I have Jrun webserver running on Unix. I want to write a JSP application that will open Excel spreedsheet. Please let me know if anyone has done this kind of thing. Thanks.

Well there can be various solutions if u really wanna try. The best one is as below.
Ms-Excel has the facility to save an spreadsheet as an HTML page. That solves all ur problems.

The solution would only work on MS IE browsers, as other browsers do not support an XML DOM.
It can be done, but you would be stuck with using the Microsoft broswer. If that is acceptable, I have some example code, and a book recommendation.

Since webdynpros follows Model View Controller Architecture You can access EJBs in webdynpro(views/frontend) infact to connec to database uding JDBC you have to utilise EJB ( opening connection to database closing, and other Business functionality).See this link

You can plug a new phone in and restore the backup from your computer. As has already been stated, however, contacts are NOT part of the backup. Because people were using the File/IO classes to easily steal or remove files on the harddrive, among other such niceties. You do NOT want to have such control from a web application. People will abuse it.

From your responses, it sounds like you have to use an iPad in conjunction with a computer, of some description, to work on documents in the cloud, the iPad alone will not let you do this.

vpn mean virtuel private network which is a program/ protocol which tunnel across the internet providing what seems to the computer that it's present on another Local area network (such as works lan)
so it's unclear if you wish to access your mac from your pc while being connected to the VPN to your works network
or if you wish to connect your mac to your works lan using a vpn client on the mac
if the former then you can't access your home lan from your works lan that you connect to over vpn unless you setup a vpn on your local lan
but a quick search in google or app store for osx should give you some vpn clients for osx so you can connect your mac to your works lan if that is what you want
