After working as a SAP SD consultant,I realized a need for training SAP aspirants.But,focused only on a few SAP end users locally in Hyd, as the jargon
and concepts were best suited for end users who work on live data ! Today with 10+ yrs SAP recruiting experience, I wish to address this national demand (in India firstly) by locating near the end users community / location ( North India).
I am open to valuable suggestions / inputs related to training content ex: ASAP methodology ?

Hi Desh,
There are lot of documents available in SAP Service Marketplace if you have S user id. If you have already done a certification or working for implementation partner then you get this S user id to login into SAP Service Marketplace.
SAP ASAP methodology comes with SAP Solution Manager, so you can check through SAP Solution Manager this ASAP methodology.
In India, All CMMI level companies have their own delivery methodologies as per my knowledge, so 90% of the time they won't adopt SAP ASAP methodology... Either they go with Client methodology or sell their own implementation or support methodologies or different framework.
At the outset, it is not mandatory to have this but if you have knowlege in delivery methodology framework like Waterfall, Scrum, Agile that would be added advantage.

I am able to send HTML email following above link.
The problem i am facing is,When i am deploying the code through crxde.Code is working fine.
But using maven deploy..Bundle get activated ..But at line:
messageGateway = this.messageGatewayService.getGateway(HtmlEmail.class);
,it gives null Pointer exception.
Any pointer,why its not working from maven deployment.

Depending on which Adobe application you are using, the EUA will vary somewhat
and there are several applications that handle PDF products, Adobe Reader is one.
You could check into the results linked here that show several end-user-agreements
with Adobe over a few product lines; to see what may apply to whatever you're using.

In the open application, near where the name of the product appears, you should be
able to check into such places as "about Adobe..." when you click on the Name.
Since I only have Adobe Reader, not any of their retail application programs, what
little that tells me may not be anywhere near enough to answer your open question.
In Adobe Reader, if it were not to work on initial installation, I'd likely have to open the
application from its location in the Applications folder (in Adobe reader folder) and then
agree to the terms of the EUA in a small window that would appear at that point... and
after that any use of the Reader should simply be almost automatic if another application
sends a PFD request for the Reader to run and let me read content. Mine is set to not
do anything automatically, for security purposes, though. Hope the search links help.

How to deploy rpt chnges to end users using Windows Installer?

We are in ISV and we develop an integrated suite of business management applications. We use Crystal Reports extensively in these applications. We currently deploy 717 rpt files with our suite.
Because rpt files are not versioned, we are having problems deploying rpt changes to our end users using Windows Installer. Windows Installer assumes that non-versioned files contain user data, so if the file exists on the users system, the file is never over written, even if the file included in the MSI is newer than the file on the users system.
Is it possible to version .rpt files? How do you recommend deploying these files so that if we change a few of then, we will be able to deploy the changes to our end users.

Hi, Todd;
There is a Revision Number property in a report that is updated when any changes are made. You can access this via the File | Properties screen, but I am not sure if you can use it in an installer.

When creating a fillable form fields from an existing pdf file, how do you set or allow end user to set the font size in the fields?

I successfully created a form filled pdf using an existing pdf document. However, the font size is too large to allow end user to type in information in the form box. Is there a way to 1)globally set all of the form fields when generated to a much smaller font size &/or 2) allow end user to change the font size if needed to put all information in one box without font being so large?

There is no option right now to set properties globally primarily for Text fields. You may make sure fields doesn't contain anything.
Select all the text filed from the form and right click any of the selected field make sure all of them are selected choose properties --> Appearance there you can choose Font Size and Font type.
- End users cant change size and type of font. It is up to designer.

Best practice for low bandwidth end-users

Hey guys,
I'm new to CS and am about halfway through my planning stages for a web app.
My end users will be predominantly on 256k-512k connections (yeh I know it sucks, but this is regional/rural Australia) and a fairly large proportion of those are going to be on satellite which is incredibly latent.
Does anyone have some tips on keeping it lean and mean regarding coding or have any experience's they'd mind sharing?

How best to become a proficient Photoshop user (or better)??

I'd appreciate a steer.
I am an enthusiastic amateur digital photographer. I am also fairly proficient with computer stuff generally (my degree). In terms of digital photography, I'm off the bottom of the curve but not by much: I understand white balance, the rudiments of colour spaces, luminance, contrast, etc... but as soon as it gets complex I am out of my depth. Bottom line is I think I understand it as well, or better, than most people who come to Photoshop for the first time. So far with PS (CS4) I have managed to remove minor blemishes, fix red eye, adjust contrast and colour to make photos more interesting - but (for example) I got stuck when trying to remove an image from the background.
BASICALLY I want to know how best to learn PS to a professional level; I am smart enough to pick stuff up fast but too busy to attend a training course. So I'm looking for the best book, or the best video tutorial, or whatever that will take me from understanding the basics (tools, brushes, layers, etc) all the way through to being able to create pre-press standard images and "alternative art"!
What do you pros out there recommend, if you can remember that far back? I am thinking I can devote a few hours per week (3-6) and will keep studying as long as it takes.

As Curt says, Lynda.com does really have great tutorials, but there are a lot of good ones out there that are free. For example, Deke McClelland has posted great videos on the top 40 features of Photoshop (his choice of features of course) on his blog http://www.deke.com/dekepod. (Feature one and two haven't been posted yet.)
Regarding books, I recommend that you go to a bookstore or a site like Amazon.com, where you can preview some of the chapters of the books and read reader reviews. This is because people learn in different ways, and you need books that cater to your style of learning. I got the Classroom in a Book books for Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign at a discount when I registered my Adobe software, but I don't use them. I recently bought Martin Evening's Adobe Photoshop CS4 for Photographers, and it is much better for me. You might like something completely different. It would be great if you would report back on what works best for you. Good luck!

