How can I change the date "taken" on individual photos in iPhoto?

How can I change the date "taken" on individual photos in iPhoto? I have some photos that were scanned and the date "taken" info displays the day the picture was scanned as opposed to the date it was actually taken. Is there some way to edit this information?

In iPhoto '11 on your Mac use the command "Photos > Adjust Date and Time" and enable the "Modify original files" option, if you want to set the date of the originals to the correct date as well.

Léonie

  • How can I change the date format in Reminders and in Notes?

How can I change the date format in both Notes and Reminders? Preference on Imac and Settings in IOS do not allow me to change the format in those 2 apps.
I Like to see 10oct rather than 10/10, as an example.

I do not have Mavericks or iOS - but the first thing I would do is reset the defaults - I'll use Mavericks as an example
From If the wrong date or time is displayed in some apps on your Mac - Apple Support
    OS X Yosemite and Mavericks
        Open System Preferences.
From the View menu, choose Language & Region.
        Click the Advanced button.
        Click the Dates tab.
        Click the Restore Defaults button.
        Click the Times tab.
        Click the Restore Defaults button.
        Click OK.
Quit the app where you were seeing incorrect dates or times displayed.
Open the app again, and verify that the dates and times are now displayed correctly.
Then customize to taste - OS X Mavericks: Customize formats to display dates, times, and more
OS X Mavericks: Customize formats to display dates, times, and more
Change the language and formats used to display dates, times, numbers, and currencies in Finder windows, Mail, and other apps. For example, if the region for your Mac is set to United States, but the format language is set to French, then dates in Finder windows and email messages appear in French.
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Language & Region.
Choose a geographic region from the Region pop-up menu, to use the region’s date, time, number, and currency formats.
To customize the formats or change the language used to display them, click Advanced, then set options.
In the General pane, you can choose the language to use for showing dates, times, and numbers, and set formats for numbers, currency, and measurements.
In the Dates and Times panes, you can type in the Short, Medium, Long, and Full fields, and rearrange or delete elements. You can also drag new elements, such as Quarter or Milliseconds, into the fields.
When you’re done customizing formats, click OK.
The region name in Language & Region preferences now includes “Custom” to indicate you customized formats.
To undo all of your changes for a region, choose the region again from the Region pop-up menu. To undo your changes only to advanced options, click Advanced, click the pane where you want to undo your changes, then click Restore Defaults.
To change how time is shown in the menu bar, select the “Time format” checkbox in Language & Region preferences, or select the option in Date & Time preferences.
Here's the result AppleScript i use to grab the " 'Short Date' ' + ' 'Short Time' "  to paste into download filenames - works good until I try to post it here - the colon " : " is a no-no but is fine in the Finder
Looks like iOS Settings are a bit less robust

  • How can I change the date on the top of the screensaver on my iPad air?

How can I change the date at the top of the screensaver?  It still has the date I purchased it.  I tried the date and time and resetting the ipad.

What do you mean at the top of the screensaver ? If you mean the wallpaper image that you have as your background, and which also shows on the lock screen, then you can change that image via Settings > Wallpapers & Brightness - did you take a screenshot on the date that you bought your iPad, and that screenshot included the date on it ?
On my lock screen, if that's what you mean by screensaver, then the date that shows below the time is picked up from Settings > General > Date & Time e.g.

How can I change the default setting for downloading photos from emails I receive?  It shows the default as Photoshop Elements 4.0 and is not supported by this system.  That was my last computer!!
    Thanks,

That has nothing to do with styles nor Pages, it is a System/Printer Driver setting.
You can experiment to see if the Printer Settings stick with your document, but in the past this has not worked.

Make sure to have a backup of each device, then use the backup to restore the phone after you have set it up as new device, explained in this article:
How to back up your data and set up as a new device
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
Choosing an iOS backup method (Should I use iTunes or iCloud to back up my iOS device?)
Check this article about the content of the backup.

Don't forget to deactivate the Activation Lock on both phones:

  • How can I change the date format?

How can I change the default date format for all date fields in Oracle CRM OD? Currently it is set to the US format of MM/DD/YYYY.
I would like to spell out the month, e.g. October 6, 2010, in order to avoid confusion between US and international date formats.
For example 11/6/2010 means October 6, 2010 in US but it means 11 June 2010 internationally. Having a global team, this is causing problems for us.
    Georgi

Georgi, the company profile has a Default Locale. Also each user can have their Locale. The US format of MM/DD/YYYY can not be changed to October 6, 2010 as an example.
I would recommend that you submit a enhancement request to CRM On Demand customer care.

