How are Xcelsius dashboards delivered to users?

Hi,
How do users access the xcelsius dashboards if the SAP portal is not installed? and if there exists sap connections for the dashboards, which have to display the live sap bw data? especially if they are connected versions of the sap xcelsius dashboards which have to display the live SAP BW data.
Thanks in advance,
sandy.

Thanks Roland, but pls throw some more light...
> If you use the direct SAP BW connector you need to publish the dashboard on a SAP Portal at the moment.
1.The client is not ready to go in for the portal implementation at this moment, so what would be the alternative?
> If you use Business Objects connectivity you can publish the dashboard to the Business Objects Infoview
2. But xcelsius is separate tool than the BO enterprise XI isn't it? or what all the tools we need in this scenario? Is it not possible to publish the xcelsius models in pdf or ppt? if yes then will the sap bw live data can be displayed? or else can they be accessed using company intranet web page as well?

  • How are xMII services delivered?

We are looking into the possibility of using xMII to either replace or enhance an existing ASP.NET, C#-based application, which is used to report and display manufacturing data stored in SAP and in standalone Oracle databases (these are populated by VB applications written by the engineers in manufacturing).
I have installed a trial version of xMII, and I can see that it allows data connectivity to both Oracle and SAP, and it appears that I can connect our data to Applets.
How do most sites deliver these services to their users?    For example, assume I have built a page that contains an applet that displays some data.   How do I deliver that page to my users?   My first impression is (because I am an ASP.NET guy) that the easiest thing for me to do would be to use ASP.NET as a front-end to structure the application and to deliver pages to the users, and to make use of xMII as a place to get the Applets and data that will be provided, but I suspect that I am suffering from a brain cramp, and that there is a better way.

    Hi Ryan,
we deliver xMII report and dashboards the "standard" way - as irpt pages. IRPT files are basically plain HTML files which are interpreted by a IIS plugin on the xMII server. This plug-in enables some extra functionality, such as creating and referencing tokens (e.g. session variables, name of the logged-in user, etc.) using braces (e.g. will be interpreted by the ServletExec-xMII service and is rendered as HTML text).
IRPTs support xMII applets and all other HTML features. Using them, you can build fairly simple web pages which rely on JavaScript for interactivity. However, IRPTs have another interesting feature. xMII objects (charts, tables, etc.) can be rendered as images or HTML tables using out-of-the-box transformations. This is done using HTML-like <servlet> tags inside your IRPT page. The ServletExec-xMII service parses them and replaces these elements with HTML tables, images, etc as applicable. For more info on this, have a look at the xMII help under Advanced Topics > Reports
However, since the ServletExec service which processes the IRPT pages is also capable of interpreting JSP pages, you can do some server-side processing similar to ASP.Net. I don't think this is "officially" supported by SAP, but we use it in a very cases where it makes sense to do so. xMII comes with some custom classes which you can use - they are not documented, but you can get quite a bit of info from the pages which form the xMII Portal (i.e. the security manager and the main menu). They are somewhat hidden in C:\ServletExec AS\se-xMII\webapps\default\Lighthammer (the "user" portal where you access Data Servers, Query Templates, etc.) and C:\ServletExec AS\se-xMII\webapps\default\LHSecurity (the security manager)
Hope this helps. Good luck with exploring xMII!

  • Best practice to implement different Xcelsius dashboard for different users

I'm implementing an Xcelsius dashboard that requires to show each individual user with different content (e.g. When a user logins in, the dashboard shows her name and job title, her performance and her subordinate's performance).  I'm just wondering what's the best practice to implement scenario like this?  Thanks.

    Hi Thomas
What you are looking at is "Row Level Security" within BusinessObjects and the options you have are determined by what type of data you are reporting off of (relational data, OLAP data, BW data, etc.)
For instance, if you are using relational data with a Universe you could setup a database table with the BusinessObjects username to correspond with their e-mail address or other unique identifier. From there, you could add security to your universe using the @variable('BOUSER')
That way, any objects created off of the universe (whether it is a Crystal Report, Web Intelligence, BI Web Service, QaaWS, LiveOffice, etc.) will filter the data based on this security model. So any Xcelsius dashboard based on this underlying data will also be filtered.
And that is just one of the options you have, depending on your data source.

  • How to share dashboards to other users?

    Dear All,
I have a created dashboards in My Folders.
Now i need to share dashboards to other users with read only.
    How can i do it?
Please share some tutorial or advice.
    BR,
    Eba

    Hi,
This is really bad idea but I will provide solution for you.
Give me user permission like administrator means (whom want to access those dashboards give me permission like administrator).
ex: Administrator can able to see all dashboard right-- same way you can asign permission like administrator.
Create user in your rpd and select group Administrator. then try to login answer he can see all the dashboards.
    Method :-2
Using Catalog Manager go to the user folder you want to share and change the ownership recursively to the account you are logged on Catalog Manager with. Then change and cascade the permissions recursively to add the other user/group that wants to see the user's dashboard. After doing that you will be able to reference the user's dashboard with a URL like this one (assuming the dashboard the page is named page 1 as per the default user's dashboard):
    /analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard;PortalPath=/users/user/_portal&Page=page%201&Action=Navigate

  • How are Optimization Settings shared between users?

