Hope im not to far out of forum here.
I recently purchased an ipod shuffle.During the shuffle every thing got misplaced the instructions and whatever other software that would have been with it.So i have the i pod itself the earphones and lanyard anf thats it.If someone woulod have any suggestions i would be thankfull and even more thankfull for not bouncing me for being in the wrong forum.Will i be able to even use it or not.The wifes not getting outta throw this away!

You needn't worry too much. You'll need the iPod Software, which you'll use to set up the shuffle. You'll also want to download iTunes, Apple's music management software, if you don't have it yet. Finally, if you want to read up on the shuffle, the iPod Shuffle manual is online too, as well as lots of other information.

I called BT around mid May. I informed them i was going to move to a new flat in NW2 in June. I told them the flat is being completely renovated and that i wanted to get a phone line. The BT employee on the phone did some checks and confirmed to me there was no active line (which i already knew: i said the flat was being completely renovated). He said i needed to book for a BT engineer to come, that there would be a cost and that i would need to take another 12 months contract. He also said he would cover for the engineer cost if i tenew my broadband with BT for another 12 months. I was reluctant to take another 12 months contract with BT for phone line and broadband because the fiber optic broadband i have been having with BT for the past 15 months was awful (regularly dropped, very slow speed at random times, more than once a week every week for 15 months). But in the end i accepted the offer, agreed to renew Line and brodaband with BT for another 12 months and booked for the BT engineer to come on 12th june. And that's when the nightmare started.
On 11th june, BT called. They lefta voicemail i could hardly understand then sent a weird sms: "Hello, SHREYA here. I have tried to speak with you today however, couldn't make a contact over the phone. please text back (at your normal rate) and we'll get back to you within 2 hours. We check messages from 8am ? 8.30pm Mon-Fri or 9am-6pm Sat." I had no clue who SHREYA was, considering they didn't even specify which company they work for. But after googling the number on the sms, i found out it was from BT. So i called BT and spoke to an employee who started to confuse me about "system issues". I was wondering "what do system issues have to do with me?"... The BT employee told me her manager would call me back. When the manager called me, he was even more confusing. At the end i asked him only 1 question "is the BT engineer coming on 12 june to set up the Bt line?". He replied "yes, between 07:00 and 13:00".
On 12 june, because i hadn't received any sms from Bt confirming the time window when the engineer is coming, i called Bt at 10:00. The Bt employee then told me "oh, it's cancelled". I then became very unhappy. I asked "why?". The Bt employee put me on hold and after 5 mun, hung up on me. I called Bt again, spoke to another few people from Bt but nobody was able to tell me why the appointment i booked 3 weeks earlier was cancelled. I was furious: i accepted to take another 12 months contract with Bt for line and broadband and this is how they deal with it.... I logged a complaint on the Bt website. I was told that a case manager would be appointed to help me and i spoke to that case manager today but so far i have had zero meaningful updates as to when the line will be set up. All she told me today is that a new order needs to be logged because there was an internal problem with the one logged 4 weeks ago. She even saud it will be logged tomorrow. I asked "why ligging it tomorrow? Why not today considering i have already been waiting for 4 weeks?" I got no replies to that question...
4 weeks wasted already, not sure how many more to come, and no commitments as to when i can expect the service. As if moving hoone was not streeful enough, i have to deal with a company like Bt. I have to chase them every single day to get an update, this is so stressful. What a poor level of service.

I have 2 lines into my house. One with BT and one with Virgin Media. I placed an order with Bt to take over the Virgin Media line. So BT cancelled my existing BT line which was working perfectly and transferred the Virgin Media line onto the BT line they just cancelled. Then no broadband and no phone. I was told there was a fault on the line! There wasn't before they cancelled the line. I was told it had been fixed, I was told it hadn't been, I was told I would have phone and broadband in 24 hrs. I didn't. I was then told there was still a fault on the line despite an engineer stating unequivocally that there was no fault. I explained to BT that my son has severe learning disabilities and epilepsy and that he stops breathing when he has a seizure and we have to be able to call medics. BT told me to use my mobile phone and that he would not be regarded as a priority case!.
After another 2 hours on the phone to them today I am told that they have to put in new cables (what was wrong with the existing ones?) and that I might have phone line and broadband by June 26 - 10 days after they were just sopposed to take over a working phone line.
One would have thought that a telephone company would be able to take over a phone line - just a stretch too far for BT administration.
The Openreach engineers were very helpful and took extra time to speak to BT when at my house but to no avail.

if bugs continue or you did them several times, can they become really bad, cant hey spread, and can they mes upp your ipod.

Stolen iPhone - How bad can it get?

Hi,
Unfortunately I had my iPhone stolen yesterday, is there anyway Apple can remotely wipe the phone without using something like 'Find my iPhone'? I had switched this off at the weekend to save battery life while I was out and forgot to re-enable.
The phone has been blocked by the carrier and it had a passcode. However, if someone plugs the phone it iTunes, what information can they access?

