genders from the GENDERS table and set the gender of the selected person. How to do that?
    P.S.: The example with gender is not very good because it could be only male female, but don't worry about it. You may think about gender list as townlist :)
    It finds me the GENDER LIST and populates it. After that i take the personId (that is global variable and comes from previous form) and displays all the data for the person with id personid.
    When i compile the form it gives me :
    FRM-30351: No list elements defined for list item.

    My requirement is to find how the BSIS-XBLNR can be linked to COEP?
    pl advise.

    To put my question in a better way,
    when I enter a document with FB50, it generates controlling docs and also populates the FI doc number in the reference field of COEP.
    When I post a document with KB21N, it does generate the FI docs but does not populate the reference doc field.
    I need to find how is FB50 behaving. I tried to do a debug but not of much help.

    I just want to know whey Mozilla is excluding a big sector of the mobile phone community. There are so many more BlackBerry users at least here in the US than Android and Nokia phone users. Please advise why I have to be excluded from using my favorite browser on my BlackBerrry Torch 9800.

    We do have plans to create a BlackBerry version of our iOS app, Firefox Home. For details, see http://blog.mozilla.com/mobile/2010/09/28/firefox-home-looking-to-the-future/
