How are songs with Chinese/Korean characters organized?

Hi! I listen to a lot of Chinese and Korean music, and I like to keep the original song names - in Chinese and Korean, with English translations in brackets beside it. They show up and all, but *can anyone tell me how exactly the songs are organized when there are foreign characters?*
I've looked over it, and can find no rhyme or reason with the main song list. D: I know it's not by pronunciation, or by artist, or by the English titles next to the characters. Every time I try to find a song, I basically have to keep scrolling until I find it.
Any help would be appreciated.

*can anyone tell me how exactly the songs are organized when there are foreign characters?*
It's possible that CJK characters are sorted by their order in the Unicode list, which can be seen in the Character Palette. I have never tested that however.

• Since upgrading to 10.8.5 some of the tracks in my library are listed in chinese/japanese characters..not English!

Since upgrading my macbook air (10.8.5) and ios7 a large number of tracks in my library are listed in chinese/japanese characters..not English! of the 670 tracks or so around 30% are now in another character set (far eastern), not English as they were. Same on my new iphone 5s.

Strangely enough the pref file did not show up in the Preferences folder. I don't know what this means but it could be signifigant.

go to this site - http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/
after it loads, change your language. (if it's needed, it might not be.) then look around for a good number for you to call.
you might also be able to go to the mac store and ask them. do you have a laptop or a desktop? if needed, would it be possible for you to take your desktop to the apple store? i know it's a pain, but it might be the easiest way.

• Whenever I try to access Google or Facebook I get a box with Chinese ? characters and another line of the same. ?

This is what I get:

The first line appears in a small yellow box with the other line in the body of the page. No other characters, although several of the characters are "highlighted" like they were a link

I am not a Vista user. I am assuming the icons have changed to a firefox icon because you or; some application or other user; have set the default option for those file types to open with firefox.
You will be able to change that in your registry settings but it is far safer to use some other option. I am not sure how to do that in Vista.
RealPlayer.exe is an executable file, that is it is an application presumably a media player, if you try to open it with firefox; whicjch is what happens if you click its firefox icon; it will just give you the options to open or save the file. If you use the open option it may work as intended.

• Where and how are songs backed up when u get a back up prompt?

After downloading several songs from the itunes store a message popped up with "Thank you for purchasing itunes songs, would you like to back up your purhased items?"
Where are they backed up to? My hard drive or do we get space on their server?

As Cander said, this backup option that is offered is only to burn a data CD/DVD. It is really important to have a regular backup program in place, especially for your purchases as store policy states that downloads can only be done once.

Does anyone know how songs are stored on the nano? For example, if I have a song in 2 playlists is it stored twice or is stored once and then there are pointers for that song to the playlist that it is in?

Thank you Chris. Just checked back and saw your answer. That's what I suspected but wasn't sure. Again, many thanks.

• 1.1.0.21 Sorting columns that are named with lower case characters not work

I'm trying to sort my results in the table's data tab. I have the colums defined as:
Help_ID, Help_Term, Help_Desc
Trying to sort by Help_ID fails. The application tries to sort by HELP_ID rather than "Help_ID". Quotation marks may need to be added have the proper functionality.

Although not a fix, I have found a work-around for people to use in the meantime. Using the filter field, I was able to sort the way I wanted (although not a very elligant method).
Filter: 1=1 ORDER BY "My_Column" ASC
I could not just put the ORDER BY clause in the filter field, but since I'm guessing that Oracle Developer is just building queries in the background, I tried to 'trick it' to take what I wanted.

• Korean Input Bug - Deleting Korean characters also removes characters in front of the cursor.

Hello.
I think I found a bug. I'm running the most recent version of Animate on OSX.9
When I am entering Korean letters (hangul) into Animate, and try to delete them, letters in front of the cursor also disappear.
This only happens if I try to delete a letter in a syllable that is currently being edited. Finished syllables don't have this problem. For example, if I want to type 한 but I type 해 by mistake and try to delete the ㅐ, the phenomenon occurs.
Thanks for the great program though!