How can I export the saved Settings I have created for Optimization so others can use them?

You may have to poke around the files Acrobat creates to find them (I don't think Adobe documents this). I created a custom setting in the PDF Optimizer dialog.
I found it on my Mac in this path:
Users > [my user name] > Library > Application Support > Adobe > Acrobat > 10.0 [because I was using Acrobat X] > PDF Optimizer.
    My file was called "Test.optimize"

  • How to use multiple connections for xcelsius dashboard via toggle button

Can anyone shed some light on how to apply a toggle button for multiple connections using xcelsius dashboard.
I created two SAP connections in my xcelsius dashboard.  The first connection uses query 1 (bottom ten customers) and the second connection uses query 2 (top ten customers).  I wanted to use a toggle button where the user would click Top Ten customers versus Bottom Ten customers.  Which ever the user clicks in the toggle botton would run that query.
If the toggle button is not the way to handle this can someone explain a better approach to run either query in the same dashboard.
    Thanks,
    Joe

    Hi,
I've never had to do this so have no practical experience.  However in theory you should be able to do the following (assuming the data connection type youu2019re using has the "Usage" tab):
Set up the two connections as normal - On the usage tab set the detail query to Refresh before components are loaded and make sure that this is unchecked for the other query.  Set both queries to populate the same range so that one query will overwrite the other in the Xcelsius spreadsheet.
    Bind a toggle button to a cell e.g. A1
Back to the data connections again and set the "Refresh on trigger" trigger cell to A1.  And set the "When Value Becomes" to either "On" or "Off" dependent on how you've set up the toggle button.  Repeat for the other query.
    Hope this helps,
    Paul

  • How to export Xcelsius Dashboard to Iphone roambi application

How to export Xcelsius Dashboard to Iphone roambi application.
what are prerequisites, Process need to do before exporting dashboard.

    Hi,
iPhone doesn't support flash application with firmware 2.2.1, I don't know if it will work with firmware 3.0, and xcelsius shows the dahsboard as flash.
So I think you should find a program to view flash in iPhone.
    Kind regards.

  • How to configure SharePoint HNSC with a reverse proxy server so that HNSC Share Point URLs are not exposed to end users.

Could you please let me know how SharePoint HNSC can be configured with a reverse proxy server so that HNSC Share Point URLs are not exposed to end users.
In normal path based site collections/web applications, reverse proxy configuration can be done using alternate access mappings with  Public URL = "proxy URL", internal = "HNSC Share Point URL" so that share point sends response back
to Public URL = "proxy URL".
In Host Named Site Collections,  alternate access mappings  are not supported. Each HNSC is designed to have only one URL in each zone. Zone is one of the five zones(Default,Intranet,Internet,Custom,Extranet) with each of which only one alternate
URL is associated.  This is what we are able to get using power shell command "Set-SPSiteUrl", but this will not help us to get the response back to proxy URL after a request sent to share point because we could not find any mechanism in share
point HNSC to respond  to a different URL(proxy URL). Consequently, Share Point URLs are exposed to  external users.
Below share point article in MSDN blog is symmetrical to what we are observing with Share Point 2013 and Proxy Server. It mentions that internal HNSC URLs can’t be hidden using any proxy server. If  hiding the internal Share Point URLS is a requirement,
it suggests to use a web application instead of host named site collections.
Though I’m also observing the same behavior with Share Point 2013 HNSC, Could you please confirm my understanding is correct.
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/kaevans/archive/2012/03/27/what-every-sharepoint-admin-needs-to-know-about-host-named-site-collections.aspx
    Excerpt from above article-
"Host Named Site Collections Only Use One Host Name
Continuing on the discussion on AAMs and host named site collections, you cannot use multiple host names to address a site collection in SharePoint 2010. Because host-named site collections have a single URL, they do not support alternate access mappings and
are always considered to be in the Default zone.  This is important if you are using a reverse proxy to provide access to external users. Products like Unified Access Gateway 2010 allow external users to authenticate to your gateway and access a site
as http://uag.sharepoint.com and forward the call to http://portal.sharepoint.com. Remember that URL rewriting is not permitted. Further, a site collection can only respond to one host name. This means if you are using a reverse proxy, it must forward the
calls to the same URL.  If your networking team has a policy against exposing internal URLs externally, you must instead use web applications and extend the web application using an alternate access mapping."<u5:p></u5:p>

    Hi Satish,
You are right that only one URL is allowed for each zone of the host-name site collections in both SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint 2013.
It is by design that each host-name site collection only support one URL for each zone.
The article below is about RTM version of SharePoint, and it is the same for SharePoint 2013 with the latest CU.
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2826457
So to make the URL of HNSC not exposed to external users is not supported, you need to use path-based sites instead.
    Best regards.
    Thanks

we have a long list of disabled/deleted users in AD
Somehow, they are still appeared as active user in Sharepoint Online.
How do we get rid of those list?
    Hope you can advice. Thanks.

