When I turn on do not disturb in my iphone 5, then when someone
call there is auto-reply that “the number you dial is busy now”. How can I
change this auto- reply message? Could I change to “the number you dial is
power off” ?

What do you want to do? If you turn on Do Not Disturb, this is the result - your phone is busy. Turn off Do Not Disturb or allow those callers you want to get through in Settings > Do Not Disturb > Allow Calls From.

I am assuming you have an iPhone? have you gone into Settings>Messages and updated everything there, if so I would have thought an option would then be present on the iPad.

as angielynrhose said the font colour is normally defined by the theme, I've had themes in the past that produce white on white which is obviously useless, simply find another theme you like and install it, I've used many from Tehkseven in the past without issue !

You have not told us which version of iOS you are running.
If your iPhone is reasonably current with its iOS, you can do Settings > Do Not Disturb = "Off"

Ipad will connect no problem to other networks.

First thing you need I think is to get your iMac connected to the Internet.
Shut down your iMac and you iPad. Then power off your router. Wait 30 seconds and power up the router.
After the router indicates that it is connected to the Internet then start up your iMac and see if it connects. If the iMac connects to the Internet then your iPad should too.
If this power up sequence doesn't work you'll have to dig into the router setup to make sure it is working properly.
