How can i change so a program autostart on every user?

Hey
I have install a program with ARD on 90 macs, then i want the program to autostart when the user login.
So how can i change so a program autostart on every user?
Imac   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Workgroup Manager should make this a fairly simple task.
First, use it to create a new group containing all of the users you specify. Then, for the group, go to the Login Items preference, and set the program to start up there.
Workgroup Manager, if you don'rt already have it installed, is part of the Server Admin Tools, a free download from Apple.

    When I receive and answer e-mail, the correspondence is usually "nested" "behind"  the original message, and the number of replies, etc. are indicated with a number next to the original message in the inbox.  How can I change the mail settings so that every reply is listed individually in the inbox instead of having them "stacked" behind the original message.  I'm afraid I might accidentially overlook messages the way they are handled now.

    Somebody here will correct me if I'm wrong, but what you have to do is go into Settings, Mail/Contacts/Calendars and under Mail, turn off "Organize by Thread".  I think that will make each message show individually.

  • How can I change the default program to open Pages files in Finder from Pages 5.0 to Pages '09?

    I’ve tried. It seems Mavericks can’t tell the difference between the programs or won’t let me.

    Open DIsk Utility and in the toolbar select Disk Image. The file selector will open and you'll have to do three things: 1) just as with any file, name it and point the file selector to where you want it to be saved, 2) near the bottom you'll see name - type iWork 2013 and 3) below that select the image size. Click on size, choose custom and type 1500 MB then click on the Create button.
    Some time will pass and then you'll see an external disk pop up on your desktop and/or the Finder window sidebar. Drag the three programs into it and eject it like any other external disk. Now delete the programs from your applications window.
    Where ever it was you pointed the file selector to you'll see the file you created. Double click on it and the disk image will mount again.

  • MySQL - how can I change an IP address restriction for a user [solved]

    I'm getting "Host ... is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server" when attempting to connect to mysql.  I read this guide which gives a solution but I have no idea how to physically implement the solution.
    You can fix this by setting up an account for the combination of client host name and user name that you are using when trying to connect.
    I want to change the access from "localhost" to any address on my LAN (192.168.0.*) for user facade, but am unsure of the proper syntax.
    # mysql -u root -p
    Enter password:
    Welcome to the MySQL monitor. Commands end with ; or \g.
    Your MySQL connection id is 53
    Server version: 5.5.16-log Source distribution

    Type 'help;' or '\h' for help. Type '\c' to clear the current input statement.
    mysql> select host, user from mysql.user;
    +-----------+--------+
    | host | user |
    +-----------+--------+
    | 127.0.0.1 | root |
    | ::1 | root |
    | localhost | facade |
    | localhost | root |

    Host can be a combination of IP/netmask. In your case, something like:
    UPDATE mysql.user SET host = '192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0' WHERE user = 'facade'

  • I am a PC user now adjusting to the iMac. How can I change the font setting so that every app is the same font...larger than what is currently showing?

    I am new to th imac, having used a PC all of my life. I would like to set the text size for all applications, is this possible?

    You can only do that globally by changing the screen resolution. In OS X it is on an application by application basis, if you can change it at all. For instance, for finder windows choose  View menu > Show view options. In Text Edit in Preferences > New Document. Mail > Format > Show Fonts but this is only for messages text.
    In short, Apple wants you to live with what you've got and dosen't make it easy to change any fonts except the ones you use to compose.

  • How can I change JUST the root password, not my user's passwords?

    I'd like to have access to this machine remotely and be able to drop files onto it's multiple users' desktops from anywhere on our network.
    I can do this with a root login. I have enabled root, but I am unable to log in using the "Connect to Server" utility using my root credentials.
    Is there a way for me to set up my root account so that I can log in remotely using a unique password? Not the password of the account I used to enable root?
    Thanks
    -----------S

    You could do this without enabling the root account, via ssh and an ssh-keygen key properly setup.
    Then you can use
    scp file [file ...] [email protected]:/User/username/Desktop/
    This is without enabling the root account, but rather having your account's ssh-keygen generated public key stored in the remote.system.address's /private/var/root/.ssh/authorized_keys file.
    Or if you prefer you could sftp (but I find scp much more flexible).
    rsync is also available to transfer files via ssh connections.
    However, ssh, scp, sftp, rsync are best discussed in the Mac OS X Technologies > Unix Forum

  • How do you change the date/currency format for every user in OSX 10.6?

    I imaged a bunch of mac labs at work only to realize the base image has the date/currency set for United States rather then United Kingdom. The regional settings are correct.
    I tried changing it on the local admin account but it does not affect a new user that logs onto an AD account.
    Workgroup manager does not seem to offer anything either unless I am missing it.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Uncle,
    Page 116 of the Pages'09 User Guide: Control Click the date, Edit Date and Time.
    Date and time can also be in a table. Format the table cell.
    The User Guide is well worth a read. Download it from the Help menu in Pages.

  • How can I change the User Password expiry date

    Hi,
    I want to know how can I change the password expiration date of my user without changing his password. For eg:-
    User password expires on 12th May 2007. I want to extend to 12th Jun 2007. Is there any option in Oracle.
    Alter User <USERNAME> password expire .....<to new date>;

    The command is not alter user set expire...
    You should modify the user's profile, and set a timeframe:
    ALTER PROFILE DEFAULT LIMIT
    PASSWORD_LIFE_TIME = num_of_days;
    This way your password will be valid from the last time it was changed and for the time frame previously defined.

    i have made with iweb a website on my macbook, now i want to change it, through my imac, how can I get in the program , which is on the mac book. On both computer I have Lion

    You need to transfer your domain.sites file from your MacBook to your iMac.  This is the file where iWeb stores all info and can be found under User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites.
    Transfer this file from your MacBook to the same place on your iMac and double click the domain.sites file and iWeb will open it on your iMac and you can update your site from there too.