Whilst I fully agree that they are not the police, I would have thought it would be in their interest to provide a service to their customers that helps them in the event that a device is stolen. Obviously if I'd switched 'Find my iPhone' back on, I'd have been in a better position to erase the device, etc, which in hindsight is my own fault.
For example, it would be nice if Apple was able to deny access to iTunes via the device, by 'blacklisting' the Serial Number. It would then be the responsibility of the 'new' owner to prove that the device was purchased legally before it could be used with iTunes. I just don't want the thieving gits to get any use from the device.
Having just ordered my replacement, I'll be checking every available security feature is enabled including 'Find My iPhone'. As they say, "You live and learn"..although it's been a very expensive lesson!!!!!

How you can solve a problem or find out on a dead pc if the problem relies on motherboard and not on processor or vice versa

I am working myself with computers , so there is one thing in my mind I wanted to be sure,which I couldn't find an answer for it!
because I had before totally black screen and the problem was damaged processor.
I am wondering how I can be sure as the last option when I get a black screen and there is no lihgts at all no any LED is lighting.totally dead pc.
how you can be sure then that the problem relies on processor and not on motherboard or vice versa the problem relies on motherboard and not on processor
because I can't say to the customer lets buy first a processor if it is the cause of dead PC and if not then we buy motherboard. this sounds not wise.
so I experimented first with my latop ,I pulled out the processor to see if I can see any LED light or any movement on the motherboard to be sure that motherboard giving me some clue that it is healty. I gave some light heat to de fan to let it turn ,because
it is working with heat sensors then I know that the motherboard is healty. but it didn't work.
I did the same with my desktop computer and the result is the same no any lights and no any movement on the motherboard . so now can some one tell me how you can distuingish as a last result which of this 2 components is causing dead PC. is there any
tool to test the motherboard or how asus,dell ect. they solve such a problem if the customer send to them a dead pc.
I know that the power supply also can cause dead pc but I know how to solve a problem with dead power supply. and I want to keep away power supply from this question. please do not tell me that Idon't have to pull out processor
because I am a technician and both of my computers are doing very good after this experiment.

So if its bad memory, not place properly, mismatched, processor not inserted properly, mismatched voltage or voltage connector not present etc it beeps or generates the error id.
Power supplies can be tested for failure. There are some walk throughs for testing just them with a switch, paperclip or a jumper (I'd suggest not doing this if you are not familiar with the dangers of electricity).
Memory can be tested with memory diagnostics programs like Memtest+
Processors can overheat if the proper precautions have not been taken usually you will get a POST beep or error code for that.
If the motherboard has no response then do the basics first:
Check power connectors and power supply. Once you determine that is not the case move on to other items like graphics cards in all the way or memory.

I can´t send my videos fom my PC to my Ipad because the videos are in the .MP4 format and not in the .mp4, is there other types of .mp4 and then how I can send my videos to my Ipad?

I have a problem with my videos, well first of all I took videos with a camera for my school proyects and then I want to send those videos to my Ipad but there is a problem because when I tried to send my videos it said that those videos could not be synced and then I checked the video´s properties and it says that the format of those videos are .MP4 instead of the .mp4 format and i want to ask the community if there are other types of .mp4 formats and how I can send my videos?
Please reply because I really need those videos for my school proyect.

I accidentally imported files into wrong folder. How I can undo this using LR? Deleting these files manually using OS command results is un-predictable results.

The quickest thing would be to just drag-and-drop the bad folder into the correct place in LR Library’s folder structure. You might need to rename the folder if you also named it wrong.
If the photos only exist on the hard-drive and are not on the camera-memory card anymore, then you also probably want to drag-and-drop the photos from one location to another, using LR Library’s folder panel.
If the photos are still on your camera card as well as on the hard-drive in the wrong location then you also have the option to reimport from the card, which will take longer, of course. To do this you’ll first want to remove what was imported into LR in the wrong location using the LR Library folder panel and right-click Remove/Delete-from-Disk. After this your LR will be in a state just before you did the import and you can do the import again.

Moreover can any body plz tell me that how one can modify the funtionality of a control by him self (not selecting the available functionalities of controls and indicators)

I would suggest that this is probably a bad idea, though. If there are no statistics on an object,
you're basically asking the CBO to work blind. Why not gather statistics after loading a fresh set of data
into the table?
I am running stats once a week , so i cannnot gather fresh set of dataNicolas
setting stats to a given value and lock them (to be not set to 0 by any gather stat process) may help as well.

through sqlldr i load a data to temp table , i have a after insert trigger
once the data insert into temp table it check for some condition and
fire this trigger and insert into Permanent Table,
After the process finished the temp table truncated.
this whole process running every day .
I already mention stats are collected once a week , no point i keep the stats
for this temp table and suppose if i keep , it will give wong execution plan
and insert into this temp tabel will be slow -- am i right in this step
This is the reason i dont want stats at all in temp table