  • How can I change the date of birth on my child's Apple ID?

    HI,
My son's school have started an initiative where they use iPads as part of their lessons, and subsequently my son has a brand new iPad through the scheme.
The setup guide that the school supplied directed us to enter the parent's date of birth and the student's name to set up an Apple ID.  However, since setting his iPad up we have become aware of Family Sharing when we setup our old iPad for his younger brother, and the ability to create an Apple ID for a child.  We would obviously like the same level of protection and security for both children, not to mention restricting any accidental purchases!
Is there any way to change his date of birth from mine to his?  I have read other similar posts with the best solutions apparently to fudge the date of birth so that the child is older than 13 years old.  I would like to do this properly rather than lie about his age...
    Thanks in advance

You can not change the date of birth on the account. You are explicitly told this when the account is created.
The ID you created is yours, not your son's. If your son is under 13, then to claim it is your son's ID is to say that you committed a crime when you created it. Create a new account for your son.
Inform the school that if they are instructing parents to do this because the children are under 13, they are potentially criminally liable. They should know better.

  • How can I change the date old photos were taken when I only know the year?

I've scanned lots of old photos and I want to change the date to reflect when they were taken. In some cases I only know the year and I don't want inaccurate information to be assigned by the software. How can I do this?

Actually a specific wrong date is no more inaccurate than a year with no more info - neither is correct, just incorrect in different ways
the software de not ever assign a date to a photo - you do o your camera does
iPhoto has no provision for an approximate date do you have to leave them undated in the EXIF fields and use a description field or pick a date to use for unknown - 1/1/xxxx is one suggestion

  • How can I change the date on photos I got from someone else?

I attended an event with a friend and the photos of hers that I downloaded from Facebook have a very old date (December 2009). I suspect she doesn't have the date set in her camera. So iPhoto thinks the event went from Dec. 31, 2009 to Aug. 24, 2012 and organizes it in Events in Dec 31 2009, so it isn't where I look for it. I have tried changing the date on the pictures I got from her, but that field is uneditable for those pictures. I can change it on my own, but not hers. How do I get these photos to show the correct date so that they appear in the correct order?

No worries. I asked pretty much the same question about 2 years ago. After all the problems I come here to have solved, I finally solved someone else's!

  • How can I change the dates on many photos with a fix time of say 20s?

Before it was possible to change the date on many pictures scanned by adddind a fix increlental of time.
How can I now change the dates on many pictures taht I have renumbered to keep the same incremental?

    The seconds:
I just remembered - the time increment is set in Apple Script in seconds -  the variable  "minutes" is just a name for the value "60" and "hours" for "3600". Since "seconds" would have the value "1", there is no predefined constant "seconds".
If you want an increment of 30 seconds, simply write
    set timeIncrement to 30
    For example
    on run {input, parameters}
      (* copyright leonieDF *)
              set timeIncrement to (1 * hours) + (2 * minutes) + 30
(* select at least 2 images in Aperture *)
              tell application "Aperture"
      activate
                        set imageSel to (get selection)
                        if imageSel is {} then
                                  error "Please select an image."
                        else
                                  tell (item 1 of imageSel)
set imageDate to value of EXIF tag "ImageDate"
--set imageDate to get the value of EXIF tag "ImageDate"
                                  end tell
repeat with i from 2 to count of imageSel
set imageDate to imageDate + timeIncrement
      adjust image date imageDate of images {item i of imageSel}
                                  end repeat
                        end if
                        return imageSel
              end tell
    end run

  • I have a trouble: how can i change the date of the delivery of my iPad? is it actually possible?

i've ordered the iPad, but i need to change the date of delivery, how it could be possible? heeeelp!
does anyone know the e-mail of apple support?

As I said, check the Apple Store site where you placed your order, in their help section there should be contact information.  I only gave the USA number as an example (or if you were in the USA).
Oh, or, if you mean you ordered while in the US and are not there now - sorry, I don't know what else to offer.  Looking at the online US store's "contact us" section, there is only phone numbers (which, as I say, is typical of how Apple does support).