Hi,
The user "user02 " is updating the current SWC. So no other user can access it. First activat it using user "user02"
OR
If u r using the new user go to IR --> Change Lists --> for "User" Select user02 from dropdown --> Click on display --> it will show u the objects of user02 that r not active. --> Select the change list and transport it to ur scenario --> Select ur user again and activate the transported change list.

How to create global groups for end users

Just started deployment of Lync 2013. We do not host our exchange / mail internally. It is a hosted solution (not exchange). We do use outlook though.
It has been a long time since I set up Lync (Since OCS 2007 / 2007 R2)
Can someone please tell me how to create groups for all users on the Lync Client and populate them from groups in AD.Right now we are using Spark and we have decided to use Lync. In Spark it queries AD every day and populates the groups from AD
groups that we have defined.
I know that users can create there own groups, but we prefer to have every client have every group (department) and those in department listed below rather than them have to manually add them individually.

Lync Client can't use AD group or Exchange mail group. You can't create Lync client group with AD GPO. each Lync user can create their own group in Lync client and of course can delete.
You can not manage Lync client within the
group as the centeral. There is no such
feature in Lync. you can examine 3rd party applications. for example ;

How best to receive photos from PC users?

How can I receive photos in Apple Mail from a PC user who says photos have been either attached or embedded in email? There is no evidence in his email of an attachment. Any guidance for me or that I can offer him would be appreciated. Thanks.

The photos should just show up the same as if a mac user sent them. If they don't show up, it may mean either:
1 that your friend forgot to attach them
2 that your friend is behind a firewall that's been set up to strip away attachments (which is an annoying way of trying to stop the spread of viruses), or
3 that you are behind a firewall that's been set up to strip away attachments
There is one other possibility. In Apple's Mail, if the Junk filter is in training mode, and it thinks that the mail is spam, it may not automatically load the images. When you view the mail from your friend, does it have a brown stripe across the top and is there text saying something like "mail thinks this is junk mail"? If so, then there should be one button so you can mark it as "Not Junk" and another button to "Load Images".

Best way of creating a report where end user can maintain names in groups

I'm working on a project as a independent consultant for a company and I'm using Crystal Professional Reports version XI.
I have a main report and a subreport that contains summary totals. I'm going to link the two reports by a date parameter range. For the subreport, the report is going to be grouped by four groups. Each of the groups contain a list of names. What would the best approach to give the end user who will be running the report on a daily basis to add or remove names for each of the groups when end user is prompted to run the report?
   I want to make it easy as possible for the end user to maintain this list in the sub report because of the following reasons: after the report is deployed,I will not be there on site to maintain it instead I will be available over the phone for support and the end user is the manager of the department and is not a Crystal reports developer or programmer.

Well let me start by saying that maintaining hard coded lists in a report definition is a bad idea and should be avoided if at all possible.
This of course means that it isn't always possible... In fact I have a few of my own reports that suffer from the same situation. Here is the way I handle it to make the list maintenance as easy and error free as possible.
#1) I created a new Report Custom Function. Let's call it NamesToGroups. The function will look like this... (Crystal Syntax)

Note that the list setup makes it easy to see who's in what group and makes it easy to add new people to the correct group...
#2) Now you can simple use the function in a formula. Lets call it NameGroups and the formula would look like this...

#3) Now NameGroups is available for grouping or selection purposes or just to add as a formula on the design surface.
#4) If you are using CRS or BOE the function can be saved to the repository for use in other reports as well
Now any time a new name needs to be added, the user can access the "Report Custom Functions" are of the Formula Workshop and add the name to the function, which in turn, will be propagated through the rest of the report. It's also easy to see how the function is actually working so that new groups can also be easily added.

How to view just Reports by one end user in OIM

How could I make just one end user to view only "Reports link" in OIM web console? When I login with xelsysadm into OIM then i can view all links in left panel. I would like to provide one end user just to view reports but not the others.

Those are probably set on the "All Users" group. You'll need to remove the default menu items all user's get and create new groups that provide what is needed to those users. You cannot remove a user from the All Users group.

The best practice is to allow end user to create and save their own grids. There is no need to limit users from a potentially useful feature. If you have grids which you don't want users to change, assign a class to those grids which they should change, and give them View access to that class.
If you still don't want users to save their own grids, you might try giving them View access to the [Default] class, though any user smart enough to assign a class to the grid for which the user has All access to can still save the grid. Such users should be recruited to the application administration team and given a raise :-)

In the past I worked as java developer, and with other programming languages.
I have a doubt: is it possible (or forbidden by SAP AG??) to develop an ABAP package (which, obiousvly, contains Z / Y Abap objects) and apply an "End User License" on it, i.e. on the ABAP code written? (I mean that the copryrights are mine, and I give an "End User License" to my customers (that buy the license), in order to get and run my abap code). I would avoid to sell my Abap package, but, if possibile, I would only give it according a "Use License".
May I do this thing without any problems, or have I to consider other aspects, like ask to SAP to reserve a namespace, or obtain SAP Netweaver certification for my ABAP solution, or other things?
(Infact the "End User License" that I mean is different from "SAP End User License")
Please, let me know your opinion and how or who could solve my matter.
