  • How are pictures in Photoshop elements 9 linked to program?

    I have 40,00 plus pictures shown in my elements program and since I bought and loaded Photoshop elements 9 (I previously had versions 3,4,5,6,7,8), I get the notice "searching for missing files" and can't use the program software for photo processing. I downloaded all my pictures from Windows 7 pictures on my computer and uninstalled Photoshop Elements 9 from my computer..
    When I reinstalled PE 9, my pictures were there even though I had eliminated them (I thought) from my hard drive and the problem of "searching for muissing file" still existed.
    How are my pictures attached to PE 9 and how do I eliminate that link and start all over with PE 9?
    Need help

    Ohboy 108Thanks for your suggestions and interest.I downloaded all my pictures to an external hard drive, cleared out my internal hard drive photos and now use my external hard drive as the storage and source.No problem with "Elements" constantly looking for lost files.

    My guess is that you have solved the problem but if continues maybe this will help. I had a similar problem where pictures kept showing up in Organizer even though I had deleted the catalog and rebuilt it and even uninstalled and reinstalled PSE 9.  I solved it by checking under edit-preferences-files and making sure that the save location was correct.  I also changed the catalog location from the default.  I suspect that there was a registry entry pointing to the old file and/or catalog location.

  • How are Adobe products (Photoshop CS, Illustrator, etc.) going to interface with Windows 8?

    I'm already bristling at the "apps" terminology--does anybody know how professional software is going to be integrated with Windows 8? I heard a horrible rumor today that only 2 programs could be open at a time with that OS--can you imagine? Eeks! I'd like to know what Adobe is planning for this--I might just have to hop over to Apple, even though that would be a pain.

    Windows 8 still has a "Desktop", on which legacy applications like Photoshop and everything you run today in Windows 7 or earlier will still run, though Microsoft seems to be actively moving away from that metaphor.  They've made the desktop far less pretty to use, ditching all the visual styles.
    Photoshop CS6 works just fine on the Windows 8 desktop.  I've tested it.
    However, your "Eeks!" comment is quite an appropriate response to Windows 8's "Metro" environment, where the focus is on running an "app" full screen, or at best tiled with one other app sharing the screen.  The system basically has a dual personality - Metro and Desktop - and the two are NOT integrated well at all.
    You'd think Microsoft would just come out with a separate product for tablets.  What they're doing makes little sense for the half a billion or so folks using desktop computers.

  • How are you backing up data? (Movies, Photos, Music, etc.)

    Wondering how people are backing up their photos, home movies, and music.
    I personally am starting to run out of hard drive space on my external HD and wondering is just buying hard drives the best way to archive? Currently I have Media Files (photos, home movies, and music) and various documents backed up from my iMac to these three methods:
    A: An external drive. My main backup of stuff.
    B: I have another External HD which I only use for family photos.
    C: About every two months I archive data to DVD's (two copies each) and that goes into the big box in the closet.
    D: FTP Started to use FTP for stuff, since I have 100 gigs of online space. But this is really inefficient as my DSL speeds aren't that great. So I have abandoned this option.
    Is there any other method you use that I haven't thought of? Something that would last me the next 4-5 years. I know HD DVD is coming, and HD's are getting cheaper daily. But at this rate I will be buying and transfering everytime a new media format comes out.
    Cheers.

  • How are Ipad users finding Ipad for reading books, novels, etc.

    Hi - I have not purchased an iPad yet, but was wondering what user's experiences have been so far with reading books - i.e. spending a lot of time reading on the device. I know some say reading on a LED backlit screen is harsh on the eyes and causes strain over time. I have a MacBook Pro and have not had this problem reading on my notebook, but then again, I have never read an entire novel on my notebook.
    Just curious about user experiences.
    Thanks
    M.

    3 ipad apps for reading and acquiring books-iBooks, kindle and kobo.
    I am preferring iBooks and kobo because you do not leave the app to shop for books.
    I have read 1 whole novel and assorted bits of others.
    No eye strain. Those complaining they are to frail to hold 1.5 lbs for an extended time need to learn to cradle the ipad on their forearm and join a gym
    if the content you are reading is any good-you quickly forget about the device. It gets out of the way of the content and you because of the simplicity of the interface.

    Hello, I tried to use the download Photoshop 2014, cc, But when I open it: it says: the programm can't be opened, because its not installed well, but I did everything normall. What can be the cause? Kind regards

    Neeltjed88553434 how are you opening Photoshop CC 2014?  Are you using the process listed in Creative Cloud Help | Launch Creative Cloud apps?  Did you install Photoshop CC 2014 utilizing the steps listed in Creative Cloud Help | Install, update, or uninstall apps?

    How do I delete excess email messages from my iPhone.  There are 300 messages listed, and every time I delete some, more are added from old messages.  How do I limit the number of messages that can appear on my phone?  How can I delete messages in bulk,

    You can't.
    All photos transferred from your computer are stored in the Photo Library. The photos in the album or albums below are not duplicates - they include a pointer to the original photos stored in the Photo Library. This way you can view the photos in a particular album only by selecting the album, or you can view all photos available in all albums by selecting Photo Library.
    Just as with an iTunes playlist. A song cannot be in an iTunes playlist unless the song is in the main iTunes library. Placing a song in a playlist does not duplicate the song. Remove the main iTunes library or the songs from the main iTunes library that are in a playlist and the songs will no longer be in the playlist either. This way you can listen to the songs in the playlist only by selecting the playlist, or all songs in your entire iTunes library by selecting Music under Library in the iTunes source list.
    The same with iPhoto on a Mac. A photo cannot be in an in iPhoto Event or Album unless the photo is in the main iPhoto library. Placing a photo in an Event or Album does not duplicate the photo. This way you can view the photos in an iPhoto Event or Album only by selecting the Event or Album, or all photos in all Events or Albums.

