How can Adobe lose my business?

By their very poor customer support.
I attempted to subscribe to the Photoshop Photography Program.
I have been a loyal Photoshop user since version 2.5.
I just purchased the Photoshop Photography Program and I am also unable to get beyond the verify my date of birth.
No problem when wanting to charge my card but a problem when trying to access the download center.
I initially ordered using an old name: wlescall
which was tagged to my email address: [email protected]
I got a confirmation email at 0726 EDT:
Order # AD009483190
When trying to get to the download center I get stuck in the infinite birthday loop.
I just wasted over 30 on the phone with customer support with any help.
Please fix this or cancel my subscription.
Posted the above on this board as suggested by the support page. No response.
Phone support was a complete waste of time:
I ended up with a serial number listed on My Adobe. Downloaded the Creative Cloud app, then through that downloaded Photoshop CC; which gave me an error message with the serial number.
I got an email about a case number 0211504489 update, to which I responded.

Another week has passed and the response from the Adobe Support Portal

Logging into the "Creative Cloud" only lists me as a trial member.
"My Adobe" shows "Photoshop photo pgm" as one of "My Products"
10 days of this is unacceptable.
I have switched my workflow to Apple's Aperture (which accepts my plug-ins) and has excellent customer support.
Please delete me from the "Creative Cloud" and CANCEL Order # AD009483190

    Hi, PR-
    You would upload it the way you would upload any set of files to your web server.  Some companies have them set up as network shares, some have them set up so that you log in with an FTP or SFTP account, and some have them set up so that you use SCP or a similar protocol.  Basically, you will want to publish to web and then take the contents of the publish/web/ directory and put them into a directory on your webserver.

           We have three types of categories:
                1) Business Packages for Every User
                2) Business Packages for Managers.

        When you click on any of Categories, you can find related to that categories of    Business Packages.
         Click on Download   then it will ask for Service Marketplace id and password

    The Vista installation is not tricky.
    Just put the Vista disk into the ODD and then boot from the disk.
    The installation will start automatically.
    But this will format your HDD and you will lose your installed Win XP and other files.

    I assume youve got a Toshiba recovery disk.
    If you want to get back the OS installed by Toshiba then you should use the Toshiba recovery disk for recovering.
    PS: what Qosmio F do you have exactly? I ask it because F 108 is not known to me

    You probably don't want to call a function in your UI from your AM.
    Doing this will break the MVC design pattern and will make your AM depends on a specific UI page.
    The way to communicate between the two is through service methods on the AM that are invoked from the UI layer.

    I am a college professor who uses Flash ActionScript to teach the fundamentals of computer programming to undergraduate communication students. Flash is the ideal platform for demystifying computer programming. The program's animation tools provide a friendly on-ramp to the world of ActionScript. Students love it.
    During the past year, the decision to abandon support for the Flash Player has led many people in our industry to conclude that Flash is about to become obsolete. Sadly, many technology and web design columnists have echoed the "Flash is dead" mantra without actually digging beneath the surface.
    As people who read this forum are surely aware, the Flash Player is just one of two possible Flash runtimes. Adobe AIR also delivers Flash content, and Adobe has no intention of abandoning AIR.
    Adobe is not doing a good job of explaining the situation to the general population. If you look through the comments thread related to the Flash Player on Google Play, you will see that many people misunderstand what is happening. Most people think that Flash, in all of its forms, is nearly dead. I have spoken with skilled web developers and graphic designers who mistakenly believe that Flash is down for the count. Yes, there is an Adobe Roadmap for Flash Runtimes, but most people don't read or understand these sorts of white papers.
    Flash is not dead. But if Adobe doesn't do a better job of getting the message out to the general population, I fear that our colleagues, students, and clients will steer away from anything potentially Flash-related.
    Does anyone else agree with my claim that Adobe needs better messaging about Flash and AIR? If so, how can we bring this to Adobe's attention? If not, can you point me to good resources and popular press articles that explain why Flash is not dead in terms that make sense to a general audience.

