How can I BLOCK others from receiving return receipts on mail they send me?

I would rather others not know when I read their emails. Can Mail block return receipts?
I searched for an existing string on this and didn't find one. Excuse me if I missed one.

As Allan said, Mail does not support receipts, but sometimes HTML messages download images from a server, and this connection could be used to confirm that the message was opened. To prevent that,
Preferences > Viewing, Un-check "Display remote images in HTML messages".

Might sound kind of silly, but you could go into Contacts, the person in question, edit, and where it says Add Field, put somthing in like STOP, or DO NOT DO THIS
At least that would get your attention, even if it doesn't block you from emailing.
There just isn't much you can do to block yourself. If you have a couple close friends, do something like an AA support group...call a friend and have them talk you out of emailing.
I'm not trying to be smart alecky about this, actually trying to help, but there isn't much to offer.

How can I export songs from my iTunes to a mail program/computer? The songs in question are originals composed by my boyfriend in Garage Band. We have full rights to them, but they import into iTunes like all the other artists songs. His hard drive crashed and I have the only copies. I have no access to my iMac for 2 months while we tour our show and we need them on the tour. We are in dire straights if we can not access these songs and the iPad will not hook up to our equipment. If they are in the iPad's Music app then the only way to get them out of it is by connecting the iPad to a computer. As they aren't iTunes purchases you won't be able to copy them back to a computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, instead you will need a third-party program on the computer to copy them off - there are some listed half-way down this page which should work: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

Yes, leave your personal account running in the background and the guest account in the foreground, or if that's somehow inconvenient (and with fast user switching I don't think it is really), you can lock the Dock with a program like Tinkertool (System?) or Onyx and lock applications from removal by locking their status in file info (apple+a to select all the apps, apple + click to unselect the drawers or non-apps, and then applealti to do multiple file info at once) and then click the lock square. Then back out to the apps folder info itself and lock it.

The only thing you can do for now is change your message settings on your iPhone. I had to do the same thing. It disables all "iMessages" but not texts (you'd have to do that through your carrier). Go to settings, messages, then disable iMessage. Text message charges will apply with your carrier, but no big deal cause it's likely you already have a text message package on your plan. Just farewell to seeing when people are messaging you, but also farewell to creeper.

What if the Name in Mail preferences, account settings is greyed out? How/where can I change it? It is correct in System Prefernces, Mail contacts and calenders and in the iCloud setting in System Prefences.

I'm getting FB email announcements whenever a friend of mine adds a new "friend" or posts a new photo on his FB wall. He claims his system was hacked and he cannot prevent FB from sending me announcements. I don't have a FB account and want to prevent any email from FB. I've created a Mac email filter to delete incoming FB mail, but it doesn't seem to work - the emails go into my junk folder. I want them to be automatically deleted. Can anyone help me?
