How can i access my user password

I can't download things to my macbook because i don't know my password to the user1 the store where i bought it at set it up and i don't know it is there anyway i can change it without having to go back to the store?

Boot from your install disc and reset it in there. Use 'Reset Password' from the Utilities drop down window.

How can I access the user library of the other users on my iMac?

I am in the process of changing the HDD on my iMac (Seagate 1 TB - free of charge exchange from Apple). As I have had some problems with my kids' user accounts I want to set it all up as new when I get it back.

i faced a problme currently. we have a training system which a lot of people have full authorization.
my users password have been changed several times by someone else. so i do not know if i can make it unchangable? and do you know if i can make the system do not lock my user after failed login attempt.

Have a look at grouping users and make sure the trainers are in a group that cannot be modified by the trainees. As a security consultant I tend to disbelieve anyone who claims to need 'full access'. What is this course about? "How to administer a complete SAP system all alone? "
Apart from that I always tell my trainees to behave or they'll fail the course/test/certification. I always assume I deal with adults when SAP is concerned.

I want to know how can I change the password expiration date of my user without changing his password. For eg:-
User password expires on 12th May 2007. I want to extend to 12th Jun 2007. Is there any option in Oracle.

The command is not alter user set expire...
You should modify the user's profile, and set a timeframe:
ALTER PROFILE DEFAULT LIMIT
PASSWORD_LIFE_TIME = num_of_days;
This way your password will be valid from the last time it was changed and for the time frame previously defined.

you can reset user password by doing:
- sercurity >> user >> define
- search for user you want to reset password for him and set new password and reenter it and save what you make
- when this user reenter with the new password he will prompted to reenter new password and he will done as he like
FOR changing their reponsibility you can doing:
- sercurity >> user >> define
- search for user you want to change his reponsibility and:-
* if you want to add new one to hime you can navagate to reponsibility field and enter the reponsibility you need and set its active date(from - to)
*save what you made
* if you want to revoke reponsibility from him you can set date of from field = date of to field
*save waht you made

How Can I change all User Passwords Within a Directory Instance

Hi Experts,
I've been asked to refresh an old directory instance with some production data. Easy enough I thought, however, the user has requested that all user passwords within the old directory instance are preserved. Is that at all possible? My chain of thought was that I can extract user passwords from the old instance into a file: -
# ldapsearch -D cn="Directory Manager" -w xxxxxxxx -b o=xxxxxxx objectclass=* userpassword > <name of file>
And then then use ldapmodify (or alike) to re-import the user passwords once I've refresh the old instance with the production data. However, to my knowledge, in order to modify a particular entry via a file, i'd need the following format: -
dn: gci=-1,ou=people,o=xxxxxxxx
changetype: modify
replace: userpassword
userpassword: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The only information I have in the file I created using the ldapsearch command above is as follows: -
dn: gci=-1,ou=people,o=xxxxxxxx
userpassword: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I don't want to have to edit the file and add the relevant missing entries accordingly as the generated file has somewhere in the region of 150 thousand entries.
Am I approaching this the correct way? Is there any other mean of achieving my requirement.

It does not seem a big deal to add the missing lines to your output file.
For instance, the following awk command should do the trick
cat search.out
dn: gci=-1,ou=people,o=xxxxxxxx
userpassword: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
cat search.out | awk '/userpassword/ {print "changetype: modify} ; print "replace: userpassword"; } {print $0}
dn: gci=-1,ou=people,o=xxxxxxxx
changetype: modify
replace: userpassword
userpassword: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Then you can use ldapmodify to apply your changes

How can I access my user folder on a second boot partition?

Hi there. Thank you for reading this. I am at a bit of a loss although I have searched several forums to find someone having the same problem:
I use my Macbook Pro in the office and at home. To keep things strictly apart and have to separate Time Machine backup procedures, I have divided my harddrive into two boot partitions ('office' and 'private') and installed Mountain Lion on both of them. Now occasionally when I am at the office I would like to access my user folder on 'private' to retrieve a file from the documents folder there (e.g. a paper I gave in my free time but would like to send to a colleague). Now although I see the 'private' volume, and the other user folder and the Documents folder in it with a red 'No Access' badge, even when I set read/write permissions via Command-I > Permissions for my current account, I do not see any files in it apart from Microsoft User Data. I have tried enabling the root user but with the sam result.
Do I really have to shut down the computer and boot with the 'private' boot volume in order to access the files on 'private'>user?

To solve this issue permanently, is to first disconnect both TimeMachine drives.
Boot into one partition and consider it history, make a note of everything, apps, export bookmarks, serial keys and files to a regular external drive. (non TimeMachine)
If on a hard drive, consider the first partition for performance, the second one is going to be slower. (SSD no need)
Next what you do is boot into the first partition and use Disk Utility to erase (with zero option if a hard drive) the other partition. Then use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the first partition to the second. (should be about equal sizes or tweak before cloning.)
Repair permissions on both partitions in Disk Utility.
Next boot into the second partition and install/uninstall apps and files. etc and set it backup up the way you had it.
Once your sure, then update TimeMachine for each one.
Now you will be able to easily access the other bootable partition as long as your logged into the same account name on the first partition., in other words you can access the same named account on both partitions and trade files without rebooting.
Because it's a clone, you have the same access privileges to the files on the other partition.
If your a power user, your going to find bootable clones are a much superior option than TimeMachine

You cannot retrieve your password but you can reset it to a new one. Go to http://iforgot.apple.com and sign in with your iCloud login. A new password will be sent to your associated email address. If this doesn't work you will have to contact Support. Go to https://getsupport.apple.com; click' See all products and services', then 'More Products and Services, then 'Apple ID', then 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Lost or forgotten Apple ID password'.
Note that once you have changed the password you will need to sign out and back in again on all your devices. If you have 'Find My iPhone' (or whatever) set up on any of them you may be in difficulties as you will need to turn that off and may require the old password to do so, so you should try to do this before changing the password. I shouldn't log out, though, until you have the reset password organized.

However, acpid runs as root, and it seems like root cannot find or access a logged in user's D-Bus session.
Example:
# purple-remote 'setstatus?status=offline'
No existing libpurple instance detected.
(the command works fine from the logged in user's shell)
I've googled around a bit, and there was a hit about changing the euid of the shell, but changing this via zsh's EUID environment variable had no notable effect on the outcome.
Any ideas? I tried with sudo -u <username> but that doesn't help either.

And I need to display a column in the report only if update is Add. I was thinking of writing a format trigger for that field. But I do not know how can I access this user defined column named update in the trigger?

Try ":update" minus the double-quotes. Ex:
    IF :update = 'add' THEN
      RETURN(TRUE);
    ELSE
      RETURN FALSE;

You'll want to place your hard-coded values in single-quotes. Ex:

I did a factory restore and then restored it with iCloud back-up. I have been using lots of Apple products and i have used three different email adresses. Almost all apps restored perfectly but everytime i try to play a song in the Music app, i asks me for a Apple-ID i had no idea i have used.
Hence:
I lost my password for my original iTunes account
I can't recover it because the email address it is registered under is not longer valid
How can I access my old account?
Can't find a place to change the email address to my new one without the password which I no longer remember.
There is no way to just erase Apple-ID's on my device either.
What to do? Should i ju give up and start from scratch and delete 2 years of stuf?

If you can remember the answers to the security questions when you set up that account - I think that you can reset the password without needing email authentication. You can try it here. Read it and see if it's possible. But if you can't remember the answers to the questions it will not work.
