How can I break a PDF into several PDFs of just a few pages?

I have a large pdf of about 30 pages broken into several pdf's of just a few pages each. How can I accomplish this?

Since you want to burn a CD, you need several sound files, and GB only exports one file at a time.

from which parts of my code, so I was trying to find some way to

I came up with this:

which I thought would create a string object on the stack and then pop
it off, but this PDF code still confuses Adobe Reader.
Any suggestions on how I can insert stuff into the PDF stream that
doesn't affect Adobe Reader, but lets me distinguish different parts
of the PDF stream?

the best is to insert screenshot directly in keynote. If it's for a paper version save everything as pdf and compile with "combine pdf".

How can I insert an image into a PDF?

I am using Acrobat 9. I created a document in InDesign and now I want to add an image to the PDF without going back to InDesign. How do I accomplish this without using the Stamp tool. The reason why I do not want to use the stamp tool is because when this document is created and sent to someone else to see and print, if they do not change their print setting to print Document and Markings, the images will not show up and I want to make the document "idiot proof." If I use the button feature to create the document, then the message to fill in a form appears at the top and there is no field to fill in.

If you have the image you want to add as a PDF (this works well for me) you can add a button under TOOLS - FORM - Button tool.
Once you have drawn the box, In the options tab go to Layout menu and move to icon only. This will enable you to choose where the source for the image will be. Ensure that you click the advanced tab after you have chosen you file, and have the scale proportionally and fill box. This way you can scale it to any size you want.

I want to be able to easily add our letterhead header and footer jpegs to my Acrobat one time so that I can then have them easily placed and printed on each new original document I receive when I (re)print them as a new (compressed) pdf. If you add a background or water mark, as opposed to a footer/header, you can specify an image to use.
You can also use JavaScript to add a custom toolbar button or menu item so that you can easily add the images to a documant, or even in a batch process, using a variety of methods. Post again if you'd like more information.

If you don't have iTunes you will need to buy the song from the iTunes store and download it that way. If it is a custom track you may be out of luck. The only way to get a song on your device without iTunes involves jailbreaking it.
iOS is set up to prevent people from emailing each other songs, videos, movies, books, etc. This is how Apple got their contracts with the content providers by promising that they would do what ever it takes to prevent people from sharing content that they didn't pay for.

How can I break .avi files into parts so I can burn them onto DVDs...

...and the files will fit? I have asked this before on another discussions board unsuccessfully.
Each .avi file is only 250 - 350mb each. So I should be able to fit two .avi files on one 700MB DVD disk. But have tried to use Roxio Toast 6.0 before, but when I try to burn a file onto a DVD a message comes up saying " There's not enough free space on this disk: 2063612 sectors (3.9 GB) are needed, 359849 sectors (702.9 MB) are available."
But I don't understand this because the actual file that I want to copy onto a DVD is actually only 250 - 350 MB (each). So what I can I do? Please help!
P.S. I have only used Roxio Toast 6.0 to burn something successfully once before, but that was a .bin file and was around 700MB.

In iMovie you create a project and then after that you work on the video files. Files are always grey/faded in a Save As dialogue box.
Try this:
Create a new project, just leave it as My Great Movie. Select a location and click "Create".
File menu > Import
Select the file(s).
If it's a large file then go and make a cup of tea.
Select the clip
Move the Playhead Marker to where you need to split the clip.
Press Apple - T (or go Edit menu > Split Video Clip at Playhead .
Drag the resulting clips to the timeline.
Choose <i|>File menu > Export
Either export as Quicktime or straight to iDVD.
Once you're done delete "My Great Movie" project.

EDIT: Some of the exact terms will differ between iMovie versions. I'm using iMovie HD 6.0.3 which is the final version that will ever work on the iMac G4.

You want to publish the website you created so it appears online, right? Here's what you need to do:
1 - find a hosting service.
2 - get a domain name. Unless you have a MobileMe account you will need a domain name in order to publish a site and have it accessable online.
3 - get the ftp address of your account on the server, put it into iWeb 3's publish to section and publish your site to the server.
There's a hosting service that inlcude a domain name (free registration) with every account. Contact HostExcellence.com about their basic package for $3.95/mo (with a 2 year committment).

I am trying to create a disc of player highlights for a collegiate coach, and I am using movie files downloaded to my hard drive from a DVD created on a PC.

No unfortunately it won't open in quicktime either. It does the same thing that Imovie does, separates it into two file folders audio and video, and if i select video it opens to reveal 8 files that cannot be selected. VIDEO_TS.BUP, VIDEO_TS.IFO, VIDEO_TS.VOB,VTS_01_0.BUP, VTS_01_0.IFO, VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VB, VTS_01_3.VOB. All of which cannot be opened or selected.
Opening it in Idvd and folllowing your suggestion works and I get a format code of NTSC. Is that the same? Thank you for your time and response.

Breaking one track into several fluidly

I did a live recording all into one instrument track using the internal microphone on my Macbook. It sounds great, but I'm wanting to produce a CD from it and track each song individually.
My problem, when I segment the show with garageband and then export each song to itunes, (and yes I was very careful to cut at the exact to the hundredth of a second)there is a 2-3 second pause at the end of of each track while it shows the meter still moving.
I want the entire CD to play as if the listener was sitting there at the show, with the added advantage of being able to skip to the 6th song if they desire.

Break a single pdf into single pdf's

I have a 250 page pdf. each page represents a departments information. Is there a way to break apart that pdf into single pdf's but using part of the file to name the pdf?
for example, if the first report has a title that contains department 123, I could extract that page and name it department 123.
The only want I know how to break a pdf into multiple pages is to use the document / extract pages and select Extract pages as seperate files. But when I do this it uses the name of the exiting file and adds a number to it.
Also, i was just reading up on creating bookmarks. is there a way to set one bookmark and apply that across all other pages?

Re extracting and renaming pages: This is done with a script, but it can
only be done if your pages are consistent and the script can identify the
text that is to be used for the file name. If you wish, you can send me
some sample files by email ([email protected]), or share them somewhere and
post the link here, and I'll let you know if I think it's possible.
Re bookmarks: What do you mean, exactly? You mean you want to copy&paste a
bookmark? No, that's not possible. But bookmarks can also be generated with
a script.

In iPhoto albums may contain photos with the same file name - iPhoto handles that just fine
If you are exporting them to move somewhere else use the sequential file name feature of export to give each file a unique name

There is no "system solution" that turns an e-mail into a PDF file. In other words, it's not a functionality of the iOS. And there are some apps around that say they turn some documents into PDF files, but in every app that does that, I've never seen one that does so for the entire e-mail itself, but only for the "text" of the e-mail (which won't include the "to" and "from").
BUT, you can get part of the e-mail through a screen shot and you can get more of the e-mail by going "portrait" style and not "landscape". Then after getting the screen shot, you can turn that into a PDF file by those apps I was referring to up above,
