How can I change the 'Check-in' trigger for contribution step in Workflow

We have created a Criteria workflow where the workflow is triggered based on a custom field called 'Publish Status'. During check-in, when a content author sets 'Publish Status' = 'Sent to Review', the content is sent to Reviewer's Workflow Assignments. The client however wants to be able do this from the 'Update Metadata screen' i.e., trigger the workflow and send the document to review from the Update Metadata screen and not just check-in screen.
The workflow scenario that client wants is as follows:
- Author checks-in content
- Author previews content using custom Preview widget from Content Info screen. This is custom code written that gives author the ability to preview their content within the context of the portal where UCM content is rendered.
- Author is satisfied with their content.
- Author should just to go 'Update metadata' and set 'Publish Status = Sent to Review' and this should send the content to Reviewers' workflow assignments.
The problem here is that currently the trigger to send content to Reviewer is only SET by the Check-In screen. How do we change this so it can be triggered directly from the 'Update Metadata' screen and does not require 'Check-in'. The client is right here in that if there is already some checked-in content in UCM that they want to send to review now, why should they have to go to 'Check-out' screen to get to 'Check-in' screen to trigger workflow, why can't they avoid all this and just go to Update Metadata.
We thought of using Basic Workflow as well, but that does not solve our problem, since once the content ID is selected in the basic workflow, the contribution step still requires user to Check-out/Check-In content. Can anyone suggest a way to send content for review by using 'Update Metadata' screen.

Update triggered workflows are not an uncommon requirement. However, they are a small customization. We have standard and supported components that will do this and would be happy to chat with you more about them. Please let me know.
Alternatively, it is a fairly straightforward customization if you wanted to build it yourself.

Can anyone let me know that how can the Value of the Lookup be changed in the Organization ? Like when we click on the Lookup of the Organization we see the names of the companies with Radio Boxes and we select a Company. If I want another value to be added beside the company then How I need to do that ? eg:

Org3: com4

With what you are referring to, there is no lookup required.
When you log into your administration console, you can create a new organization:
Organizations --> Create.
After you create, there will be more than the default organizations.
However, if you want to create a new organization type (Company, Department, etc) you can do this by:
Go to your Design Console --> Administration --> Lookup
Search for: Lookup.Organization.Type
Add a new value.
Save your formOnce you are done, go and create a new organization like before, and in the drop-down, that type will appear.

Every time I boot my system, my filesystem is checked. Since it takes some time, I decided to change the /etc/rc.sysinit script so the filesystem check is performed every 100 boots (or once a month). I wanted to save the needed data ("boots counter" and the last filesystem check date) to a file placed in /var, but I got some error message saying that the / filesystem has been mounted read-only.

1 - checked in first round (use for root)
2 - checked in second round (use for other partitions)

You may change your Apple ID to any email address that is not already used as another Apple ID, or that is not already associated with another Apple ID.
In other words, if I have an Apple ID [email protected], and have alternate email addresses of [email protected] and [email protected], none of them may be used by me or anyone else for an Apple ID, Rescue Email, alternate email, or anything Apple-related.
If the Apple ID link above indicates your email is already in use then it is. Use https://iforgot.apple.com, select Forgot your Apple ID? and provide the information requested. If the email address is one you created and can still access, you may be able to retrieve it. If it is one someone else created, you will not.

Go to "Setting"; scroll down to the 4th box for "iCloud"; You need to turn on you "Mail" option in the "iCloud" settings.
Then,
Go into "Settings", scroll down to "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"; on the left panel, scroll down to the 4th box; there you'll find the "Default Account" settings.

My specific requirement is i have an input field on the screen and i want reflect that value as the column label for one of the column in the alv table. I have used he above code with slight modification in the MODIFYVIEW method of the view since it is a process after input. The component gets activated without any errors but while run time i get an error stating
"The following error text was processed in the system CDV : Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible."
i have checked in debugging and the error occured at the statement :
lr_column = lr_column_settings->get_column( 'CURRENT_YEAR' ).Please can you provide me an alternative for my requirement or correct me if i have done it wrong.

I found it myself how to do it. The error says that it is not able to find the reference object i.e it is asking us to refer to the table. The following piece of code will solve this problem. Have to implement this in WDDOMODIFYVIEW method of the view. This thing works comrades enjoy...

I would assume that the website sends negative number with a special CSS class code or uses JavaScript to to change the style afterward.
Did it ever work in Firefox?

Suddenly from yesterday my quality of yotube videos gone from 480p(also a bigger player size) to 360p (smaller player size - the same like on the picture) . This is an option set in the browser, so it would not effect your other browsers. To change it, go to youtube.com, select a movie you would like to watch, then click the gear icon at the bottom. It will then show the current settings for speed and quality of the movie. To change the setting, simply click the "360p" and it will then give you the other definition options. See screenshot if these directions do not make sense.

Hi,
I checked your accoutn and found an active subscription. If you wish to reactivate its recurring payment settings using your new payment details, you can easily do so by:
1. Sign in to your account.
2. On the left of the page, click your existing subscriptions, then next to the subscription you want to change, click Settings.
3. Click Change payment method.
4. Select a stored payment method from the Select new payment method drop-down list, then click Save Settings.
5. To add a new payment method, click Add payment method. Select the payment method type and enter the details. Click Save.
However, if you no longer wish to activate the subscription's payment settings, you can easily make a new purchase to add the new payment details.

When I purchase ITunes music, and it is a song from a Greatest Hits album, the Year of the song shows the year the CD was released and not the year the song was released (i.e. a song may be from 1986, but the Greatest Hits album was released in 1999, so my songs in ITunes show 1999). So, I go into each of those songs and change it to the year that I want to be displayed. As long as I don't exit out of ITunes, it will show the year that I changed it to (i.e. the 1986 year in this case). But if I exit out of ITunes and then return to ITunes, the year reverts back to 1999. The same happens if I change the genre of a song from, say 'Pop' to 'Alternative', it will revert back the next time I log in.
Oddly enough, as soon as I right-click on that song to change it back, the year/genre that I had entered returns.
How can I make it so my changes are permanently displayed as I want them? This is pretty annoying when I try to find a song on my Ipod under a certain genre, but it doesn't appear in that genre because the incorrect information gets synched to the Ipod.

Make sure that these two options in Edit > Preferences > Store are turned off:
