How can I add value to asset without extending life? Help!

My team and I are working on a new straight-line depreciation key. During testing we've found that if we add value to an asset in the year after acquisition, there is a depreciation adjustment in the month after the asset becomes fully depreciated. We can't have this happen becuase it has already been identified as a Sarbanes-Oxley remediation item. How do we eliminate this adjustment after the asset becomes fully depreciated?

Thank you so much for your response Bernhard! Forgive me if I sound obtuse, I am an accountant and not a techincal expert. What you described sounds like the method we are moving away from. The method calculates based on remaining value over remaining life, but we've seen huge adjustments made at the end of the placed-in-service year, followed by a sharp decrease in depreciation amounts in subsequent years. This is not acceptable because our corporate policy requires straight-line depreciation.
If I am not interpreting your response correctly, please let me know.
I'm wondering if "smoothing" would eliminate the adjustment in the period after the asset fully depreciates. Your thoughts on this are welcome!

You can't add a rescue email address without being able to answer 2 of your security questions, you will need to contact Apple to get them reset.
As South Africa isn't on this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699 , then you can try contacting them via this link, saying that you don't have a rescue email address and that you are in South Africa (which isn't on the HT5699 page) and see what they reply with : https://ssl.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html

How can I add a library asset to a specific master spread?

Hello! I am new to the forums and rather new to javascript as it relates to indesign so I apologize if this is rudimentary.
I am building a script that automates new document creation for our company and have run into a problem with placing library assets.
I want to add a library asset to a specific master page by name, but I cannot find a way to do this.
I can get assets to place into my document with this:
            var t = app.libraries.item(0);
            var libTapeStrip= t.assets.itemByName('Tape Strip');
            var myTapeStrip = libTapeStrip.placeAsset(myDocument);
However, the asset is being placed on a master spread that I had previously added to the document. It seems to be the active or front most spread because when the script is complete and I create a new window that spread is what is displayed with the asset on it.
I would like to place the asset on another master spread, but placeAsset() only accepts documents and text boxes. I have also looked on a way to bring the master spread I want to the front, but cannot find this either.
If anyone can lead me in the right direction I would appreciate it!!

@Benjamin – You could make the spread (or the page) where you want to place that asset the "activeSpread" or "activePage", place the asset and then go back to the old active one.
Something like this:
(Here I assume that you want to place your asset on a master spread named "A-Master" and the asset is the first in the one and only library file that is open.)

var myMaster = app.documents[0].masterSpreads.itemByName("A-Master");
var myLibrary = app.libraries[0];
var myAsset = myLibrary.assets[0];

Hello, I'm trying to transfer my iTunes library from an old computer with small hard drive to a new windows 8 laptop. Much of my library consists of links to MP3/ 4 files etc but there isn't enough harddrive memory to consolidate the files into iTunes music folder. I downloaded the library onto an external hardrive and have installed it on the new computer. All files that were in iTunes music (now iTunes Media file) work fine. I have transferred over all my MP3 files but of course iTunes library wont play the file as there is no established link to the file and it asks whether iTunes should locate the file. I don't want to have to import every MP3 file/ folder all over again and then delete the unlinked entries in iTunes as this will take way too much time. Is there a way to sync all of these MP3 files to iTunes automatically or do I need to go back to start and somehow try and put the library back onto the hard drive and get the files consolidated to that from my old computer? Any help most gratefully recieved. Thanks.

The files that weren't inside the media folder on the original machine need to be copied over to exactly the same paths as they had on the source machine. See this thread for an ongoing discussion of a similar problem. See also this post on migrating the iTunes library.

When the above poster referred to "manual syncing", that means to drag-and-drop songs to your iPod (in iTunes); as opposed to wither of the two "automatic" options.

Yes, you can add your own videos to iTunes, then sync them to your nano, subject to supported max resolution limit and file type. The specs for the 7th gen nano says (I don't know which nano model you have), Video Format Support

(earlier nanos have lower max resolution limits)
So, "HD" video is too high resolution, so iTunes will not sync such videos to the iPod (although they play in iTunes). If you are asking how to set up iTunes to sync videos in general (regardless of source), please post back.

For future reference, since I came here for the same reason, I'd like to add to the solution. The link was not complete in explaining how to, but then again I'll just trying to attempt to fill in the gap.
After opening iTunes, on the upper left hand side is a small icon with an arrow pointing down. Click on the arrow and a menu pops out. Click on "Show Menu Bar." On the new bar(Older iTunes File, Edit, View, Controls, etc. bar at the top). Click on View and then Show Side Bar. There you can just click and drag new songs into your iDevice without any problems... hopefully...
Seriously, this helped me, so if Apple finds a way to not allow me to do this simple task of adding purchased songs into my idevices from another computer, I'll have to resort to other means.
The one idevice that's having trouble with is my iShuffle(2nd).

To be more precise, i am creating a property list and I want
