How can I access iCloud on an android phone?

I have a work based android device. I note that whenever I try to open "iCloud" on a google search on it, it is somehow blocked. I can imagine why this is so given the marketing strategies of Apple and Google but there must be a way around this stupid and childish barrier. I don't intend giving up my job and I can't tell my company which devices to use and I have no intention of switching from Apple devices to android. So I am betwen the devil (make you choice as to who is what) and the deep blue sea. HELP!

If you have an iCloud account already (which requires an iOS device or Mac to create), it's possible to sync contacts and calendars with the account on an android phone using SmoothSync for Cloud Contacts and SmoothSync for Cloud Calendars. The iTunes Store sells songs in AAC format. Most Android phones can play AACs. Just sync them to your phone per the instructions with the phone.
If by any chance your phone does require MP3 format, you can use iTunes to convert the files, per this guide:
iTunes: How to convert a song to a different file format - Apple Support
(This conversion does not require burning.)
For future reference, note that the iTunes Store is really optimized for people using Apple devices. You might find it more convenient to buy music in Mp3 format from Amazon Digital Music or Google Play Music.

Thank you, I really appreciate your time, but I think I am after something the iPad won't do. I don't want to use a computer at all. I would like to open an iCloud doc using my iPad, work on it (on the iPad), then print or save it back into pages or the iCloud.
From your responses, it sounds like you have to use an iPad in conjunction with a computer, of some description, to work on documents in the cloud, the iPad alone will not let you do this.
So I guess the short answer is, I can't.

vpn mean virtuel private network which is a program/ protocol which tunnel across the internet providing what seems to the computer that it's present on another Local area network (such as works lan)
so it's unclear if you wish to access your mac from your pc while being connected to the VPN to your works network
or if you wish to connect your mac to your works lan using a vpn client on the mac
if the former then you can't access your home lan from your works lan that you connect to over vpn unless you setup a vpn on your local lan
but a quick search in google or app store for osx should give you some vpn clients for osx so you can connect your mac to your works lan if that is what you want

On an ios device, you use the Calendar app to view events. Using a computer's browser, you can also log into icloud.com and view events there as well (but mobile safari does not support this, only a computer browser does).
