The iPhone 5 was also discontinued last year. The 5S is an excellent phone. You may still be able to find a 64 gig new.

    No, it is contract-free (meaning no 2-year contract that you are locked into), but it is not unlocked. Here is what the Apple iPhone 6 site says about the T-Mobile contract-free device:

    You can ONLY buy from the Apple store in your country, if there is one.
    Apple will not ship out of the country.
    You can buy from the supported carriers Viettel, VinaPhone

    You can call them to see if they have some in stock.  The last time I visited an Apple Store they did have unlocked iPhones in the store, but stores inventory vary.
    After looking at this it seems that they do not have any in stock at the Fifth Avenue Store.

    You should call Apple but you should get an email from Apple. I got one a few minutes ago and this is what they said about AppleCare+ :
