How can I change my Apple ID into my MobileMe address

Just had a realyl funny chat with the iCloud support. totally useless...
My situation: I already had an Apple ID for iTunes etc. Now I registered for iCloud and wanted to use it also as eMail Service with an @me eMail Adress. Registered for iCloud, was asked to select a nice @me email adress, everything worked fine. But: My Aplle ID is stil lthe email of my "old" email provider. Woudnt make sense if I switch to the @me Adress. So lets chage it. But does not work.
Now it seems Apple wants me to maintain my gmail account, not allowing me to change my Apple ID into the new @me.com email address. Can this be true?
Does anyone know what I can do?

Same problem here, typed a wrong adress, was to eager and missed the fill in after @. So my emailadress is @me.com A not excisting emailadress

If you are going to change your AppleID login you will need to log out and back in on all your devices. Turn off 'Find My iPhone/iMac/iPod' first or you will find yourself unable to sign out and be stuck.

If the contacts on icloud.com are correct, go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts off (if it is on) and choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted. I have this question too, as I finally changed my Apple ID from ancient unchecked email to current one. When I go to delete iCloud account with old Apple ID, it gives me a message that says all my photos are going to be deleted and that freaks me out, so I have not deleted it.

Also, when you delete the account you will be asked if you want to keep or delete the iCloud data from the device. You have to delete the account: Settings>iCloud...scroll down...delete account. Try changing your ID, online, back to your old ID, then delete the iCloud account on your phone. Once done, change your ID back to the new one you want to use.

You don't have to do anything with the first iPod that you don't use anymore. If you are planning on keeping it, put in a drawer in your house and forget about it.
You don't need a second account to use with the new iPod. I use one Appl e ID and iTunes library for two iPods, and two iPad. I have different content on all four devices. You can select exactly what you want to sync to each device and it can be different content on all devices.

If you simply just changed the email associated with that appleid you can just delete and Re-download the apps.
You can verify the above step by going to the App Store on device > Updates>Purchased - if you see the app there just delete it from the home screen and redownload from the purchased section
Now if you got rid of that account entirely, you will have to delete and re-purchase on your new account

Did you take a look at the new feature Apple - iOS 8 - Family Sharing ?

Up to now, songs bought from iTunes could only be played by the Apple ID that has been used to buy them.
If you set up Family Sharing, your daughter can also play your songs and use the same contact info as before.
If you don't want to do that, sync the contact info to the address book on your computer, and sync the info back, using iTunes:
Sync your iPhone, iPad and iPod with iTunes using USB
If the iPad already has her Apple ID and contact info on it, restore the phone from the latest iPad backup.

All app purchases are permanently tied to their Apple ID. You will have to delete and repurchase the apps with a new ID. I would recommend wiping that iPad and setting it up with another ID.
