You can't, and Apple won't unlock it for you; the activation lock is an anti-theft measure. You may be able to get a refund.

If you are referring to Activation Lock, the password for the Apple ID signed into the device is required, there is no way around this. If you do not have the information and cannot contact the previous owner, the device is useless.

You may need to try this More than Once... Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...

This means Activation Lock is on, or you just need to click the button on the computer that says overwrite the content on the phone and continue with the sync.

I recently got a new iphone from the apple store and i forgot to back up before getting one, so i backed up on the icloud for the first time, i had alot of photos ect so i chose to not back them up to save time when i was with my genius guy. But now all my photos are gone, obviously. But im just wondering if i could restore my iphone to the previous back up i had on my mac. Is this possible? I just want my photo stream back !
ThanksIf you are in the US then you should be able to download some or all of your films : re-downloading. If you are not in the US then have you not got them on your computer's iTunes and/or on a backup ?

If you mean activating it as far as using it on your phone plan, then you're going to have to go to your cell provider and have them do that for you and add the device to your current plan. Otherwise without activating it, the most your iPhone will be, is a thick iPod. Of course with wifi, you could still send iMessages, but that's the extent without adding it to a cell plan.

If your phone was previously hacked to unlock it, when you updated the hack was removed and it's re-locked to the original carrier. The phone will now activate and operate only with that original carrier.

Go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings. This will erase your device. Then you will go through the setup screens again as you did when your device was new, and when given the option, select Restore from iCloud Backup.

Assuming you haven't taken up too much memory from apps to hold the 11 gigs of music...
After you plug in your iPhone, go to the music tab. Make sure you have it set to sync all music.
If apps/books/etc. leave you with less than 11 gig of space for you music, make playlists and sync those instead -
