How can I add songs to my ipod without deleting what's on it?
I have photos on my ipod that have been erased from my computer. How can I transfer them back to my computer or how can I *** music without deleting them?
You will need that library copied from the old computer. If not, then you can take a look at this in getting 3rd party software to recover your library from the iPod. Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive

How can i add songs to my ipod touch???????
apparently apple has done another update, and a whole revamp of the original layout and i can not find ANYTHING any more. updates dont work and it says my 2000 pictures are gone and my 500 songs show as only 1 song.....which is the ONE new song i just added. what the heck did they do????? how can i upload anything?????
I promise you i will NEVER EVER buy anything from apple ever again. This has been my first and final purchase because they seem to make it soooooo overly complicated that i just want to smash the machine to bits and go buy something else.....which is in the very near future. I can get a $50 mp3 touch screen player with 32GB through walmart right now that does EVERYTHING this ipod touch does and if it breaks WHO CARES IT WAS $50!!!! Unlike the $400 i spent on this piece of crap. But the best feature on the cheap walmart one is the ability to use it and understand it!!!
So for now, because i am giving this pos to my son to play with all he wants, how do i get it to add songs?????
Thank you.I'd suggest restoring it to make sure you start completely clean:

Then you can sync whatever content you wish:

Connect to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and “ Check for Updates “...
If an Update Appears Install it... if not... you are up to date for your particular Device...

How can I upload songs to my ipod without formatting it on a new itunes?
I had my ipod touch connected to my old computer on itunes, but the computer went down and i cant access it anymore. I connected my ipod to my new computer and new itunes but it says it needs to be formatted and erase all songs on it so it can connect to the itunes. Is there a way i can use my new itunes, but keep all my old songs on my ipod? I have too many to erase them all.
It's very easy to backup media... you simply backup the computer.
Choosing to not backup the computer is rather ignorant. All it takes is a power surge, hard drive failure, natural disaster, computer virus, or theft and all your important media and files are gone.
Most Operating Systems have backup solutions included, it's simply up to the user to provide a place for it to backup (i.e external hard drive) there are also options to backup to a web based service.
As for the iPhone and iTunes not being user friendly, I'd seriously disagree with you on that statement. Ultimately it's up to you, but I think after a little hassle with another mp3 player and trying to manage it via other software you'll agree as well. -
How can I download songs from my library without deleting existing songs
I have just imported a CD into my itunes library. I then manually tried to import only the songs from the CD onto my ipod .I did this by selecting the manual update option to only import selected songs. However after the songs were loaded, the previous songs on my ipod were no longer there. Can anyone help
Oi! Lou!
You can't load songs from a CD straight to your iPod. You must first rip them into iTunes and then transfer to your iPod. Also, if you want to transfer songs manually to iPod, make sure that you are not set up for automatic sync with iTunes.
Good luck,

How do I add songs to my iPod without erasing the whole ****?
Yeah, May I ask this, I updated some songs, such like one band was twice on the list, because small name error. So I fixed if, now if I try sync the i**, it says that it will need to erase all, wohoo?
I'm authorized on this computer, manual sync is on, I'm admin and everything, so whats wrong? Or how I sync with this iFailure?

perhaps I slould have also added to chek the option "Sync only checked songs and videos", down on the "Summary" window of iTunes, it should be selected. On the specific window/s for music, movies..., select the option/s accordingly.

Ps.: I assume that U have previously dawnloaded the music/videos/ movies, etc legally with iTunes or a compatible software. And previously downloaded the content of the iPod from your iTunes music. library.

How can i add songs to a family members ipod without erasing existing songs
How can i add songs to a family members ipod without erasing her existing song list.
For future reference, since I came here for the same reason, I'd like to add to the solution. The link was not complete in explaining how to, but then again I'll just trying to attempt to fill in the gap.
After opening iTunes, on the upper left hand side is a small icon with an arrow pointing down. Click on the arrow and a menu pops out. Click on "Show Menu Bar." On the new bar(Older iTunes File, Edit, View, Controls, etc. bar at the top). Click on View and then Show Side Bar. There you can just click and drag new songs into your iDevice without any problems... hopefully...
Seriously, this helped me, so if Apple finds a way to not allow me to do this simple task of adding purchased songs into my idevices from another computer, I'll have to resort to other means.
The one idevice that's having trouble with is my iShuffle(2nd). -
How do I add songs from my iPod to my iTunes
How do I add songs from my iPod to my iTunes??
Within Windows' folder options, select the option to view all hidden and system files. Then access your iPod through My Computer. Go into the transulcent iPod "ipod_control" folder. There's a folder in there called 'Music'. All your songs are in the several folders within this folder.
Sadly they're all renamed by iTunes, but all artist, album and song name information is retained within the files. You can simple copy the files from this folder onto your hard drive and add them into iTunes as normal. -

how can i add apps to my ipod touch 2 with ios 4.2.1
Same way as always. Purchases directly for the App store on the iPod or download on your computer and sync to your iPod. To more easily find compatible apps:
iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
Vintapps 3.1.3 - paid app.
Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version. -
