How can I burn CDs that will play on my car stereo CD player?

How can I burn CDs that will play on my car stereo CD player?

Make sure the format when you burn your playlist is one your car's CD player will recognize. Typically mp3 songs are readable now but when in doubt, burn an audio cd. Yes, you will get less songs per cd (as compared to mp3 formatted one) but you are guaranteed the cd will work in any place.  Most cars have it written on the radio somewhere what formats it can read for CDs.. Good luck!

  • Can no longer burn cds that will play in my car's cd player

Yesterday I tried to burn a replacement CD for one that got damaged. The disc was one I created in Itunes a couple of years ago. It won't play in either my sound system's cd player or my car's. The only thing that has changed is the version of Itunes (current) and my OS which is now 10.6.8. I also bought an album from Wofgang's Vault, and got identical results. I tried to burn in both Itunes and straight to the CD burner. I tried audio format vs MP3. I tried a windows machine with a different CD burner, the same machine actually that I was burning Itunes discs on originally. Same results. Is this a Rights Management issue? Has something changed recently in this regard? How do I make CD's that I can play in the car?
    Thanks for your help

CDs I burn from my itunes 10 on my macbook with snow lepard will not play in the regular cd player.  How do I burn Cds that will pay in a reg old cd player?

When the computer was new, I had the same issue I have now.  It was new and I could not burn to play on a reg cd player. Today, I can not burn to play on a reg cd player. Inbetween, I could not burn to play on a reg cd player.  I keep giving up and then trying months later.
I have recently made the cds that play on the computer.  I have also tried in the last month to make a dvd copy, it played.  I have gone to people's homes and tried the cd's burned in my computer. They are not recognized.  This last round I have only used the cd-r but have tried many others in the past. I am running out of money to keep buying different brands, kinds, etc.  I figured it must be my lac of knowledge and am trying to get some new here.
    Sincerely,

  • How can i convert a quick time movie file to a cd that will play in a car stereo?

how can i convert a quick time movie file to a cd that will play in a car stereo?

In quicktime, I would try File -> Export -> Audio. It will create an audio file. Then drop it onto your playlist into  iTunes. Burn the list from itunes with File -> Burn to disk    and then select Audio CD.
If you have Quicktime  7 it should be easier and export to AIFF directly

  • How do I burn dvd that will play in dvd player

How do I burn a DVD that will play in DVD player for my TV?  Example, iPhoto images, Utube images, etc.

If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides  themes from iDVD 5-7.  The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:
This shows the iDVD contents in the iLife 09 disc via Pacifist:
You then can upgrade from iDVD 7.0.3 to iDVD 7.1.2 via the updaters at the Apple Downloads webpage.

  • Can't copy iTunes or Library music to CD that will play in my car stereo

I am having problems burning purchased iTunes (and my own CDs in my Music Library) to a CD that I can use in my car stereo.
I've read the articles on how to do this, but it's not working for me.
The purchased CD is in the AAC format as are my own CDs that I loaded into the Music Library. Audio CD is selected in the Preferences>Advanced>Burning tab. I'm using CD-R music CDs by TDK. These CDs have worked in my car stereo without a problem (when I've done an exact disc copy of a CDs I've purchased at various stores). The car stereo is a factory installed multi-disc CD player in a 2005 Lexus.
Before trying to burn a CD in iTunes, I create a separate playlist and copy the songs I want to burn to that playlist and then select the Burn Disc button. The burning process works just fine. However, when I look at the contents of the burned CD, it only contains 1KB files (one for each song track). When I look at the properties of the files on the CD, it says the files are to be opened w/iTunes. Well, that totally defeats the purpose...my car obviously doesn't have iTunes.
Everyone else I talk to says they just hit the Burn disc button and they get a CD that works in their car. What am I doing wrong???
I've also tried re-importing the burned CD (w/the 1kb files) using the AIFF format and then burning a different CD w/those newly AIFF imported songs, but I get the same result (and waste another CD)...1kb shortcuts...
Oh, yeah, and I have TWO Dell computers (both w/the newest version of iTunes (7.0.2.16). I tried burning a CD on BOTH computers but got the SAME result (nada) on both.
From searching on the message boards, no one else seems to have this problem...what am I missing??

    Nevermind...apparently I have no clue what I'm doing...it works...

I have an '09 macbook and want to select specific pictures to put on a disc that will play on my televisions dvd player.  How do I do that?

OM gosh!  After working on this for 2 days, by golly, I got it!  I used Free App DVD Creator.  I had first tried to burn the disc in PAL Format.....wrong format for the good 'ol USA.  After a little research I learned that the USA format is NTS.....so I chose that and it worked!  I now have a disc I can play on our dvd player on the TV.  Thanks all for above assistance.  Problem now solved!

  • How to make a DVD that will play on a DVD player if I don't have iDVD

How do I make a DVD that will play on a DVD player if I don't have iDVD?

