How can I burn Audio-CD's and .cue files on my iMac.

Since a few months I stepped over from Windows to iMac, I am satisfied I did that, but now I am at a point that I regret it !!
I tried for the first time to burn an Audio-CD on my mac, first with the help of the programs BURN and SimplyBurn, but I did not succeed to get a Audio CD that also worked on my Stereo set. Also trying to burn a .cue file was a dissaster.
I also tried Finder and iTunes, well the with Finder burned CD did not play on my Stereo, iTunes did not burn my music, maybe because it was not downloaded from iTunes, because the burn entry was not in the menu bar.
I also went to an help desk, but the gave me some unclear answers.
So you can imagine I'm very disapointed, not succeding to burn a simple CD or .cue file, right now I'm happy I did not get rid of my Windows machine.
Please a solution for this "problem" and what kind of burn programs can you advise I should use, and that I stay in the Apple communtiy and not go back to Windows ??
JMGD.

Thanks for your answer. But I tried to burn an image with the program BURN yesterday, without succes. The file I tried to burn was a 350MB big file to a CD, BURN told me the file was 1.5TB big !!!! and did not burn it.
I burned it on my Windows machine with NERO and that worked !
Also today Itried to burn a normal Mp3 album to disk with BURN, without result, I got an answer from BURN telling me "One of the volumes on this medium is still in use" not nowing what this means !!

  • How can I transfer older Claris Works and AppleWorks files to new iMac.  I use Pages, and MacWord, Excel, etc. as well.

    March 20, 2013
I have a new iMac using Pages and Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. for mac.  I'd like to transfer older ClarisWorks and AppleWorks files to my new computer.  Can this be done?

Additionally, Numbers can read/open spreadsheets. However, anything done in the drawing/painting part cannot be read by any application - you would have to export those (on the old machine) as a .jpg or pdf. You could then open them, but no longer edit or change the content.

How can I recover my purchased books and PDF files in my library?

you can re-download all purchases from the iBooks store at any time. PDF's you will need to have kept the PDF on your hard drive or on a service such as Dropbox, then you can re-import them into iTunes.

  • How can i burn an ISO movie and have it watchable?

Hello! I have a client who has a movie file as an .ISO for some reason. How can i turn that into a watchable format and put it on DVD? Thanks!

An ISO file is basically just a disk image, so much depends on how it was encoded.
What do you see when you double-click the file?
If it is TS folder it will contain VOB files etc. These can be converted to a DV stream for iMovie using mpegStreamclip (just drop the entire folder into the Streamclip window and select what conversion you want):
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/mpegstreamclip.html
which is free, but you must also have the Apple mpeg2 plugin :
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/mpeg2/
    which is a mere $20.
Another possibility is to use DVDxDV:
    http://www.dvdxdv.com/NewFolderLookSite/Products/DVDxDV.overview.htm
    which costs $25.

  • How can I transfer document ie word and exel files between my iPad and my laptop

How can I transfer files ie Word and Exel between my iPad and my laptop.

It depends on what app(s) that you are using on your iPad that you want to transfer the documents between - without and app the documents cannot be saved (apart from as email attachments), as unlike 'normal' computers the iPad doesn't have a file system and files/documents have to be stored/associated with an app. Once you've got an app then, depending on what it is, transfer might be done via the file sharing section at the bottom of the iPad's apps tab when connected to your computer's iTunes, via wifi, email attachments, Dropbox etc.
Documents To Go supports (http://itunes.apple.com/au/app/documents-to-go-office-suite/id317117961?mt=8) supports both Word and Excel files and how to transfer to/from it is described on this page http://support.dataviz.com/support.srch?docid=14497&pid=198

  • How can I read windows comments in a JPEG file on my iMac

I have 120, 000 photos, many with comments added in Windows Explorer, but while they are somewhere in the file data, they are not in ASCII coding so I cannot find any easy way to read them on my iMAC.  At the moment I have to use my Windows PC to read the comments while building slide shows on the iMac, which is not ideal.
The Ideal solution would be a patch for Finder so that this data showed in the comments pane of the info window, but I expect that is asking to much. While I am on the subject of Finder, I also miss the ability to sort photos by 'Date Taken' which I cannot see any way to do in Finder.

    Thanks Terence,
I found a piece of software called 'Reveal' in a related answer and using that I can see that the Windows Comments and Tags (Mac keywords) are in the EXIF metadata, with Tags 0x9c9c and 0x9c9e respectively.  Reveal shows the ASCII values of the characters, and I now remember writing a Visual Basic programme about 15 years ago just for my own amusement that unpacked this data and made it readable.  I seem to remember that there were also C++ routines at that time that purported to do the same thing, but I did not have a C++ compiler.
I take your  point about the editors, but I am new to the iMAC and still have a lot to learn.  I essentially have three new photo editors/organisers (iPhoto, Adobe Lightroom,  and Aperture) to learn plus Adobe Photoshop Elements in it's MAC guise,  and I am not prepared to use them seriously until I understand what they are doing. In the past I have not found any of the organisers able to cope with the number of pictures that I have - they just go away and huff and puff for hours or days  before crashing, if I let them lose on the complete set.
    Thanks for your help though.