Hello,
Here is how we resolved the problem.
SAP suggest that changing the Report Panel setting of Infoview from Java to HTML will fix the problem with the korean characters.
Login to Infoview > Preferences > Web Intelligence Document > Select a Report Panel: Query - HTML
- Login to Infoview
- Click on the Preferences button in the upper right corner
- Click on "Web Intelligence Document" tab
- In the "Select a Report Panel" section, select radio button for "Query - HTML"
- Click on Apply button, then OK.

you could try using a Java Mapping to change the encoding manually. For that, set the encoding of the OutputFormat of the XML you'll serialize. Try the following code piece for the mapping (inside a try/catch declaration):
DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
DocumentBuilder documentBuilder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
Document input = documentBuilder.parse(in);
OutputFormat format = new OutputFormat(XML, "ISO-8859-1", false);
XMLSerializer serializer = new XMLSerializer(out, format);

Disappointed with IOS7, i had organized my music library as per the Genre and now im unable to hear all the songs of the same genre like in the earlier versions. The options of "all albums" and "all songs" are missing in this version of IOS. Help Please..

It would be nice if you told others the steps you've tried and/or how you used to have your setup.
Anyway have you tried tapping MORE this will then bring you to
the selection-list of Audiobooks, Genres, Compilations & Composers.
Selecting Genres gives you a list of all your music split into genres which was set within the Music downloaded via iTunes or uploaded from CD or which you may have set yourself.
Then you just select the Genre you want:
If certent songs are not correctly gategorised you may need to go into iTunes and reselect via Get-info
>Info>Genre and change it there. That way you should end up with all songs of Jazz or other in 1 place.

• How to use a select statement with chinese characters?

I am currently developing a java servlet<using tomcat 4.x> which allows me to use select statement to retrieve results from the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database. I am using a simple form to get the parameter for querying. The main problem i'm facing is that there are chinese information in the SQL database, but i can't retrieve it through the sql statement with the chinese characters input<thru the form with the help of NJ STAR>in the WHERE condition. When i execute the statement, it returns me no results even though the rows are present in the database.
Does anyone have the solution to using chinese words in the WHERE clause of the select statement to retrieve results with columns which contains chinese characters? Please help me. Thanks everyone. :)
PS: when i cut and paste those characters in the sql database and paste onto java.. it is ??? in questionmarks.. but when i paste them into excel 2000.. its shown as chinese chars again..
please heelppp~~

Greetings,
PS: when i cut and paste those characters in thesql
database and paste onto java.. it is ??? in
questionmarks.. but when i paste them into excelThis is why the SELECT is not returning any results.
You need to set the character encoding set on your
statement and parameters for the characters to be
properly translated. Refer to the charsetName
parameter in the String class constructor in your API
docs and also to
$JDK_DOCS/guide/intl/encoding.doc.html in your JDK
documentation.
2000.. its shown as chinese chars again..Because Office programs are performing the same kind
of character translation with the appropriate MS APIs.

ok..
The thing is when i used an insert statement with chinese characters of GBK format hardcoded into the java servlet and then i use the insert statement to insert the chars into the database, it cannot be seen as a chinese word when i off the NJStar. and then it can be searched out with my current form of servlet.. below is my coding of the servlet..

• Encoding issue with Chinese and Japanese characters but not for Korean

Hi All,
I am dealing with the problem below and have tried a lot of options to correct this. Could anyone help me resolve the issue?
Some japanese text is returned to my jsp from SAP, the text looks like ‚P‚T“ú’÷“–ŒŽ––Œ»‹à .
When I manually set the encoding of my browser to Shift-JIS, the problem is resolved and the text is seen as １５日締当月末現金
However, I set my response.setContentType as Shift-JIS, the browser automatically selects the encoding as Shift-JIS, but my characters get displayed as ??????
I had a similar problem with Korean characters, and I used,
decodedString = new String(strToBeDecoded.getBytes("iso-8859-1"),"EUC-KR");
It worked and I did not have to use the setContentType method of servlet response. This code however does not work for either Japanese or Chinese characters.
Please let me know, if there is anyway of getting the characters right on the screen.
I am using Sun Java Application Server 8.1.
Thanks,
Priya

Get rid of legacy character encodings and just use UTF-8 all the way.
