  • How can i delete an event on ical without notifying

    Hello
how can i delete an event on ical without notifying. All I want to do is delete the event and not notify anyone.
    Thanks

I was just experiencing this problem on Mountain Lion. The calendar I wanted to delete was on iCloud. So, I logged into iCloud from a web browser, and selected Calendar. On the current incarnation of iCloud Calendar the calendars are listed on the left. I selected the "Edit" link at the top of that list and chose delete. It indicated that the items would be deleted, but there was nothing about notifications. Then, when I went back to iCal on my Mac, I selected the calendar to be deleted, right clicked, and slected refresh...
    ... gone.
It probably would have disappeared on it's own eventually. I'd be curious to see if theis works for others, so please confirm.
    Good luck.

  • How do I delete an event on ical when there's no edit option, it reads details?

I'm trying to delete an event in iCal on my iPad but where it usually reads edit it reads details and in details theirs no delete option. How can I delete this event?

Is it an event that you added?

  • How do I email an event from iCal on the iPad?

Hi, how do I email an event to someone from the iCal app on the iPad? Does it populate in an email?
    Thank you,
    Chris

Actually, the Invitations button is for incoming invitations.  You send an invitation with the "Invitees" button in the Add Event screen.  In any event, I never set up these buttons and I never consciously linked iCal to any email package but I have both of them.  For some reason, they're missing from the OP's calendar.
The only thing that I can think of is that I do use MobileMe email (soon to be iCloud email). Note to rbrylawski and Clowndz - do you use MobileMe email?

  • How do you delete an event in iCal?

I have an iPad 2 and I cannot delete events from iCal.
Does anyone know how to do this?
iPad 2 seems very unstable after the latest software update on 9 May 2011.

Click on the event, and use the delete key. Or click on the event, and choose iCal>Edit>Delete.
    Good luck.

  • How to set up reoccurring events in ical

how do you set up reoccurring events in ical?

Read this entry from the iCal help menu under "recur": http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iCal/4.0/en/9865.html

  • How do I select multiple events in iCal 8.0?

In OSX Mavericks, I used to be able to select multiple events in iCal in the event list view. I could select the initial event in the span of events to be selected. Then hold Shift while selecting the final even in the span of events. As a result, all of the events in that span would be selected.
in OSX Yosemite, this is no longer possible. There appears to be no list view, and holding the Shift button does not allow me to select a span of events.
What is the best way to select a span of events, say as much as 30 events?
    Thank you.

  • Can you preview an event in Ical, using Lion, by moving your mouse over the event?

I have been trying to fougure out to problems in Ical, using Lion.  There does not seem to be anyway to preview an event accept by double clicing the event.  I also do not understand why there is not a drop down menu to choose the month of a new event or when you change an event.  I hope there is a way to change to a drop menu for the month, it is such a waste time to have to type the date in every time.  Any suggestions?

The only problem is, that I can't move my mouse to the location I want. I heard you could use the Robot class for this, but it didn't work out as I wanted -I guess I screwed the code up-. So I'd like to know how I'm able to move my mouse, left click and right click, all at custom locations, given using JOptionPane. Could someone please write an easy example of all those things?Well, Robot is meant to generate mouse moves, mouse clicks, and key types, but consider this:
    - if you need this to implement a feature of an application, I find this suspicious (except if you are developing a tutorial feature such as "Help/Show me how to...").
    - if you need this to test an application, you'd better use a higher-level API, such as jfcUnit or Fest-Swing (tons of other exist), that enables you to simulate actions (and check results!) in higher-level terms, such as "click on this button" and "check this label is green" instead of "click at that position x,y", and "peek the pixel color").
    Good luck,
    J.

  • How do I reinstall Address Book and iCal in Lion?

Title says it all. I deleted iCal and Address Book long ago with AppZapper. Now that I have an iPhone, I actually have need of those apps. Problem is, I have Lion, and thus do not have an install disk. How would I go about reinstalling those apps in Lion?

Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Can't add all-day events in iCal w/Lion

After Lion 10.7.1 upgrade, I can add an all-day event in iCal on my MacBook but not on my MacBook Air.  On the Air an event added with no time just does not appear.  On the Air an event added with a time appears, but editing the event and checking the "all-day" box causes the event to disappear.

    >>Who'd have thought this was optional?
Again... S. Jobs apparently thinks its optional.
         Devolution...like many things in Lion.

  • Can't Attach Files to Delegate Events on iCal Server

There might be a bug in the iCal Service:
Attempting to attach a file to an event in a delegate calendar using iCal 4.0.4 client for Mac generates an error:
"The server responded with an error.
Access to “Event” in “calendar” in account “First Last” is not permitted.
    The server responded:
    “HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden”
    to operation CalDAVSetDropBoxAclQueueableOperation.
[Button:] Go offline; [Button:] Revert to Server"
The item might appear to be attached to the event afterwards, even if you chose 'revert to server', but eventually the calendar will refresh without the attachment. We have been able to recreate this behavior on multiple clients.
Anyone know how to resolve this? Thanks.

I am having the same problem. The only thing I have found that consistently works is to click rapidly (I use a usb mouse). It isn't the most technical approach but it does the trick.  Hopefully the issue will be resolved for good in the near future.
I am using Safari 6.0.2 and Mac OS X 10.8.2
    Regards,
    Josh

  • How can I move an event in ical to another calendar without ical resending the event invite to everyone

I have 2 microsoft exchange calendars that I use for work. One is provided by my company, the other is provided by a customer that I do contract work for. The customer prefers to send invites to my email address provided to me by them. Which means that the invite appears on the exchange calendar provided to me by the customer.
That's fine, but I would like for the event to appear on my work calendar so that I can get reminders on my iphone (long story short, the customer does not allow me to connect to their exchange server via my iphone due to security reasons).
So, I go into iCal, open the event and change the calendar for the event. Unfortunately, that causes iCal to resend the invite to everyone involved in the event. This causes alot of confusion, obviously, as now everyone is wanting to know why I sent an invite for an event that is already scheduled.
How can I move events to another calendar without iCal sending another invite to everyone?

If you change anything in a repeating calendar entry it will give you the option of disconnecting it from the series. So may any random change, choose to not change the series.
