How can I activate the wireless button Windows XP.

Question

I am trying to add my laptop to My Wureless Desk top.  But every time I try to join the network the software tells  me my wireless button needs to be activated in order to get on the network.  I don't know how to activate it, or turn it on
on.  I see it in my small icons, but there nothing about switching it off and on!  Any answers?

I'd ask in the
Windows XP forum on Microsoft Community.
Windows XP is no longer supported, but there is a thriving volunteer community there.
As the Microsoft Community is on a different platform, we cannot move the question for you.