    Adobe AIR runtime is Flash with extra libraries. The underpinnings are the same. AIR runtime is flash runtime is AIR runtime. The code you're allowed to run is the difference. Open up an .air (it's just a .zip, like an .ipa, etc) and it's a SWF. EXE just wraps it, possibly with a captive runtime.
    Enough.
    Adobe doesn't need to defend Flash. If you need to defend flash as a viable path to continue teaching your students, that's another thing.
    While the multimedia engine makes exciting things happen "easily", learning programming overall in ActionScript is unideal. Major required concepts like the display list have no application in traditional programming fundamentals. If you want the visual training wheels while still launching avid programmers then you should be teaching C#.NET. It doesn't get much easier than drag and drop components with a killer (express edition=free) programming environment. There is no comparison between debuggers, period. If you're teaching animation then by all means continue using ActionScript.
    Outside the web there are plenty of viable uses of Flash and AIR from mobile and tablet apps to small kiosks. Flash also stated in their MAX conference they're realizing that JavaScript+Canvas can do some of the things flash is most often used for. That's displaying video and animating advertisments.
    Please, STOP saying HTML5. It's nothing at this point. It's not even a standard or even close to being a W3C recommendation across the board. They had to break the syntax up into categories for separate recommendation and amendment processes just because it was taking so long to evolve into a recommendation. The majority of the WOW factor of HTML5 is not just HTML5. It's people who can't identify between HTML5, JavaScript and CSS.
    Unless you love killer preset dissolve transitions in powerpoint, without any competition what-so-ever, Flash is going nowhere for a very long time. In fact they just gave us the keys to the GPU, so we're all just getting started again. As far as I'm concerned Adobe did a good job offering the HTML5-JS toolkit for the better of the SEO-friendly and mobile device market. They're sick of people doing everything in Flash just because if it's not on a timeline or click-and-drag they can't be bothered to learn how to do it the right way.

  • Libraries - how can iTunes lose them?

    I am at a loss. iTunes is a famous Apple product and yet it is apparently so unstable that if you dare to move the files, even when following instructions, suddenly you can be left quite helpless, with not a song in sight. I have spent the entire evening resurrecting my iTunes folder on the second attempt, which I moved to my Hard Drive from my external drive, and (at great length) also fixed the artwork which was really muddled (a lot missing that had been there before, as well as some that was quite wrong). Then I decided to make a second library for some work files.
    I followed the help file carefully but now I cannot open my entire, large, collection although it is there in the music folder. The new library I gave a new name to, but iTunes does not see it.
    It's rather a bleak outlook, isn't it, because I see a lot of unanswered posts on this forum, and that suggests that there is something not quite right with the software, if so many people are having problems and there is not adequate help either in the form of articles or as people online to help sort it out. What a pity!
    But if someone can shed light on this, I would be very grateful! It seems that I cannot select the new folder by using preferences. Why not? I am sure I have done it before.

    I'm struggling but making some progress. I did find the artwork I was installing last night (that's good) but not where I expected, and I found all sorts of iTunes files all over the place. I think what I've got is actually what you described, as I did drag my music folder over from the external drive and dropped it into a new (named differently) folder, but I have no idea now whether iTunes is pointing to that folder or not. It does not contain a data file called iTunes Library. The 'good' album artwork folder is somewhere else!
    Where are all the files that you need to run iTunes on your set-up?
    I think one problem that many of us must be running into is the naming of the components. You said that you delete all the music in your iTunes Library - but I don't think you can't do that unless you mean delete the data file called 'iTunes Library'. What I suppose you did is delete all the music files in 'iTunes Music'. But I don't see how iTunes knows where to look for the files in the place that you put them - because that folder will not have the iTunes data files with it.
    And did you know that the iTunes Music folders all contain data files that look identical to the data files in the iTunes folder but I am not sure if they are....What are they? For example, in among my music, looking just like one of my albums is a folder called 'Album Artwork'. And I'll bet you've got one too.
    In other words, iTunes makes an 'iTunes' folder with various data files in it and your music folder called 'iTunes Music' and then, inside 'iTunes Music' are some files with identical names to the data files. Why are they there? Can I delete them? Why is the structure of this set-up not explained anywhere? More to the point, how do I put it all back together again into one operating whole?!
    I hope some people will think about this but I can't get back for a few days.