  • How can I burn dvds of videos and pictures on my iphone?

I have a PC and would like to find out how I can burn a cd with video and pictures taken with my iPhone.  Also, will the video be in HD on the disc that I create?  Thanks!

You will need to have those files available for the process on your computer because this is a task which cannot be accomplished from the iPhone. You will need a disk burning utility on your computer (Roxio's software comes to mind as a possibility). The quality of the output is entirely dependent upon the nature of the original files and the capabilities of the software application. They can be written as a data disk or, in the case of the video, written as a movie so long as it is an unprotected file (from your own capture, for example). This entire operation has to be worked through on your computer. There is a minimal degree to which you can edit your captured video in the iPhone (3GS or 4) but it does not compare to the scope that would be available to you in a proper editing application on the computer.

  • Re: how can record video+audio on j2me and java also?

You can capture video similar to the way you capture audio or images.
Player p = Manager.createPlayer("capture://video");After you have the player you can get the RecordControl and VideoControl
    recordControl = (RecordControl) p.getControl("RecordControl");
videoControl = (VideoControl) (p.getControl("VideoControl"));You can get the content type from the record control. Use rc.startRecord(); to begin the record process.
There are some steps you will need to fill in, such as prefetching, setting the display location, etc. The snippets above should be enough for you to start your research though.

  • Just subscribed to InDesign CSS - problem: how can I open old Pagemaker 5 and 6 Files?

Files are not being recognized. Have read  there might be a download of past PM apps available. Any confirmations?

Furthermore, consider this as your last wake up call!!!!
Pagemaker development and support was discontinued at least a decade ago.
At this point you should go through and convert any PageMaker content you think you will ever need to access since at some point, even InDesign 8 (CS6) won't run on future operating systems versions.

  • How can I make an iPad slide show from files on my iMac

I am a graphic designer who wants to use my iPad as a portfolio.
1.) Must I create the slide show on the internet?
2.) Is there a way to transfer the files to the iPad and use an iPad portfolio slide show.
The basic problem is getting the images from the iMac to the iPad. I can take it from there.
Can I use same technique with my iPhone?
I want to be able to pull out the iPad or iPhone and let prospective clients see what I do well.

you could try looking at this-
    http://ipod.about.com/od/ipad/qt/sync-photos-to-ipad.htm
    Basically
    >open itunes
    >go to ipad device screen
    >photos tab
    >you should get the option to sync folders containing pictures from your mac
    >select the folders you wish to sync
    >hit sync button

  • My Ipad 2 external speakers does not work and headphones has popping sound. This all occured at the same time as my Iphone and Ipod headphones only played mono (no, the "mono" option is not on). How can there be audio issue for all these devices?

My IPad 2 external speaker does not work and the original headphones have popping sound when used. This all occurred at the same time as my IPhone and IPod headphones only plays mono (and no, the "mono" option is not on) with the original headphones, as well as, other headphones tested.  How can there be audio issue for all these devices at the same time?
As you may have noted from the list of Apple devices I own, I believed in the Apple and the products it was producing; but it is hard to believe from my experience and the other voices within the Apple Community that we are all experiencing the same hardware issues. Especially since I recently, I upgraded to an IPhone 4g (no, my faith in IPhone 5 series is very little) and is experiencing the same audio problem as described above. So now, I am off to the Apple store again to be told that it’s a hardware problem on new IPhone. Really? Apple, what happen to the pride in the product you were producing?

Everyone does things a little differently. I love to "jam " along with iTunes ( or old Lp's) . Always have. That's where/how I've learned to play .
I'm sure leonieDF is giving a proper way to jam along on a keyboard with an iTune. He blows my mind all the time with what he knows. Nuff respects to him !
What I do is make a GB project I call "Jam With". I'll make several new tracks that are blank. Just has a few instruments named in the blank tracks. You can change those per song ...
Because I'm not concerned about changing the pitch / key.... of the iTune or the tempo ... I can simply play along with it.
    Peace,
    P. Dreadie

  • How can I separate audio and clips?

How can I separate audio and clips?

I guess you mean "audio and video clips".
Then select the clip including both audio and video (while in the timeline) and press cmd-L: this unlinks the stereo pair from its video. If you want to work on each audio channel separately press alt-L while the stereo pair is selected.
