Hi All,
I need to deploy lot of VM via one VM ,i need to use the newsid with change the computer name like VM name.
i want to script this by geting the VM name and send it to newsid to change the computer name.
there is a way to get the VM name from running guest or host.

i can't use template since i have check point on that VM.
i have one vm called goldenimage load to lib and i have to deploy 8 vm per one host,i must use newsid before i connect that guest machine to network domain,so i what to add to runone registery some script that run the newsid in first time but for each vm am i need to change the computer name according to vm name.
if the vm name is XPPro-xx-yy(xx-host name yy-vm num) i want that will be also the name of computer name.

I need to change the computer name but after this I cannot access to the historical data (printing alarms).
I have already changed the settings in Options->System and restarted the system.
With MAX 3.0 I can see that all the alarm records are stored with the old computer name \\computer name\process\....
How can I do to read the old alarms with the new computer name?

Hi,
When you change the computer name in Options>>System, you are not changing the name of the computer. Rather, you are telling Lookout to log to either a remote or local system. Here are the specifics:
1. Computer Name: Name you want the traces to appear with (\\computer_name\process\...)
2. Default Computer: Computer you want to log to. If the name listed here is different than your computer's name (as seen by Windows), then it will attempt to log directly to that remote machine.
3. Default Path: Directory on either your local or remote machine that you want to log to.
To change the name of your local computer, you will need to do that in Windows. If you have WinXP, you can do this by right-clicking on My Computer and selecting Computer Name.

Whenever we click on new query button, Sql server automatically opens a new query with default name SQLQuery1.sql.
Can I change this default name? What I mean to say is I have to work with quite a number of databases on different servers. So I open multiple queries on different server. So I was finding a way where whenever I click on
New Query button it inherits servername or database name (e.g If I have database name like ABCD new query name should look like ABCDquery.sql ?)
So that I can distinguish which query belong to which Database?

You would need a DNS server on your network configured to answer authoritatively for that particular subdomain.

I can do this with my pc, but my dad only sync's with the cloud & I can't find how to sort showing the company name, ie APPLE instead of John Doe & can't see that he works for Apple unless you select the contact.

That isn't supported on an iPhone. There may be apps that would do this, but not the built-in contacts app. You could, of course, create contact groups on icloud.com for major companies and add the appropriate contacts to these groups, and these groups would sync to your device.

it is not possible after installing R/3, you cannot change the host name , as per my understanding because when you install it generates a solution manager key based on host name SID and instance number.

If I'm not wrong I saw something about this here (SDN), in a technical article about how to create a JDBC iView . I tried to get the link to the article but it seems there's a problem with the site, sorry...
By the way, I had the same problem, and according to the article this was not possible in the version EP6 SP2 but there was a plan to implement this in newer versions. I tried also to use a SQL command with the column names I wish to display but it didn't work either.
Try to find this article in the EP Technical Article to confirm this info, ok ?
