How can I bypass the previous owners password on my iPad?
I bought a second hand iPad 4th gen the other day. It looked to be ready for me to set up the iPad, but when I got homw to try it, there was a screen saying, "This iPad is currently linked to an Apple ID (S*****@hotmail.com). Sign in with the Apple ID that was used to set up this iPad." So my question is, how can I get by this? I don't have the sellers information, so I can't contact him.

I sympathize with you. I'm in the same predicament right now. The person I purchased my iPad from won't respond to my queries. Everyone online will act like you are a thief. If half of them used their brains for a minute, maybe they could come up with one of many scenarios where you would be legitimately locked out of an iPad you legally purchased. In my case, the previous owner left all their personal items on the iPad and I went to erase all contents. It asked me for the Apple ID, I figured it was asking to return checked out books or something. Second time it didn't ask me and reformatted the iPad, but now I'm stuck at activation.
To answer JimHdk's question, Apple doesn't even show you the full email address. It's literally shown as S******@hotmail.com so you can't email that person.
This is a horrible idea on Apple's part. They should have made it painstakingly clear that you can't even "reformat" and activate the iPad without this ID. Especially since iOS7 is relatively young and no previous version of iOS had this feature. This will hurt legitimate users more than thieves. Even if, from all the people affected, only 10% are legitimate users, that's still a huge number. Apple should give us some other way to resolve this issue.

What you're dealing with is the activation lock, where it's required for the person that sets up the iPad to 'release' it to be used by someone else.
There's no hack or crack. There's no assistance anyone here can give you beyond the suggestions we already have.
Use your imagination. Or use the ipad as a pretty new paperweight. -

How can I remove the previous owners apple i.d. from my app store?
Just recently, after 8 months of ownership, my App Store has started to cancel my updates in favour of asking the computers previous owner to log into the app store to update. Is there any way I can remove their account from my App Store? It's getting annoying!
Were there apps that the previous owner bought from the Mac App Store on the Mac when you got it? They should have been removed before passing the Mac to you. At this point those are pirated apps and they can only be updated using the previous owners Apple ID. You should remove all of them from the Mac and buy them using your own Apple ID. Probably not what you wanted to hear.

I bought a phone from a person on ebay. the phone was working fine until i locked myself out (forgot my passcode), upon restoring the iphone through itunes, it asks for an apple id for the person who activated the iphone. I the seller doesnt know the information and neither do i. Is there any way I can get the owners email that activated it? The previous owner doesn't need to give you their credentials. They can release the device via Find My iPhone on iCloud.com as per the instructions in the link I posted in my initial response: Find My iPhone Activation Lock: Removing a device from a previous owner
If the previous owner is not present
Make sure the device is powered on and connected to a Wi-Fi or cellular network. Then contact the previous owner and ask them to follow these steps to remove the device from their account:
Sign in to their iCloud account at www.icloud.com/find.
Click All Devices to open a list of devices linked to their account, then select the device to be removed.
Click the Erase button to erase all content and settings from the device. When prompted, don't enter a phone number or message. Click Next until the device is erased.
When the erase is complete, click "Remove from Account" to remove the device from the account.
After the device is erased and removed from the account, you can proceed with the device setup process.
If the person you bought it from refuses to do this, I would assume the device is stolen and I would demand a refund and/or contact the authorities. -

Login to the app store with YOUR ID. You can't use the app store without an Apple ID. If there are apps on the phone that were purchased with the original owners ID, you do NOT own them. The owner had no legal right to give them to you and they are permanently tied to the ID that was used to purchase them.
