How can I change the database & schema used by an Application?

Hi community,
I am very new on Essbase and I need help to find out how can I change the database connection (and schema) used by the database of an Application. The figure is that I need to point this database to a QA environment (currently it points to DEV).
If I do a right click over the properties of the database, I can see the following tabs: [ General ][ Dimensions ][ Statistics ][ Modifications ][ Compression ]. However, there is no option to change the database connection.
Is there a way to do this?

Are you trying to change a database connection of Planning application?
Essbase application do not have a relational connection.

How can i change the database name on MaxDB?

Hello. I need to do a homogeneous copy where the source system is the productive system and the target system is the quality system. Therefore after to restore the data backup i need to change the database name of quality system (from CLP to CLQ) but i'm not sure that it could be possible because in the MaxDB documentation i didn't found nothing about that. please can you tell me if it is possible and how i change it?
I work with MaxDB 7.6.04.11. Thanks for your help.

what you've described as your requirement is exactly what will happen, when you just perform the procedure that Eric described to you.
A recovery won't change the SID of the instance you perform the recovery to.
All it does is: take the instance as is and load the data pages to the data area. Afterwards the log files may be recovered.
Think of the instance as a kind of container for your database.
The instance itself is not the database - so the SID does not change with the content of the database.
Hmm... why not simply try it?
Create a little test instance and back it up.
Create another instance with a different name and recover the backup of the first instance.
You will still have both instances, each with its original name.

How can I change the title I see on my application

I'm aware it may seem a silly question, but I don't know how to change the title I see on my application. I don't mean the name of the application, but the one appears above on the page. If I change simply the name of the application this dosn't change on the page when I reun the application.
Where do I have to change it? Tabs, lists, where else?

In the Application Definition (Shared Components) create a substitution string APP_NAME. Enter some value there. In the page template header add this:

My computer was shut down. It was set on Japanese Hiragana language before shutting down. Now I want to login with my password in English. Yet, teh keyboard was set in Japanese and thus, I can not login anymore. How can I reset/change from Hiragana Japanese mode to Englsih ( US) with some shortcuts on my keyboard?

Try Apple/Command + space.
For the future, go to system prefs/accounts/login items and check the box for Show Input Menu on Login Screen.

I've got a problem trying to do that in J2ME MIDP:
'I have different class extending Midlet that I want to display one after the other. The change may be done when I click the '*' button of my cell phone'
For the moment I've created a main class that extend Canvas and which contain a vector of objects extending Midlet.
I'm able to change the objet which I want to display, but not to display it....
Is it possible to do that?
Do you have any idea of how to deal with that?

I need an interaction between a Midlet class and a Canvas class.
In fact I have several forms, and I need to allow my Canvas class to change the form displayed when a button is pressed.
But If I have a form in a Midlet , I can display it but can't catch the click on a button.
And if my Canvas is displayed I don't know how to display the form I want to.
So is it possible to do that... and if so, how?

You would normally make revisions to the source document (InDesign, Word, etc.), create a new PDF, and in Acrobat replace the old pages with the new. Any fields, links, bookmarks, code, etc. will be retained. The point is changing colors of things in Acrobat is not something it's intended to do.

We have created a target schema âAAAâ in a Development server and I have defined the Tablespace âUsersâ for the data and the Tablespace âIndexesâ for the indexes.
But in the target schema âAAAâ in the Production server we have defined the Tablespace âDWH_Dataâ for the data and the Tablespace âDWH_Indexâ for the indexes.
How can I change the default tablespaces for the data and the indexes in the Development server?

Do you want to do this in the design repository? In there you can do this on the module, as long as you don't do this on the tables.
You can also update this using scripting, which would be fastest if you need to do this for a lot of stuff...

After 7 days from now , how can i take the export of change data , from the data of my full export.

Think of the Data Pump Export/Import tools as taking a "picture" or "snapshot."
When you use these utilities it exports the data as it appears (by default) while it's doing the export operation. There is no way to export a delta in comparison to a previous export.
The FLASHBACK_TIME parameter allows you to get a consistent export as of a particular point in time.
I recommend you go to http://tahiti.oracle.com. Click on your version and go to the Utilities Guide. This is where all the information on Data Pump is located and should answer a lot of your questions.

How do I change the partition scheme to use GUID partition Table so I can get Snow Leopard to download on my 10.5 disk.
When I insert the disk it asks me to select the disk where you want to install MAC OS X.It only give me one option the 10.5.
when I click on it it says...
"10.5" can't be used because it doesn't use the GUID Partition Table scheme.

The GUID partition option is one of three possible choices (click the "Options" button in the Partition") menu - be careful to have a full backup as changing the partition scheme will force an erasure on the disk. Take a look at this Apple support article for more complete information:
Firmware updates for Intel-based Macs require a GUID partition scheme - Apple Support
Ignore the stuff about firmware updates and just look at the changing GUID partition scheme.
Good luck - and don't forget about the full backup BEFORE making this sort of change.

All apps are forever tied to the Apple ID that bought them. To stop your id from popping up, you need to delete the apps on his phone, and then repurchase them under his account.