  • Need to know the API which will extract how many users are added in group..

    Hello,
    I am working in Oracle Portal. In the portal we have Oracle Indentity Management where we are adding users as well as the group. We are looking for an API which helps us to do that from PL/SQL code. We got it but we have some issue. We know that how to create group, add users to group, delete users from group, delete group but we unable to get how many users already added to the group. Can anybody help me out in this case. It is urgent!
    Thanks
    Golak Saha

    How to check ,how many  users are logged in and logged out in oracle ebs 11i/R12.
    Please check the following links:
    Oracle EBS - Number of Users logged into EBS / Oracle Applications currently
    List all users currently logged in on Oracle EBS
    Also see forum Search:
    Forum Search: Logged In EBS User
    Also, in the database level too
    Please see:
    https://forums.oracle.com/message/9225094#9225094
    Do we need to write any trigger for this?
    Yes you may, But I personally suggest you not to do so as it may affect performance.
    Thanks &

    Don't use null layouts. Learn how to use layout managers.
    The basic design of your frame should be something like this:
    JPanel tablePanel = new JPanel( set your desired layout manager here );
    JScrollPane scrollPane = new JScrollPane( tablePanel );Now when you invoke your search code to create a new table the code will be something like:
    JTable table = new JTable(...);
    tablePanel.add( table );
    tablePanel.revalidate();The revalidate() will invoke the layout manager and the new preferred size of the panel will be calculated and then scrollbars will be added if required.
    The key is to use a layout manager and to revalidate the panel containing the tables.

  • How to get a scroll bar to scroll down as new elements are added

    I have a JPanel that displays a list of information. As new information is added to the bottom of the list, a scroll bar appears. I require the scroll bar to scroll down as the new elements are added so that the most recent one's are in view all the time. Any ideas on how to do this?
    Thanks

    before adding each component.
    get the scrollbar object
    store the
    ScrollBar sb = JFrame.getScrollBar();
    int cmax = scrollbar.getVisibleAmount();
    add component .....
    int nmax = scrollbar.getVisibleAmount();
    int diff = nmax - cmax;
    sb.setValue(sb.getValue() + diff);
    assuming you can get the scrollbar object from the
    JFrame, ContentPane of JScrollPane.

  • FAQ: How are notifications made when a server is added to a cluster?

    Hello,
              From the FAQ:
              Q: How are notifications made when a server is added to a cluster?
              A: The WebLogic Server cluster broadcasts the availability of a new
              server instance each time a new instance joins the cluster.
              Cluster-aware stubs also periodically update their list of available
              server instances.
              Does anybody know which interval is used for those Cluster-aware stubs?
              Regards,
              Merg

    that's incorrect. It is not periodic. Anytime the server comes up it uses
              multicast to advertise its availability as well as the services it
              provides. When all the announcements are through you can get Cluster-aware
              stubs from that server as well.
              Cheers,

  • How to measure an Area in Analysis Photoshop cc-14?

    How to measure an Area in Analysis Photoshop cc-14?
    PS's online help only mentions to use the Ruler to measure a straight.
    The are many of capabilities, but I cannot figure it out.
    I have searched all of Photoshop's tutorials, but Help is the best.
    All the online tutorials on show the rudiments of Analysis.
    Thank you for any info...

    In the help there I see

  • How are the .7z files used and installed for photoshop elements and premier elements?

    How are the .7z files used and installed for photoshop elements and premier elements?

    Hi,
    You can try to extract them to a folder and then try to install using the setup file.
    Or you can try to download the .exe file ( Small File ) for the software you have and then run the .exe file and it will start the installation. Both .exe and .7z file for the application should be in same location.
    Download Photoshop Elements products | 9, 8, 7
    Download Photoshop Elements products | 11, 10
    Download Premiere Elements products | 11, 10
    Download Premiere Elements products | 9
    *** You can either download the .exe file from the above download links or you can also download both .exe (File 2 of 2) and .7z (File 1 of 2) from the above links.

  • How to restore from an incremental backup when new datafiles are added

    1) Source - We have a base backup and then take differential (LEVEL 1) backups every day. Due to business needs, new datafiles keep added daily in the database. So you will see an incremental backup having new datafiles that got created after the LEVEL 0 backup.
    2) Destination - We want to restore this database in the destination host "continiously".
    a) I first restored from the BASE FULL - LEVEL 0 . This was successful (restored and recovered, but did not OPEN the database)
    b) But restoring a LEVEL 1 now on top of the already restored LEVEL 0 makes the restore start all over again if there are NEW DATAFILES added after the LEVEL 0 backup in the source database.
    This is not a problem when no new datafiles are added/modified between the "BASE" and "LEVEL 1" backup.
    So how do you "just restore only the new datafiles" instead of "starting from BASE LEVEL 0 restore" again " ?
    -Thanks
    Srini

    Hi Srini,
    So how do you "just restore only the new datafiles" instead of "starting from BASE LEVEL 0 restore" again " ?The recovery process after the restore should add the newly created datafiles on the destination host.
    Can you check by querying v$datafile in mount mode and post the output?
