How can I change the Apple ID that appears on my iPod Touch? It's not the correct ID.

Somehow the email address that appears as my Apple ID when opening my iPod Touch (5th gen) is not my correct email address/Apple ID. How can I change my Apple ID withing my Touch so I can access apps?

You might have to transfer purchases to your account. If its signed in on a different account. Or,
1. Go to iTunes on your iPod.
2. Click music and scroll down to the bottom on your iPod.
3. It should show the apple ID that's signed in, and press it and choose sign out.
4. Then click sign in and it should work.

I created a new one but let say i go to apps store and install app, it will show dialog box with the 1st apple ID.

If these are both yours on the same account then give them different names so iTunes can tell them apart.
If the sync was an accident then do a "wipe" of the other iPad and set it up as new under a different ID and make sure iTunes knows it's a different accout, that is set it up as one, before you begin the sync.

I set up an Apple ID years ago with a hotmail email account. I also deleted that hotmail email account years ago. I now have a gmail email. I cannot back up anything to icloud because of my apple id that is connected to the hotmail email account that does not exist anymore. To change my ID, apple sends a verification email to my old hotmail account which i cannot access, and it also says my gmail account is my rescue account, so I wouldn't be able to change it to my gmail account anyway. I have used a @yahoo email address for 10 years as my apple ID when purchasing things. The biggest problem being, that at some point, yahoo decided to delete the email account and I can't use it. I would like to use my email addresses that I actually use (@me, @gmail), but I guess I used them at some point to log into gamecenter or some other useless apple thing. I know you can change the email associated with your account, but apple is showing that my emails are already in use, so I can't use them for this purpose.

All app purchases are permanently tied to their Apple ID. You will have to delete and repurchase the apps with a new ID. I would recommend wiping that iPad and setting it up with another ID.

Sync with iTunes so you have a backup. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase all content and settings. Restore the unit as New. Reconfigure for your new ID and password. Restore your apps, etc. from backup.

If you are going to change your AppleID login you will need to log out and back in on all your devices. Turn off 'Find My iPhone/iMac/iPod' first or you will find yourself unable to sign out and be stuck.
