How can I automate placing 2 different images side by side in Photoshop?

I have two folders of .jpeg images. I need to take the matching images from each folder and place them side by side, then save as one file. Is there a way to automate this?

How can I automatically mount a sparsebundle image prior to TimeMachine backup?

I've been searching for a couple of days now a way to have Time Machine backup to a drive attached via USB. The drive is a Western Digital 1TB hard drive formatted as NTFS and I'm using Tuxera to read/write from it. I created a 300GB sparsebundle image with 256bit encryption via Disk Utility and was successfully able to mount the image and perform an initial backup via Time Machine. All was well until I got an error stating that the backup image couldn't be loaded due to Error -1. My guess it's because the image is dismounting and when Time Machine states it's looking for the backup image, it's unable to mount it. I've added my password to the KeyChain Access section but am forced to manually mount the image prior to backing up or the backup fails.
Most of the articles I've read deal with network backups but I only have one MacBook Pro Retina Display (Mid-2012) running Mountain Lion 10.8.2 x64 and would like to keep my Windows backups separate. I'm not using a NAS and my setup is a BlackX enclosure holding the 1TB hard drive. Is there something I can do to have Time Machine automatically mount the image prior to backing up?
I wrote a small AppleScript to automate the mounting but I want the whole process automated. I read iCal can help me but apparently it'll pop-up a window that I don't have to want to deal with.
Also, backing up about 36MB takes around five minutes so I'm not thrilled about the speeds. Hopefully there's also a solution for it. I also tried Carbon Copy Cloner and (forgot the name of the other utility) but reading through the features, I just want to keep it simple with Time Machine. I'm mostly concerned about corruption and loss of my data though I'm not sure how much better Time Machine is but am receptive to any suggestions.

I wish to make a slider callery for my website. all the images need to be 750 Pixels high, the width does not matter. I have a mixture of square pandscap and protraite images can i do thing as one export or do i have to do it twice? Once for long edge and once for shot edge?

Yes, you can but there is a trick to it.
In the Export Dialog under <Image Sizing> select Widdth & Height.
Then enter 750 pixels for Height.
Put your cursor into the Width field behind all the numbers that appear there and with the backspace key delete the numbers. If you enter "0" it will not accept that. But it accepts when you just delete the field for Width with the backspace key. The Width field will now be just blank.
When you then export all image will have a height of 750 pixels and the width will fall variously according to thne height / width ratio.
Or alternatively you can enter 7.5" for height at a resolution of 100 ppi.

There's more to it than that.
Folders in Aperture do not hold Images. They hold Projects and Albums. You cannot put an Image in a Folder without putting it in a Project or an Album inside that Folder.
The relationship between Projects and Images is special: every Image must in a Project, and can be in only one Project.
Images can be in as many Albums you want. Putting an Image in an Album does not move it from the Project that holds it.
You can make as many Versions from a Master as you want.
What you want to do may appear simple to you, but it still much adhere to how Aperture works. I still can't tell exactly what you are trying to do (specifically: Images don't live in Folders; moving an Image from a Folder is non-sensical).
It can be very confusing (and frustrating) to get going with Aperture -- but it does work, and can be enormously helpful. If you haven't, take a look at the video tutorials on Apple's Aperture support site.
I feel as though I haven't helped you much -- but we need to be using the same names for interface items in order to get anything done -- and my sense is that you still haven't learned the names of the parts.

how can i "automate" multi-page .pdf output to preflight/imposition software workflow, organized by color/bw?
basically what i'm trying to do is create a simple output function from InDesign that allows the user to just export a multi-page .pdf into a hot folder and on through preflight and imposition software. i want to be able to tell the hot folder which pages are color -so it can separate, rename and direct color pages to a color queue and b/w pages to a b/w queue.
i've researched indesign distiller presets and the Acrobat JDF but the JDF isn't really meant for this exact purpose and doesn't help reduce the number of steps currently necessary to manually output/rename/etc.
is there another way that i can embed information into a .pdf that could be read by a hot folder?

You might check out this third-party plug-in for InDesign. It may or may not help you (I've never used it). I just saw it on the new Adobe Exchange (beta in Adobe Labs). Here's the description:

Its easy to take an iPad screenshot. Press & release the Home and the Power buttons quickly at the same time. I have trouble with that so I press & hold the Home button and then very quickly press and release the Power button. Your screenshot is stored in the Camera Roll of the Photos app. Probably the easiest way to get it to your PC is to be using iCloud, or email it to your PC. There are also some wireless sync apps in the iTunes app store that let you send photos from the iPad to a Mac or PC. I use PhotoSync.

The first is easy just place the documents in /Users/Shared anyone can access the files there and the other users will be able to read them.
The second is a bit trickier.

If you want Muse to "pass through" your images and not adjust, compress, crop etc - you need to place your images in the lightbox EXACTLY at the right size, pre-cropped and prepped in Photoshop.
So if your light box is 800x600 the image you're dropping into that must be 800x600 exactly with no effects, rotation etc added to the lightbox frame. This stop Muse fiddling with your images, if they are perfect when inserted and you're not asking Muse to crop, expand, add effects etc. If it's perfect when inserted, Muse SHOULD also leave the resolution alone too, but I have not tried that one, but in theory, it should work.

With iPhoto every new photo was automatically imported and saved on my local disk (with "full resolution" that's what I only need). In the new photo app I have still my photo stream and when I move a photo (drag and drop from the photo stream) to a new album it indicates a (plus). My understanding is that the photo is now copied to my local disk. But when I deleted the photo in the photo stream it was also deleted in the album !?
If that is the case I can use the photo stream only until I reach the max of 1.000 photos, then I have to delete photos and I will have no copy left.
How can I "physically" copy a photo of the photo stream to my local disk? I just want to "transfer" all pictures taken with Ipads, Iphones to my central storage on the Mac. Please don't propose to connect it via iTunes (cable) to the Mac.
Any other suggestions?

The amazing device cannot do it because no amazing developer has written an app for it. There is some interest, others have asked, but i have a hunch that the market is fairly limited, and no developer has jumped at the chance just yet.
Any sort of tethered approach means try to feed the material to the pad thru the cck. Which means the app would have to use the allowed/existing cck pathway in a manner that does not violate the sandbox rules. That may be the problem.

It sounds like you are talking about the cloning tool?
Tool looks like this:
Then when selected you can change the size of the brush and using Alt (windows) and Command (Mac) to select your region you want to copy then start to create you cloned image.
