How are the latest updates working???
Hi
Been away for a while and notice that my trusty Apple System Update is suggesting some changes to iDVD, iPhoto, iMovieHD and Quicktime. Last time I took the plunge blindfolded, my iLife was a disaster (summer 06...). How is the current suite working? I have another project to do. Should I upgrade? The suite from the last upgrade seems to be "happy".

If You have a working environment that works - why risk it ?
There has been some problems regarding iDVD 6.0.3 but if I understands it
right then this depends on miss matching with other programs eg. OS and QT.
So it seems as if OS is up to X.4.8 and QT to 7.1.3 it should work that said
if repair permissions has been run before + after updating.
Running repair hard disk (Apple disk util tool) from CD or ext hd from time to
another is also a good habit.

Are the latest updates inclusive of all earlier updates?
Since our workstations are not connected to any public networks for security reasons, it is necessary to rely upon the downloaded update programs to update software, as the Application Manager cannot connect to the Internet.
In browsing the downloadable updates, I note that there are several versions just for CS6 alone. Is it necessary to download every version and update one at a time in sequential order, or will downloading the latest version contain all earlier updates?Hi Mark,
No need to download in sequential order. Applying the latest patch will contain all earlier updates.

How does the latest update affect apple t.v.
I read specs on latest iTunes update and there was a mention of new wireless sharing of photos. Nothing looks different on apple tv-can anyone shed light on this?
Photo streaming is now a feature for the tv. Previously all you were able to do was sync photos from the primary source. If you have more than one itunes library registered with the tv you will now notice photos are available from all your sources. If you have only one itunes library registered to the tv then not a lot as changed except you will notice photos are now available both from the source 'tv" and "My itunes Library"

Why are the latest updates of AME and Premiere Pro CC 2014 only reading 4gb of ram?
I am running Windows 7 64 bit ultimate with 8gb of ram. The previous versions ripped through rendering, but I don't want to go back to revert back as i have been working with the new version now and the old one won't open the projects made by the new one. I also really like the new interface.
In task manager all adobe processes come up with *32.
How do I install the new versions as 64 bit?Take a look at your GPU usage with something like GPU-Z to see if both Premiere versions are using the same amount of MPE GPU hardware acceleration. Actually with CC 2014 it might work faster because Adobe added in more 4k effects/features for GPU acceleration.
You might want to download our Premiere Pro BenchMark (PPBM) and run it on both versions. The H.264 very complex timeline has 4K material in it and usually shows Premiere Pro 8.xxx take about only half the time that Premiere Pro CS6 take to export that same timeline. -

Try a reset: hold down the home button along with the power button until you see the Apple, then let go.

I see there is another ios update. I have an iPhone 4S. The last time I updated the ios I lost all my contacts, as I had not been using the iCloud as a backup. I am now apprehensive about the latest update. How can I determine if contacts are backed up?
You should never lose contacts under any circumstances.
Although contacts are included with the iPhone's backup, contacts are designed to be synced with a supported address book app on your computer where such important data should be available with or without an iPhone or any cell phone. Not a good idea to depend on a cell phone for such important data which can be lost or stolen or damaged beyond repair.
In addition, there are a number of free email accounts that support syncing contacts over the air including an iCloud account, Gmail, Yahoo, and Hotmail.
If you are not syncing contacts over the air with an iCloud account and not backing up your iPhone wirelessly with your iCloud account, your iPhone's backup is being updated by iTunes on your computer which is updated as the first step during the iTunes sync process.
With Windoze, contacts can be synced with Outlook 2003, 2007, or 2010 along with syncing calendar events, notes, and reminders, or with the address book app used by Outlook Express and by Windows Mail called Windows Contacts for syncing contacts only. With a Mac, contacts can be synced with the Address Book app. This is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
If the supported address book app on your computer is not used and has no contacts available, before the first sync for this data enter one contact in the supported address book app on your computer. This will provide a merge prompt with the first sync for this data, which you want to select. -
After the latest update my phone shows I have a new TXT Message and there are NO TXT messages. How do I fix this? I have tried clearing the cache, I have tried the factory reset, I have no 3rd party messaging apps and have done noting different with my phone that I have been doing the last 6 months.

I regret to learn of any issues after the software update. Let's check some things out on your phone! Does the text message say who it came from? Is it a contact you message on a regular basis? Are you using the messaging application that came with the device, or a 3rd party application?
I recommend deleting any unneeded messaging threads and then powering the device off/on. Keep me posted!

Don't bother trying to get Airplay to work even if you have all the latest updates etc..if your computer is a MacBook Pro 2008 or earlier..The Apple staff have decided they are too old and not worth supporting...
AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, OS X 10.8 or better and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer). It also requires the computer to be using wi-fi.

I can't connect to the internet on Safari or read my email after the latest update to iOS 7.0.2, is there a new fix coming or is there someting I can do beyond restarting my iPad and iPhone?

I don't really understand your comment about "sing of tubes in RED which is wired". But if you are referring to the display of iTunes and the USB port that is an indication that you must restore your iPhone by connecting it to your computer via USB and then using iTunes on the computer to restore it. -
How can I know about the latest updates / versions which when available for all the CC products, without having to install and check it with the Desktoip Creative Cloud Application ?

I work with an Inventory module software and is responsible for software detection across several computers. Once an updated version comes up, I update our database with latest software details to get it detected if installed on any machines.
The problem tracking updates with Desktop Creative Cloud Software are;
1)We have to have it installed with the CC applications in-order to get the notification of the latest updates and have to check everyday.
2)Only relates to the latest updates, so in-between we may miss a prior update unknowingly.Hence, the remote machines having those updates may not get detected with the software version update which would create problem in reporting.
3)For all CC products, there is no base or previous updates available for installation if we miss one.
I went through the Adobe Products Update pages [Product updates] which holds good when it comes to Acrobat and Reader software which I follow to track down any newer updates but this is inconsistent when it comes to CC products like in After Effects CC, Dreamweaver CC etc...
So overall to be very specific, is there any one channel I can follow to get the notifications only for the updates on CC products and then may be I can rely on Desktop Creative Cloud for installation if not available anywhere like in product update pages of Adobe ?

Are you connecting via wifi? if so try an eithernet cable as I have found on windows 8 running the adobe manager will disconnect the broadband modem from the internet and requires rebooting the modem. But a direct cable to the modem works just fine.

YOU ARE IN RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
3. Repeat the process if necessary.
