With all due respect to my esteemed colleague, I don't thing think that your problem will be solved by anything that '''''dmcritchie''''' mentioned.
I '''''think''''' that the changes that Ask.com made to the about:home Search Container are stored in the '''webappsstore.sqlite''' file in your Profile folder. And that deleting that file when Firefox is closed might solve your problem.
But first you have to figure out what you installed ''(or was installed '''for''' you by another program that you installed)'' and un-install that Ask.com garbage, which might be masquerading under a different name, like maybe "search-something". If you don't get rid of the cause, it will probably reset that preference all over again when you start your computer the next time you go to use it.
This has been driving me nuts for the last 4 months, since slightly before Firefox 4.0 was released and the first complaint about the about:home search engine being changed was posted in this forum. Short of actually installing some Ask.com garbage on my own PC and infecting it purposely, I am tearing my hair out trying to come up with a definitive answer about this problem.

About:home search engine not working
When I attempt searching in about:home it fails. It seems to be a JS error since the html form appears quite valid. My aboutHome.js is here: http://pastebin.com/muSihvGt .
As can be seen below, I'm on linux 3.2.0-29-generic , 64 bit. In Aurora.How is the about:home search engine being reported?

The Inspector offers choices of format for negative numbers when you choose Number of Currency as the format for a cell. Also offered when the format is set to Automatic, IF the selected cell(s) contain number(s).
The choices are in the pop-up menu beside the box for number of decimal places.

Click on the picture of the AirPort Express
Click Edit in the smaller window that appears
Click the Wireless tab at the top of the next window
Edit the Wireless Network Name
Keep it short.....maximum 10-12 characters or so. No blank spaces or punctuation marks in the name
Click Update at the lower right of the window to save the new setting and wait a full minute for the AirPort to restart -

ThanksChanging the existing home folder name is complicated. I recommend you NOT do that.
Instead, create a new User with exactly the home folder name you want, and copy your files over to that new user. Once a few days have gone by trouble-free, and you are certain you have no issues, you can delete the old home folder.
While on the subject of users, Some users prefer the peace-of-mind of using an "ordinary" user account, rather than an Admin account for daily use. This makes it much harder for anything to "sneak" onto your Mac, as you need to authenticate anything to be installed in system directories.
To do this, create a new Admin user, log into it, and demote your daily-use account to a non-Admin user. When actively installing stuff, the Admin username and password will be requested. -

Even if you could solve the iPhone problem something else will come up soon that will again challenge your disk space. New drives can be had for well under $100, and even a 500 GB drive is only a little more than $100. This would be a good time to upgrade. You can even clone your current drive AND increase the partition size in one step with disk imaging software such as Acronis True Image.

Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores and tap the Apple ID listed and sign out and sign in with other ID

- Settinge>FaceTime

How can you change the font size in the application and system headers? I searched the system and finder prefs to no avail. Changing the screen density is not a good option.
ThanksI downloaded Tinkertool. Found the font section and increased the size of most selections. The only thing that changed that I can see is the window label. The apple line, bookmarks line, the tool bar in safari are all the same---font size of about 4. Found the finder "show view options" but that didn't seem to change anything either. I'll keep working. Restarted all apps after changes as well.