SharePoint does not remove users from SharePoint permissions just because they were deleted/disabled in AD. This is to maintain referential integrity. In fact, when you delete a user from SharePoint, that user remains in the SharePoint content database,
    just marked as deleted.
They do not have access to SharePoint given their account is deleted/disabled. But as far as automatically managing this, I'm not aware of a tool. On-prem there is Metalogix ControlPoint which does a great job of this, I haven't explored the O365 options.

  • Exchange Server 2013: incoming messages are not delivered into user mailboxes occasionally

Exchange Server 2013 CU1, two mailbox servers (DAG, only one mail database), two CAS servers (NLB cluster). Two Sendmail/CentOS-based SMTP relays route mail between Exchange servers and Internet (incoming mail is routed to NLB cluster name).
Usually mail flow is OK: messages are sent and received normally. However, I've got several complains from different users. They state that occasionally they don't receive messages that were sent to them from outside. Tomorrow morning I've decided to
    investigate the issue.
So, we have a message sent from Gmail account that was not delivered in user mailbox. It was received and routed to Exchange by Sendmail host:
    Jun 27 22:06:37 MX01 sendmail[12169]: r5RG6HC8012166: to=<USER_ADDRESS>, delay=00:00:19, xdelay=00:00:19, mailer=smtp, pri=124702, relay=NLB-FQDN [NLB-IP], dsn=2.0.0, stat=Sent (<CAHgK_sjEkj41htuVsutMP3XhgR5RRDs8-EgSC-UfHoaiHWFj=A@mail.gmail.com>
    [InternalId=13069585481819] Queued mail for delivery)
Running Get-MessageTrackingLog applet on the mailbox servers displayed the followed log entries for the message:
    DB Server #1:
        22:11:18 HAREDIRECT
        22:11:18 RECEIVE
        22:11:18 AGENTINFO
    DB Server #2:
        22:11:18 HARECEIVE
        22:12:44 HADISCARD
So, we can see that the message was placed into shadow queues, but was NOT delivered into mailbox (no DELIVER status entries). Also pay attention to the timing. Time on all the servers is in sync, but Sendmail timestamp is 22:06, and Exchange timestamps
    are 5 minutes behind it.
Today a message sent to the same address from the same Google mailbox was received by Exchange and placed into user mailbox with no glitches.
We use Exchange antispam system activated on Exchange mailbox servers. Spam is never dropped silently. It is either returned to sender (SCL 9) or placed into quarantine mailbox (SCL 6 and above). I'm pretty sure that the lost message was not in the quarantine
mailbox this morning, and the sender didn't receive any NDRs.
Any ideas what to investigate next?

    Hi,
Do you mean the emails are placed in the Shadow Redundancy queue?

  • How to keep track of the users who are all currently logged in

    Hi All,
I have basic knowledge of Session and Servlets. I am wondering how to keep track of the users who are all currently logged in. There should be some way of achieving it.
I thought of it and come up with having an Application variable that hold it when ever a user successfully logged in.
Thanks in advance for any reply.

You can do this by keeping data in a static veriable in a some class of yours. The variable will need to be a collection.
Whenever a user loogs in to the site a servlet/jsp should put the users information in to the collection and when logs off or when the session expires the entry should be take off.
You can achive this by storing the velues in a some sort of a week collection where the entries are automaticaly removed when all the other refferences to the entry goes out of scope.
You might need to read bit about java.lang.ref package and WeekReference
Or you can make the entry in the collection contain the last time that the user visited any of the pages and a thread can run time to time and clean up the older entries which have timed out

  • HT201365 I work for a company and when we have users terminated they return their phones and we do not know the passcord or apple id for them how are we suppose to wipe a device?

We terminate user and we sometimes like to remote wipe or get back a phone that is locked by a passcode we do not know what it is? So how are we suppose to be able to wipe the devices. The users setup their own apple accounts so we never know which email or password are either? so how are we suppose to remotely wipe or wipe device to be able to reuse?

I am in the same situation, trying to figure out the most elegant way of recovering company iPhone assets that are returned to me.  It won't help for anyone already set up under an existing Apple ID, but here is what we're doing, moving forward:  All AppleID accounts must be set up under the user's work email address.  This way, when John Smith leaves our company, I can have our email admins reset his work email password.  I then go to the Apple ID link, ask Apple to reset that user's work AppleID password through Email authentication, and that auto-email is sent to the mailbox that I now have control of.  I click the "reset" link in the email, and proceed from there.  Not the smoothest process, but it will hopefully work.
