I no longer use it, and it is causing my name to appear in Google search results even though I have my name set to "private" under my settings.

Your profile will always be there; you cannot delete it, but you can delete all entries or set them so nothing will show but your user name. Just go to your page and click on "edit profile and privacy".
As for your username: unfortunately, that cannot be changed. You can read many other discussions regarding this subject if you check "more like this" in the right column.

I don't think you can remove your email. If you are concerned about privacy make sure you have it set so that you are the only one who can view it. You do this under the privacy settings under Your Stuff - Profile " If you want to change your email you can go here to make changes.

Click on my name and you will see how much of your profile is viewable. It is really up to you how much is there, delete as much from the profile as you can. I've yet to have my data "misused" here by Apple.
But it won't do any good to delete your old alias as it has already been indexed by Google, as you've discovered. Even if they deleted your old alias from here it woud still be visible in a Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. search. You would have to ask every search engine to also delete all of your information, which they probably won't do short of a court order.

iCloud from an account perspective is associated with the AppleID. Unless you have the password, there's nothing you can do to modify it.
As suggested, you just want to create your own and reassocited the iPad with your new one. You will lose data and purchased apps, however. Basically, you will be starting from scratch.

To change the ID you have to delete the account, provide the password, then sign back in with the new ID. If it isn't accepting the password, do the following...
If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

This is the first time I have ever replied to a question on here but I actually know this because I just figured it out for myself.
On the apple tv go to settings>computers
Then turn off home sharing.
Now go back to the main menu and open computers.
When you do it will give the option to use the previous home sharing settings or to use a new apple id.

Use Boot Camp Assistant to remove the partition containing Windows. You do this from the Mac OS X partition and do not need to boot into Windows.

Now to make sure that we are on the same page, as long as you have followed the steps from the original article that you came from then you should be good. Those steps were to sign out of iTunes with the AOL account and then sign back in to walk you through converting it to an email address as the username. As long as when looking at your Apple ID that is signed into iTunes, you see an email address then you have made the change. If you are still stuck then I would recommend that you contact Apple before the deadline of March 31st so you will not have any issues.

You must add the itunes redirect tag within the <channel> element of your feed. Its doubtful that a 3rd party app would support this tag, but its possible. If you have access to the actual xml file, you can add the redirect feed manually using any text editor.

The itunes redirect tag simply tells iTunes users where your podcast has been moved to, and updates their local settings accordingly. The next time they visit your podcast, they will go directly to your new feed specified in the redirect tag.
For non-iTunes users, the itunes redirect tag doesn't help. Thats where the 301 redirect comes in, however it is a bit complicated depending on the type of host your podcast is on. If you don't want to tackle the 301 redirect, keep reading.
One method of updating non-iTunes users...if you can still post an episode to your old feed, then one option is to post a text file that directs people to your new feed. You could also post a brief audio clip stating the same thing. Leave this episode up for a couple of weeks and then kill your old feed.

How can I change the way mail delete works?

Before we "upgraded" to Mountain Lion, if I deleted a message, it would automatically go to the next message, no matter what. Now if I mark a message as unread, then go to the next message, then decide to delete that, it would automatically go to the next (third) message in the list. Now, after deleting the second message, it pops up to the first message instead of going to the third. It does this if the third message is read or unread, no difference. How can I stop this. It is MOST aggravating.
BTW, it is saying my "product" is a macbook with OS 10.6.8, but it really 10.8.3

I've recently had an upgrade to 10.8.5 and now have this problem too.
The behaviour seems to be:
I select an email, part way through my inbox, read it and delete / file it.
If there is an unread email above the just deleted one (adjacent or way above and off the page) then the next message shown will be the one above the one I moved.
If there is no unread email above then the next message shown will be the one below.
I usually sort in date (oldest up) and work down from some point to the recent ones. Occasionally I'll try and work through all the mail from a given sender. This change in behaviour makes both these use cases hard work.
If I'm trying to deal with the easy mails in a short gap this slows me down. I know the unread ones are there, I don't need mail to be semi-smart at me.
I've tried with com.apple.mail IgnoreSortOrderWhenSelectingAfterDelete set to zero and to one and the behaviour is the same. Anyone know of a switch to get the simple "working through a list in logical order" behaviour back?