First you will need a video DVD authoring applicaiton like iDVD.  If you have iDVD export the slideshow out of iPhoto as a QT movie file via the Export button in the lower toolbar.  For iPhoto 9.4.3 and earlier select Size = Medium or Large. For iPhoto 9.5 and later selct 480p.
Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the exported QT movie file into the open iDVD window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best quality video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
If iDVD was not preinstalled on your Mac you'll have to obtain it by purchasing a copy of the iLife 09 disk from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com: ilife 09: Software or eBay.com.  Why, because iDVD (and iWeb) was discontinued by Apple over a year ago.
Why iLife 09 instead of 11?
If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides  themes from iDVD 5-7.  The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.

  • How to convert to file that will play in quicktime

I just imported and edited a .mov and mp3 audio file in logic express. Now, how can I save this into a type of file that will play outside of Logic?

What I meant was bouncing whatever you want to play in Quicktime - you can bounce a whole song (digital mixdown) or you can solo a track/mute tracks that you don't want included and then use the cycle bar to determine a length to mix down.
When you hit the 'bounce' button or choose it from the menu you'll have a series of options to choose from - whether you want a compressed file (MP3, AAC) or uncompressed (wav of aiff) and so on so you can choose the appropriate type. If you choose the desktop for the destination of the file you can drag it over the Quicktime icon in your dock (if its not there you can put it there) and it will play in Quicktime.

  • How to burn iTunes audio book to CD that will play in my car

I purchased two audio books from the iTunes music store. I have no intention of sitting at my computer for twelve hours listening to the books. I intend to listen to the books on my car CD player during long road trips. When I try to convert the files I get a message that says that they can't be converted because they are protected files. How can I play them on a CD in my car?

I THINK my iTunes preferences were already set to "Audio CD" on my first, failed attempt. For this failed attempt I simply hit the burn icon in the upper right of iTunes. When I followed your advise my preferences were already set as you suggested but this time I used one of the pull-down menus along the top to select "burn playlist to ....". This worked perfectly. Problem solved. Thanks for your help.

  • Trouble Burning CDs that Actually Play on a CD Player

How do I burn a CD, using iTunes purchased music, that will actually play on a stereo system? It seems that songs purchased on iTunes and then burned as an Audio OR mp3 CD won't play on a CD players. Any ideas?
    Thanks!
    ~Kate

Check your CD burn speed. Often CD players can't read CDs burnt at the higher speeds. I try not to exceed 8X or 16X when I don't know what type of player the CD will end up in. You can change the burn speed by going to the "Edit" tab in iTunes, then select "Preferences", then "Advanced" and finally "Burning". I'm sure you probably know this, but make sure you're burning audio CDs unless your player can read MP3 discs.

  • How can I ensure embedded video will play from in Captivate 7 projects?

Hello guys, Evan here (formerly RiskLMSspecialist). I have a couple projects recently that I published from Captivate 7 into just simple SWF. They were set to flash player version 10, and a couple of my peers are able to view the trainings without any problems, but one other, my supervisor, plays the presentations and finds that none of the videos (imported as event videos) will play in Internet Explorer. Is this merely going to require her updating the flash player plugin for I.E.? Is there a way to ensure that they will always play? I only worry that of the 1000+ other employees that need to ultimately view this training will have a similar ratio (1/3) who have not updated their browsers and will unknowingly be missing content. Thanks.

People often forget that in the typical ADDIE process (and it should be an iterative process) the 'I' stands for Implementation.  Part of this phase is making sure that your content can actually BE rolled out successfully to your target audience.  And since as I mentioned ADDIE should be iterative (repeating phases) then the first time you come around to the Implementation phase is likely to be somewhere early in the project lifecycle when you are finding out what is feasible to create.  At that point you should be finding out what level of technology your target audience possesses.  Failure to find this out early can sink or at least hobble the success of any e-learning project.

  • Possible to burn CD that will play continuously (repeat)

Through iTunes, I bought music that is supposed to calm my dog. I burned it to a CD that I intended to put in my CD player and have it play over and over while I am away from home. The first CD I burned stops when it gets to the end of the CD. I don't have a fancy CD player, just a simple portable Sony boombox. Is there is a way to burn the CD in iTunes so that it will keep playing over and over? Or is that a function (which I don't have) of the boombox? I was hoping someone had an answer so I don't blow my seven-burn limit on experiments.

They'd be no way to get the CD itself to play on repeat just by burning it, you'd have to have a specific function on your CD player to play the CD on repeat. If you are going to play this CD a lot for your dog then maybe you should considering upgrading CD player, or just playing your burned CD in iTunes itself, as there is a function to play on repeat right in the program

  • New version iTunes burns cds that do not work in car

I've burned some cds with iTunes 5.0.1 and some CD's dont play at all in my car stereo, and those that do have skipping problems, and noticeable noises can be heard as if the cd player is having trouble reading the disk (but the disks are clean and unscratched). I have used an older version of iTunes to burn on the same brand of CD-R in the past and they've worked flawlessly on my car stereo. I have only experienced this problem with the new version of iTunes. How can i fix this, or is this a bug. Thank you for your time.

I'm having the same problem! Granted, I have never burned a CD and played it in my own car. But I have burned CD's for others and it works. I remember fitting about 50 tracks on it, so I beleive I burned it as MP3, and the people I burned them for have cars that play mp3 files. However, my own car does not play mp3's. So last night I burned a CD as audio cd and it does not work. I'm not sure what version of Itunes I'm using. I remember there was an update yesterday but I did not download it. You think the update was a fix?
